‘Unlikable and insufferable’: Jude Bellingham sparks outrage for ‘getting violent’ after World Cup loss

England superstar Jude Bellingham has had a dominant run through the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but that World Cup run ended in heartbreak on Wednesday with the team falling to Argentina in the semifinals. After the match, Bellingham clearly let his frustration get the best of him.

As Argentina celebrated on the field following their 2-1 victory over England on Wednesday, Bellingham was caught on camera striking an Argentina player in apparent frustration.

Bellingham Strikes Argentina Player

In the aftermath of Wednesday’s 2-1 loss, a video showed Bellingham standing on the field as Argentina players began to celebrate. After Argentinian defender Valentín Barco joined the celebration, Bellingham immediately turned and struck him on the head.

It’s not clear whether or not Barco did or said something to spark Bellingham’s reaction, but Barco responded by shoving Bellingham. The other Argentina players immediately started trying to separate the two before Bellingham’s England teammates approached to do the same.

— Diario AS (@diarioas) July 15, 2026

The incident came after England suffered a frustrating 2-1 loss to Argentina, after Bellingham helped put the team ahead 1-0 in the second half with a perfectly placed cross.

Bellingham Sparks Outrage

While it’s not clear what led to this reaction from Bellingham, he was certainly the first to get physical with Barco, and fans were quick to express their outrage at the incident.

“Wait what? Why on earth has he done that?!” one fan wrote in a post on X.

“The guy literally didn’t do anything???” someone else wrote.

“They must have told him something. Even so, you have to know how to lose,” another fan wrote.

“What outrages me is that this guy went out of nowhere to attack a rival player who was just happily celebrating with his team. Good thing he was exposed for the coward he is,” someone else added.

“Something so nasty about male players getting violent the second they’re losing,” another fan wrote, adding that “the kid didn’t even touch him.”

“One of the most unlikable and insufferable players out there. Bellingham is the sorest loser you can imagine,” someone else wrote, adding a photo of him kicking a cooler in frustration on a previous occasion.

While England has been eliminated from championship contention, they do still have one more match to play as they are set to take on France in the third-place match on Saturday.

Hydrofluoric Acid Prices Climb as AI Chip Demand Outpaces a Strained Semiconductor Materials Supply

With the Iran conflict once again in full swing and demand for AI chips booming, industry sources expect that semiconductor raw material prices will only increase. Earlier this month, China created some turmoil in the semiconductor manufacturing raw materials supply chain when it announced that it would suspend Helium exports due to the supply chain turmoil. While China is not a key Helium exporter in terms of capacity, its role nevertheless could create trouble down the road if there is further disruption. Semiconductor Manufacturing Raw Materials Providers Raise Prices As Demand, Supply Dynamics Bite The complexity of semiconductor fabrication, which […]

Samsung Reportedly Outsources Google’s TPU I/O Late-Stage Design, Says Report

Korean chip giant Samsung is reportedly considering outsourcing orders to design a portion of Google's Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) AI chips. Samsung is believed to be Google's manufacturing partner for the TPU chip's input/output (I/O) die. While the TPU's compute tile is expected to be manufactured by TSMC, the part on which the tile will be connected, called the I/O, is said to be Samsung's responsibility. For the I/O, Samsung is considering outsourcing the back-end design for the chip in order to ensure that Google's design is fit for its manufacturing facilities, says the Korean press. If Apple Were Really Serious About Acquiring PrismML, Its CEO Wouldn’t Be Broadcasting It To The World

The image features the Apple logo on the left and the 'Prism ML' logo with stylized text on the right.

You would have to be wholly fatuous to leak the details of an ongoing negotiation with a company as private as Apple, and from the mouth of the CEO no less, as PrismML appears to have done recently, indicating that the tidbit about its impending acquisition by Apple was nothing more than a glorified PR campaign. You don't leak details of an ongoing negotiation, especially when a company as sensitive as Apple is involved, if those talks have even a snowball's chance in hell of succeeding While speaking with CNBC earlier this week, PrismML's CEO casually lobbed a bombshell: Apple […]

Xbox’s 3,200 Layoffs Are Actually Even Bigger Due to “Hidden Cuts” to Contractors and the Like, Schreier Argues

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma smiling against a green background with the Xbox logo visible.

