Samsung has officially started rolling out the One UI 8 update for all Galaxy Tab S8 models across the globe. The update is based on Android 16 and brings new features, better performance, and a smoother look and feel.

One UI 8 update for Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, S8+, and S8 Ultra models is live in Europe and the UAE (via APTIVI). Users can verify the update via One UI build version ending with EYJ4, and it is now available for both Wi-Fi and 5G models.

With this major update, Samsung has made the interface more powerful and user-friendly. It makes it easier to use your tablet for work, creativity, or entertainment.

Samsung enhanced the split-screen multitasking functionality. Galaxy users can now open three apps side by side in vertical app windows.  The new software elevates the Samsung DeX experience with Android’s Desktop Mode integration.

To get the update, open the Settings app, go to Software Update, then tap on Download and Install. Once you see One UI 8 at the top, tap Download, wait for it to finish, and then tap Install.

Make sure your tablet is charged and connected to Wi-Fi, as the update is around 3GB in size and may use a lot of data if downloaded on mobile networks. The whole process usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

Aside from this, Android 16 is the last major software update for the Galaxy Tab S8 series. However, users will still get One UI 8.5 next year with improvements and bug fixes. After that, newer versions like Android 17-based One UI 9.0 will not come to these tablets.

Samsung Wallet is getting a bold new upgrade in India with loads of new features. The company is elevating its digital wallet-cum payments application with modern functionalities, even ahead of leading rivals in the market.

The new Samsung Wallet features will benefit millions of Galaxy users in India. The app is gaining support for seamless UPI onboarding as part of device setup, PIN-free biometric authentication, and enhanced Tap & Pay support.

In a bold move, Samsung has added Wallet setup to the initial setup of the device. That said, you will be able to register UPI on the Samsung Wallet app right after unboxing your new Galaxy and setting up the things for you.

Samsung Wallet is also eliminating the need for a PIN for UPI payments. NPCI has recently allowed the PIN-free UPI feature to be included in platforms. Now, you just need your fingerprint or facial authentication to make UPI payments.

You don’t need to separately set up fingerprints and facial data for UPI payments. Your phone’s lock screen authentication methods are enough. It will effectively reduce PIN theft, saving Indians from fraud if the device is stolen.

In addition, Samsung Wallet is also extending the supported merchants for stored credit and debit cards. You will be able to make payments at key merchants right away, even without keeping and holding credit/debit card details.

AU Bank cards will now be compatible with Samsung Wallet’s Tap & Pay feature. FOREX cards powered by WSFx Global Pay Limited will be supported on the app to let Galaxy users make seamless international transactions.

Zomato, a popular food delivery app, started to utilize Samsung’s Now Bar on One UI 8. Some Galaxy smartphone users have begun getting real-time updates related to their food delivery orders from Zomato in India.

Samsung Now Bar is integrating Zomato, seemingly an app update-triggered action. Users say there’s no such option to enable or disable Zomato inside the Now Bar section.

It’s supported by Android 16’s Live Updated API, which third-party app developers can utilize to display real-time updates on devices. Samsung’s Now Bar is a Live Updates version tailored for its Galaxy phones and watches.

The status bar pill shows estimated time remaining with a tiny zomato logo. The extended pill features the app icon and name, as well as the venue from where your food is arriving attached with current time and arrival time.

Zomato’s live updates don’t seem to be an in-testing feature. It works across segments, including Live Notifications in Status Bar and Notification Panel, as well as Lock screen as scrollable and extended-mode cards.

You may miss out on live updates from Zomato in case your device doesn’t qualify for One UI 8. The Now Bar is available on One UI 7 devices too, but the expansion of apps and services is only taking place in the Android 16 version.

Samsung has officially confirmed that Galaxy flagship phones releasing in 2026 will use the new Exynos processor with competitive performance.