Xbox's planned 3,200 layoffs by July 2027 are already easily the biggest round of layoffs the industry has ever seen if taken at mere face value, but Bloomberg's Jason Schreier argues that's just the proverbial tip of the iceberg. In a new YouTube video, the journalist highlights the "hidden cuts" of the many contractors that were linked to a canceled project. Nowadays, triple-A game development involves several studios working together, some of which are external. For example, he reveals that the Perfect Dark reboot wasn't developed solely by The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics: sister studio Eidos Montréal was also involved, […]

A18 Pro Supply Constraints Have Become An Impenetrable Obstacle, As Analyst Says MacBook Neo Shipments Will Drop By 40%, AI Testing TSMC’s Fortitude

A18 Pro chip supply is hammering MacBook Neo shipments

The MacBook Neo has turned into an instant hit, and even with the price bumps that Apple introduced that made the company’s most affordable notebook $100 more expensive for both configurations, the bigger figure isn’t what’s derailing the portable Mac’s momentum. It’s the lack of chip supply for the A18 Pro, and according to an analyst, Apple’s MacBook Neo shipments are expected to suffer considerably, with up to a whopping 40 percent drop. It appears that AI firms gobbling up the entire supply have made the situation quite uncomfortable for both TSMC and Apple. Updated shipment forecast states the MacBook Neo will […]

GTA 6 Skips PC at Launch Not Out of Spite, As Console Limits Drive the Choice, Ex-Rockstar Producer Says

Two characters from 'GTA 6' stand side by side against a sunset with palm trees in the background.

GTA 6 is without a doubt the most anticipated game of 2026 for many, but only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S owners will be able to experience Rockstar Games' open-world title this November, as the game will not hit PC at the same time. Although many have long suspected this staggered release strategy is meant to get players to purchase multiple versions of the game, veteran GTA 5 producer John Ricchio (who worked at the studio from 2003 to 2014) confirmed there are other reasons behind this strategy, mostly technical. Speaking in an interview with Kiwi Talks, Ricchio emphasized […]

Best Smartwatches with Longest Battery Life in July 2026

As we head into the second half of 2026, getting a smartwatch to last through a long weekend is no longer a challenge. The combination of high-density silicon-carbon batteries and more efficient processors means that multi-day battery life has simply become the baseline for most new devices.

For this list, we are focusing entirely on full-fledged smartwatches. While there are specialized, rugged watches built specifically for hikers and endurance runners that offer significantly longer battery life, they usually achieve that by stripping away everyday smart features and apps. If you are looking for a device that offers a complete wearable experience without needing a daily charge, here is a look at the most reliable options currently on the market.

Xiaomi Watch 5

Xiaomi Watch 5

This watch runs Wear OS 6, an operating system that typically drains batteries quickly due to its heavy app integration and background syncing. However, the Xiaomi Watch 5 manages to provide up to six days of battery life in standard smart mode, and up to 18 days if you switch to power-saving mode.

It achieves this by utilizing a 930mAh silicon-carbon battery, a newer battery technology that allows for higher energy density without increasing the physical size or weight of the watch.

Additionally, it uses a dual-chip setup, pairing a main Snapdragon processor with a low-power co-processor. The co-processor handles basic background tasks like step counting and notifications, which prevents the main chip from waking up unnecessarily and draining power.

This makes it a highly practical choice if you want access to the full suite of Google apps, such as Maps and Wallet, without having to charge your watch every night.

OnePlus Watch 4

Oneplus Watch 4

Another strong Wear OS 6 option, the OnePlus Watch 4 offers about five days of battery life in its standard smart mode. If you use it heavily, meaning frequent GPS tracking for outdoor runs, continuous heart rate monitoring, and streaming music offline, that battery life drops to roughly three days.

However, if you need to stretch the battery further, the watch includes a dedicated power-save mode. By disabling the main processor and full Wear OS functions, it relies on a low-power co-processor to handle basic timekeeping, step tracking, and essential notifications, which can extend the battery life up to 16 days.

It is equipped with a 646mAh battery that supports fast charging, allowing you to fully recharge the device from zero to 100% in about 75 minutes.

The watch features a titanium alloy case and a bright LTPO OLED display. The LTPO technology is particularly helpful for battery conservation, as it allows the screen’s refresh rate to drop significantly when you are not actively interacting with it.

It functions well as an everyday watch that provides premium materials and can comfortably last through a long weekend trip without needing a charger.

Huawei Watch GT Runner 2

Huawei Watch GT Runner 2

If you primarily want a smartwatch for tracking workouts and do not need access to third-party apps, the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 (full review) is a very efficient option.

It runs proprietary HarmonyOS rather than a resource-heavy platform like Wear OS, it provides up to 14 days of battery life with light use, or about seven days under typical daily conditions.

For runners and hikers, the most relevant specification is its continuous GPS tracking capability. The watch can record up to 32 hours of continuous dual-band GPS tracking on a single charge, making it useful for marathons, ultramarathons, or multi-day hiking trips.

It also features a lightweight build at just 34.5 grams and a breathable strap, focusing entirely on comfort and detailed fitness metrics rather than smartwatch app ecosystems.

Apple Watch Ultra 3

Apple-Watch-Ultra-3

For iPhone users wanting to stay within the Apple ecosystem, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 offers up to 42 hours of normal use on a single charge. If you need to extend that, turning on Low Power Mode will give you up to 72 hours by limiting background heart rate measurements and delaying some notifications.

While it does not last as long as the dedicated fitness watches, the S10 chip and watchOS 26 optimizations make it efficient enough to prevent the need for daily charging, even with an always-on display and cellular connectivity active.

When the battery does run low, the fast-charging capability is quite useful, a 15-minute charge provides about 12 hours of standard use, which makes it relatively easy to keep the watch topped up while you take a shower or get ready for the day.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra

The current Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra provides up to 100 hours of battery life in Power Saving mode, or 48 hours in Exercise Power Saving mode, drawing from its 590mAh battery. It runs Wear OS 6 layered with Samsung’s One UI 8 Watch interface, providing deep integration with Android smartphones.

For people already using Samsung devices, a practical detail is how the watch works alongside the Galaxy Ring. If you wear them both, they split the health-tracking workload. The ring can handle background tasks like monitoring your sleep and continuous heart rate, which lets the watch turn off those specific sensors to save battery.

This distribution of work can reduce the watch’s power consumption and extend its overall battery life by about 30%, depending on your daily usage patterns.

It is also worth noting that Samsung is expected to release the next-generation Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 later this month. According to recent hardware leaks, this upcoming model will be equipped with a larger battery capacity, which should further improve its overall longevity and reduce the frequency of required charging.

Paige Bueckers says WNBA was ‘built’ on Black women

Throughout its existence, the WNBA has been made up primarily of Black women players. However, that does not extend to the league’s coaches, and Dallas Wings superstar Paige Bueckers thinks that’s a problem.

While Black women have made up most of the players in the WNBA since the league began in 1997, that is not true of the coaches throughout the league, as the WNBA does not have a single Black woman head coach. During a recent interview, Bueckers spoke out against that.

Following Sunday’s game against the Chicago Sky, Bueckers was asked about the “process” she hopes to see in terms of hiring Black women to head coaching jobs, with the WNBA not having a single Black coach throughout the league.

Bueckers, who is white, said that she would like to see “equal opportunity and no discrimination based on what you look like, who you like, and anything of that nature,” when it comes to the league making hires. She added that she thinks the league was “built on” the contributions of Black women.

“I think Black women — specifically, I grew up with a lot of prominent Black women in my life that were very important to me in how I was raised and how I grew up, being my stepmom, my AAU coach,” Bueckers said via ESPN. “So I understand how amazing they are and how they should get the same equal opportunity as a white woman, as a white man to be an important piece of this league.