The phone maker has made it clear that the next-gen Exynos chipset will be used for “key flagship models” in 2026. The company hasn’t clarified these models, but it’s likely to be referenced for the Galaxy S26 series. Exynos has been at the center of Samsung’s semiconductor strategy for Galaxy smartphones, but lacks in its foundry process for this chipset has caused a serious meltdown in performance.

On one hand, Samsung was troubled by the declining performance and poor thermal protection. On the other hand, Qualcomm kept on polishing its Snapdragon chip for flagship phones. Since Exynos is no longer taking part in the competition, Samsung fully turned its sights to Snapdragon’s premium chipset, and the Galaxy S series left all of the worries created by the Exynos chip.

The company is once again plotting a major shift in its chipset integration for the S-series phones. Leaks and rumors already indicate that the Galaxy S26 series will feature the Exynos 2600 chip, a sign of Samsung re-trusting this Snapdragon rival. This movement clearly reflects on the company’s Q3 business result, where Samsung remained quite vocal on Exynos’ next year’s implementation plan.

Rumors also had it that the Galaxy S26 series will fully adopt this chipset from the base to the Ultra model. If so, Samsung will have to lock this choice in some countries/regions. However, Samsung will include Snapdragon for the top model in the majority of markets due to its stable performance. We can add the possibility of Samsung shipping this chip with the non-Ultra models, just like the Galaxy S24 series. Similarly, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Fold 8 may also follow this chipset integration.

For 2026, Samsung is expected to launch the Exynos 2600 chipset, processed with its in-house 2nm technology. A recent Geekbench score leak shows that the company has come far from the 3nm processed Exynos 2500 featured in the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Samsung’s optimism about the 2026 Exynos chipset is amusing, but its on-board performance will be worth comparing with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 while discussing some serious upsides of the 2nm technology battle.

Samsung is updating Good Lock and Home Up apps, providing fixes for some of the most annoying issues. The updates are available for download through Galaxy Store, bringing a more reliable user experience on Galaxy phones.

Good Lock

Samsung says it has fixed a severe glitch in Good Lock. The bug was causing an errorful installation status on the interface. The majority of users reported this problem that the installation icon keeps blinking even after it’s completed.

Home Up

Good Lock’s Home Up plugin is also gaining improvements for DIY Home features. The plugin’s DIY Home section powers some heavy personalization tools, but the widgets were not functioning well on the home screen.

When DIY Home is in use, the Home Up turns home screen widgets a little larger. This bug not only enlarges the widget, but also hurts the alignment. The latest version of Home Up has the necessary fixes for this aspect.

Samsung doesn’t include everything in its update release notes. Following the update, the apps will clean their Cache and remove unnecessary files. Additional improvements have been included to elevate the user experience.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is official, and its “for Galaxy” version is expected to be used in the Galaxy S26 series next year. The company would ship Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus with Exynos 2600 in most countries in Asia and Europe.

While Exynos 2600 is almost confirmed, the camera upgrades in the Galaxy S26 series are the biggest development. Recent leaks about the Galaxy S26 camera setup had nothing but disappointment for Samsung fans.

Samsung today announced its Q3 2025 revenue and profit results. The company’s consolidated revenue and operating profit have seen a steep surge, making the quarter a record-breaking period in recent years.

In Q3 2025, Samsung posted KRW 86.1 trillion ($59.8 billion) in consolidated revenue, an increase of 15.4% compared to the previous quarter, whereas the operating profit increased to KRW 12.2 trillion ($8.47$ billion).

HBM3E AI chip boom and Galaxy Z Fold 7 sales have played a crucial role in Samsung’s comeback. The company’s DS Division, which includes the memory business, reported a 19% increase in sales quarter-on-quarter.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 has also impressed Samsung with its strong sales. The company’s latest foldable smartphone helped MX Business to grow sales in both quarter-on-quarter and year-over-year sales and operating profit.

Samsung shared details insights for all of its key businesses. In addition, the company has also shed light on its future plans that include sales of its 2nm Exynos 2600 chips, advanced mobile AI, new camera sensors, and seasonal sales.