“It was built on a lot of Black women — this league was — so it’s definitely right for them to get the same equal opportunity as everyone else.”

While seven of the 15 coaches throughout the league are women, none of those coaches is a Black woman, despite Black women holding most of the roster spots in the WNBA. It sounds like Bueckers wants to change that.

PlayStation 6 Patent Scraps Liquid Metal Cooling After PS5 Leaks Fried APUs And Motherboards For Years

A concept image showing a black PlayStation 6 console with blue lighting next to the logo and text 'PS6 PlayStation 6.'

The PlayStation 5 liquid metal cooling system has rapidly become infamous following the system's launch in 2020. Not only did the system prove to be somewhat unreliable in launch units, often leading to overheating issues, but the liquid metal itself would leak onto the system's APU and motherboard components, leading to widespread malfunctions that are still getting reported in droves. A mysterious emblem made of twigs forms the Assassin's Creed logo, set against a dark, rune-inscribed circle, with the text ASSASSIN'S CREED HEXE below.

Hochul’s Data Center Moratorium Lands as $130 Billion in Projects Stalled Nationwide in a Single Quarter

In a first-of-its-kind move, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul has declared a state-level moratorium on data center construction. Hochul's decision follows growing concerns about the resource-intensive computing centers that are necessary to power what is being dubbed the next industrial revolution. Most AI data centers are powered by NVIDIA Corporation's GPUs, with the average data center requiring millions of gallons of water daily to perform efficiently. New York State Data Center Construction To Be Paused In Moratorium Being Signed Tomorrow In her statement, Governor Hochul outlined that the resource-intensive nature of data centers was at the center of her […]

ChatGPT’s Mac App Update Made The AI Agent Provide An Entire List Of Local Files And Directory Path Without Permission, Causing Panic For One User Over Lack Of Privacy

Mac owner claims that the ChatGPT app bypassed security and began indexing files without permission

OpenAI rolled out an update for its ChatGPT app for Apple’s macOS, and while one user claims that the previous chat layout and project history were “completely messed up,” the update introduced what appears to be a terrifying shift in the AI agent’s behavior that could discourage other users who value their privacy. Apparently, when asked where the missing projects were, ChatGPT showed an exact local directory path, which, according to the user, shouldn’t be possible without proper authorization. Based on this incident, it appears that the app is accessing and indexing local files on its own, which is a […]

Xbox Can’t Be Both Platform and World’s Biggest Publisher, Warn Ex-Sony and Microsoft Execs After 3,200 Layoffs

CEO Asha Sharma smiling beside an Xbox Series X against a large green Xbox logo backdrop.

Amid all the problems that besiege Microsoft's Xbox division, the studio divestitures, the layoffs, the declining business, and even the loss of a few million Game Pass subscribers, lies one lingering question: what actually is Xbox? A platform or the biggest third-party publisher? Microsoft certainly tried its damnedest to confuse consumers with its constantly shifting strategy regarding first-party content, as well as the delirious "This Is an Xbox" campaign. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma quickly tossed it in the trash after taking over from Phil Spencer, seeking a return to the brand's core values. But even she admitted that there's a fundamental […]

U.S. Officials Reportedly Confirm First NVIDIA H200 AI GPU Shipments To China Two Months After Trump-Xi Meeting

NVIDIA's H200 AI GPUs are finally shipping to China, as reported by U.S. officials, marking the return of the banned chip. China Softens Its Position on NVIDIA GPUs As First H200 Shipments Now Headed To Chinese AI Firms The NVIDIA Hopper story in China has been a roller coaster ride so far. When Hopper was launched, US export restrictions for the Chinese market were in full swing. These pushed NVIDIA to release an export-compliant variant called the H20 for China, which ended up being severely cut down, but still a viable option against what China's domestic chipmakers had to offer. LaMelo Ball Cybertruck puts Minnesota on notice

LaMelo Ball was recently traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves after spending the first six years of his career with the Charlotte Hornets. It was a bittersweet move for Minnesota fans who had to say goodbye to Naz Reid, but now have the opportunity to see LaMelo Ball arrive at and depart from the Target Center on a regular basis.