Google is working on a new feature for Android Auto that will let you add home screen widgets to your car’s display. The feature, which is currently called “Earth,” is still being tested but already shows how much more customizable Android Auto could become.

Right now, Android Auto only has “Taskbar Widgets” for quick actions like controlling music. But with home screen widgets, you’ll be able to add small app tools, such as weather, a clock, or music controls, directly to your dashboard. The screen will be split into two parts, one side for the widget and the other for your usual apps and shortcuts.

To try it, users will go to Settings >> “Customize Earth.” From there, you can give permission to create widgets, pick one from a list of supported apps, and adjust its size using a slider. Only one widget can be active at a time, so choosing a new one will replace the previous one.

Some widgets already work nicely. The Clock app’s Stopwatch and Google Calendar widgets also function, though some features still show warning messages when tapped. The Spotify widget looks good, but doesn’t fully display song details yet, as it’s not designed for Android Auto’s layout.

There are still limits. You can only use one widget, move it slightly, and not all widgets respond properly to touch. Still, this early version gives us a good idea of what’s coming.

When finished, the new home screen widgets should make Android Auto more personal and useful without picking up their phones. It’s a small but exciting change for the road ahead.

Gemini on Android now looks even better with a new true black theme. The Gemini shortcut, which is part of the Google app, has replaced its old dark gray background with a deep, true black color. Samsung’s faster Exynos 2600 has reappeared on Geekbench, securing impressive performance scores. It seems Samsung is testing two different versions of Exynos, with the main difference anticipated in CPU frequencies.

Earlier, an underclocked Exynos 2600 emerged on Geekbench, showing a performance decline. It took Samsung around a week to reevaluate its powerful Exynos 2600 chip, which has broken the previous performance records.

In the test conducted on October 29, Samsung’s Exynos 2600 chip hit 3,455 and 11,621 in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.

This particular chip’s prime core is clocked at 3.80 GHz, while the 6-core cluster is clocked at 2.76 GHz and the 3-core cluster at 3.26 GHz.

In the past, the same SoC scored 3,309 in single-core and 11,256 in multi-core tests. That said, Samsung has improved the overall performance, which is not huge but worth praising.

Last week, an underclocked Exynos surfaced for the first time. The prime core was clocked at 3.55 GHz, while the other setups were at 2.46 GHz and 2.96 GHz. It managed to score 3,047 in single-core and 10,025 in multi-core tests.

Two versions of its upcoming Exynos hint at a future strategy or chip diversification. Who knows if Samsung’s preparing a faster version for Galaxy S26 Ultra and the underclocked for the other two models, base and Plus.

As a result, Samsung Health users in the US can book, conduct, and follow up on virtual care consultations. It essentially ends the need for leaving the Samsung Health app for doctor visits, but the feature is limited to US users.

How HealthTap works within Samsung Health:

Through an embedded interface, Samsung Health users will be able to select a virtual visit option, complete a short intake, and connect to a HealthTap doctor for a video consultation within minutes.

Once done, patients can review the clinician’s notes and follow-up instructions within the app. The entire process is designed to be seamless, requiring no app switching or additional downloads.

A recently spotted Samsung chip on the Bluetooth SIG website, the Exynos S6568, could make this possible. The Exynos S6568 is designed to work alongside Samsung’s main Exynos 2600 processor and supports both Bluetooth 6.1 and Wi-Fi.

Samsung’s next big software update, One UI 8.5, is shaping up for Galaxy users. While Samsung hasn’t officially announced it yet, leaked information from early builds has revealed some exciting new features in its Camera app.

In the current Pro mode, users can manually adjust settings like ISO, shutter speed, white balance, and focus to capture perfect shots. However, doing this every time can be time-consuming.

Galaxy S26 series will launch early next year, and Samsung is betting everything on the Exynos 2600 chipset. If the in-house SoC is used, the company will manage to keep the prices unchanged, without passing on to buyers.