Ball was notorious on the streets of Charlotte. He was sued after allegedly running over someone’s foot in 2024 and had a car accident caught on tape back in February. There are also enough videos showing him recklessly leaving Spectrum Stadium that someone made a compilation:

MORE: How LaMelo Ball trade impacts Minnesota Timberwolves’ NBA Championship odds

Ball is so well known for poor decisions behind the wheel that one of the main reactions to the trade was concern for the safety of the people of Minneapolis.

With Ball arriving in Minnesota to work out this summer, video has surfaced of him sitting in the driver seat of a Cybertruck. Some accounts are saying this is a new vehicle, but it looks like one he had back in 2024. It has LF on the side and “1of1” on the trunk and floor mats. The LF stands for “LaFrance,” which is his middle name.

This Cybertruck has always had an exterior that lights up, but he may have had the interior done to add some new lighting features. It’s certainly a choice when you’re considered a sometimes distracted driver.

Did LaMelo Ball bring his go kart?

We don’t know if Ball has found a new permanent residence in Minnesota yet or if he’s still looking. Hopefully he can find a place with a big enough yard that he doesn’t have to drive his gokart around on his roof like he did when he lived in Charlotte.

Ball is coming off a solid season where he played 72 games and helped the Hornets more than double their win total from the previous season. Expectations will be high for him this season, both on the court and in the street.

NVIDIA RTX 50 Series Hotspot Temperature Readings Are Back Through HWMonitor Utility

A close-up of an NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics card with visible thermal paste on the GPU and the 'NVIDIA GPU Hotspot' graphic in the background.

Despite NVIDIA's removal of the Hotspot temperature measurements, CPUID developers have deployed the feature to their popular hardware monitoring utility. NVIDIA Killed RTX 50 Hotspot Readings, but HWMonitor 1.65 Just Brought Them Back With Two Sensors While NVIDIA may have dropped the Hotspot temperature measurements from the Blackwell GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards, the sensors reportedly do exist. We saw how modders brought back the hotspot monitoring through modding, which revealed how some GPUs were thermal throttling despite showing normal average GPU temperatures. The GPUs, therefore, were affected by high hotspot temperatures, resulting in inferior gaming performance. The experiment […]

Apple Just Hit A 20% Global Smartphone Share, Yet A New Report Warns Slowing iPhone Builds Amid Price Increases And Weak US Upgrades Threaten 2027

Apple

Apple's sales cadence benefited enormously from its relatively attractive pricing regime that it chose to maintain until the tail-end of Q2, when the Cupertino-based tech giant finally gave in to the oncoming margin-related pressures by hiking prices of its Mac and iPad offerings. Now, however, with the hype around the iPhone 17 series fizzling out, and the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series expected to debut with material price hikes, a new research report has just found worrying evidence of Apple's slowing sales momentum. A KeyBanc analyst now believes the consensus estimate for Apple's iPhone growth of 8 percent in 2027 […]

The 5 best portable projectors right now

XGIMI Elfin Flip Laser

There are a lot of reasons to want a portable projector instead of just streaming on your laptop or phone: you want a movie-night image that’s actually big, you’re traveling and don’t want to lug a TV, or you just want to point something at a blank wall and have it turn into a screen in under a minute.

We go back through this category every few months, and this stretch of July is an especially interesting time to buy. XGIMI has new hardware landing in the next few days, JMGO has recently expanded its lineup with a new 4K portable projector, and several models that were heavily discounted earlier this month have returned to their regular prices. If you’re shopping now, it’s worth focusing on long-term value rather than temporary sales.

But before buying, you should know a few basics about the projector. They have a few types: LED models are the cheapest and most common, laser models are brighter and more color-accurate but cost more, and a growing number now blend the two. Battery life, auto-keystone, and whether Google TV or Netflix is built in without a dongle matter just as much as brightness once you’re actually using one of these day-to-day. With that in mind, here’s what’s actually worth your attention this month.