Almost every merchant related to the electronics industry reiterated the fact that DRAM prices have doubled in a month and are skyrocketing. People familiar with the matter believe the prices won’t go down anytime soon.

Samsung’s October 2025 security update is now available for Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra in various markets. The firmware was released first in Southeast Asian markets, before the recent expansion to India.

October 2025 patch follows the recent One UI 8 update rollout for the Galaxy S22 series. While the previous release was a major one, users shouldn’t expect a significant update until the second quarter of next year.

Well, the new update isn’t useless either.

It includes stability and reliability enhancements to elevate your phone’s behaviour. Samsung has patched 34 CVEs and SVEs and included the improvements in the October patch. You can check the changelog and build versions below:

It is reported that the TriFold has a nearly invisible screen crease. Samsung has already nailed the screen visibility with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and it would be interesting to see how the TriFold takes the crease control further.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold phone comes with a dual-hinge design to function in the triple-folding form factor. It practically features two foldable panels, which turn into a tablet-sized appearance when completely unfolded.

Galaxy Z TriFold is based on Samsung Display’s Flex G prototype, whose screens fold inward. Korean media reports that Samsung’s TriFold has overcome the technological limitations that caused durability concerns.

The Korean tech giant is expected to have a brief session regarding its TriFold during the APEC CEO Summit on October 31 and November 1. The official reveal is expected in late November or early December in select markets.

Google Messages will soon integrate a “Trash” folder, an idea inspired by Samsung’s Recycle Bin feature.

Galaxy phones prioritize Google Messages, instead of Samsung Messages, to offer modern chat features like RCS. However, Google’s native messaging app is still evolving, and Samsung is playing a key role, indeed indirectly.

Google Messages app’s latest Beta shows signs of an upcoming Recycle Bin-like “Trash” feature. It will help users recover deleted chats, just like Gmail. The app will keep deleted chats stored in a separate memory for 30 days.

Samsung Messages has the same feature as the Recycle Bin. When you delete a chat, it goes right to the Recycle Bin, a dedicated folder. You have 30 days to restore the deleted chat; otherwise, it will be permanently wiped out.

Google Messages prioritizes the term “Trash Folder” for this feature, similar to Files by Google. Leaked code snippets suggest the “Trash Folder” will be put on the task to store recoverable “Trashed Conversations.”

All in all, Samsung users are going to benefit much from this feature. It will effectively safeguard messages and prevent the loss of accidental removals.

While Samsung Messages has had it for years, Google’s version is in early stages. The current development is limited to code snippets, and we could see a preview of this feature in the next Beta builds of the application.

A report from a Korean media claims that Samsung was ousted from Nvidia HBM4 supply in the early stage. The company has just secured a long-overdue approval for HBM3E from Nvidia, but the new rumor claims different.

NewsTopKorea article (now deleted) claimed the HBM4 samples supplied by Samsung have been rejected in the qualification test by Nvidia. However, analyst Jukan confirmed with his sources and reported on X that the rumor was fake.

Besides HBM4, the report also stated that Nvidia didn’t award supply volumes to Samsung for HBM3E chips despite quality certification. Similar to HBM4, the HBM3E supply rejection also seems to be a baseless information.

Following the incident, the user took their phone in an exploded condition to nearby service center. However, the initial investigation didn’t reveal the exact cause of this unexpected explosion, which must be thoroughly investigated.

The user, who faced this issue, reported:

The S25+ I was holding got extremely hot and made a popping sound, so I threw it on the floor, and then a fire broke out. The Samsung Service Center says the investigation concluded the cause is unknown.

As the complaint is posted in the official community, Samsung would directly contact the user. The device might be picked up from the user’s end for further investigation, and hopefully, they will get a new unit as a replacement.

Google Chrome browser has now adopted a complete Material 3 Expressive design. The deployment of new UI components was initiated in late August, and Google took almost two months to fully deploy the interface.

Samsung phones have also received the updated Chrome with new Expressive design elements. The leading internet browser app has turned a bit more visually appealing, thanks to Google’s brand-new design language.

Google’s Chrome app has tweaked its 3-dot menu and tab grid.

The 3-dot menu now has forward, bookmark, download, site info, and refresh buttons in circular containers at the top. In the screenshots attached, you can see the Chrome app’s 3-dot overflow menu in Light and Dark modes.

Next is the Tab Grid, which has painted the new tab “plus” icon into dynamic color. Depending on your phone’s theming settings, Chrome’s “plus” key within the Tab Grid will appear be it Blue, Pink, or Monochrome.

When you swipe to close a tab, a pop-up appears at the bottom that has adopted a shadow effect. Tabs in the Incognito mode and Group switcher are also tweaked with the addition of a separate container with a squircle button.

Samsung has pushed an Android 16-based One UI 8 update for the Galaxy A15 5G and Galaxy Tab S9+ 5G on the Verizon network carrier in the US. This update gives users the latest Android experience with better design, smoother performance, and stronger privacy and security protection.

When some Galaxy users start a workout using the Samsung Health app, the exercise guide voice plays at the same volume as their music. This can make the workout experience uncomfortable, as users can’t control the guide and music volume separately.

The problem happens when the Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch are both connected to a phone running One UI 7. During workouts, it can be frustrating when you want to keep your music high but prefer softer guide notifications.

Fortunately, Samsung has acknowledged the issue and suggested a few easy steps to fix or reduce the issue. You can do this by checking the app permissions, restarting the app, and updating your phone.

To fix the problem, long-press the Samsung Health app icon and tap the App info button. Go to Alarms and Reminders and make sure Allow Permissions is turned on. If the app’s Battery setting is set to No limit, you may not see this option. Then, return to the app info screen and tap Force stop. Finally, open the Samsung Health app again to restart it.

If the issue continues, try updating your phone to One UI 8 (Android 16), as newer updates often include performance and sound improvements. Go to Settings >> Software update >> Download and install.

Google has made it easier to create presentations with its Gemini app. The Canvas tool in Gemini can now take a document or even a short text and turn it into a complete slide deck in just seconds. This is perfect for anyone who has stared at a blank Google Slides page, unsure where to start.

With this new feature, you can upload a report, research paper, or any text file, and Canvas will automatically make a presentation for you. The slides are already organized with sections, visuals, and design formatting.

Google is working on a new feature to make multitasking on Android tablets much easier. Tablets already have features like a taskbar, split-screen mode, and improved drag-and-drop, but they still aren’t as powerful as PCs when it comes to using multiple apps at once.

The new feature could let you open any app in a floating bubble. Right now, bubbles only work with messaging apps. But with this update, you might be able to open apps, such as YouTube, Chrome, or Gmail, in small floating windows. This would make it easier to use several apps at the same time, even on smaller screens.

Recent updates in Android 2510 Canary show signs of this feature. The Pixel Launcher, which manages the home screen and taskbar, includes a new tutorial.

It explains that you can “drag an app to the bottom corners to make it float.” An animation shows an app being dragged from the taskbar to the bottom right corner, opening in a small bubble instead of split-screen.

This new drag gesture is simple and fits well with how other multitasking features work. Instead of tapping a button, you just drag the app. Since Android already lets you add any app to the taskbar, it seems likely that this bubble feature will work with all apps, not just messaging.

Google hasn’t officially confirmed the feature yet, but the tutorial suggests it is coming. It could arrive in Android 16’s third quarterly release (QPR3) next March. If this feature launches, it would make Android tablets much easier to use for multitasking.

Samsung has started rolling out the October 2025 security update for the Galaxy S25 series in the USA. The update was already available in some other countries, and now Verizon-locked models in the USA are getting it. The rollout will expand to more carriers in the coming days.