XGIMI Elfin Flip 4K

XGIMI is announcing the Elfin Flip 4K on July 15th, and it’s the most ambitious projector from the brand yet.

It’s XGIMI’s first small laser projector with native 4K support. It runs on a new RGB tri-color laser engine that XGIMI says offers color accuracy with ΔE of under 1. For those unaware, the value is closer to reference-monitor territory than portable projectors usually bother with. Color coverage is rated at 110% of BT.2020.

XGIMI Elfin Flip 4K

The body carries over the same 150-degree adjustable stand-and-handle design the Elfin Flip line has used since its debut. If that name rings a bell, we’ve previously covered the original Elfin Flip’s debut back at IFA 2024, when it launched at $399 with 400 ISO lumens and nothing close to a laser engine. Two years later, the same shell is carrying a 4K chip, which says a lot about how fast this category is moving.

It also runs Google TV out of the box, so there’s no separate streaming stick to carry, and it supports ALLM and VRR for your gaming needs.

The projector is currently on pre-order till July 14th, and if you do, you can claim 10% off for paying in full, plus a free portable screen or a set of 3D glasses depending on the model.

XGIMI Elfin Flip Laser

The Elfin Flip Laser launches the same day as its 4K sibling but sticks to 1080p — and it’s trading resolution for a claimed 1,600 ISO lumens. Everything else is the same: same stand, same Google TV software, same ALLM and VRR support if you want to plug in a Switch or a Steam Deck for something less serious than a movie.

XGIMI Elfin Flip Laser

If the brightness number holds up, this is the one we’d point most people toward, since 1080p at this size rarely looks meaningfully worse than 4K unless you’re sitting close enough to count pixels.

JMGO N3 Ultimate

JMGO isn’t a household name in the way XGIMI or Nebula is, but the Chinese projector maker has quietly built a reputation for high-end laser projectors over the past few years.

While the company first gained traction in Asia, its recent global expansion has put models like the N1S Ultra and the new N3 Ultimate in front of a much wider audience.

JMGO N3 Ultimate

The N3 Ultimate is the company’s new flagship projector with a 4K DLP projection system and JMGO’s latest MALC 5.0 RGB triple-laser light engine. It delivers up to 5,800 ISO lumens, covers 110% of the BT.2020 color space, and supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10+ standards.

Instead of relying entirely on digital keystone correction, JMGO offers motorized optical zoom, motorized lens shift, and a two-axis AI-powered gimbal that makes setup easier without sacrificing image quality. It runs Google TV out of the box, supports VRR for gaming, and can accept signals up to 1080p at 240Hz.

XGIMI Vibe One

The XGIMI Vibe One, which usually retails for $250, is currently available for $219, making it a great deal for the price.

XGIMI Vibe One

It’s a simple, battery-powered 1080p projector with Google TV built in, and at that price it’s hard to find anything else in the category with a proper smart TV platform baked in rather than a streaming stick taped to the side. At $219, it’s hard to find anything else in the category with Google TV actually built in

Anker Soundcore Nebula Mars 3 Air

The new XGIMI models are appealing, but the Nebula Mars 3 Air from Anker is a safe choice if the latest hardware is not what you crave. It is one of the easiest portable projectors to recommend thanks to its balance of image quality, battery life, and genuinely useful smart features.

Anker Soundcore Nebula Mars 3 Air

The Mars 3 Air uses a native 1080p DLP projection system with 400 ANSI lumens and has a built-in battery that provides up to 2.5 hours of video playback. It ships with Google TV with officially licensed Netflix support, so you can start streaming without plugging in a Fire TV Stick or Chromecast. It also includes dual 8W Dolby Audio speakers that are good enough for casual movie nights without needing external speakers.

Anker also took care of convenience with Intelligent Environment Adaptation, which automatically handles autofocus, keystone correction, screen fit, and obstacle avoidance in just a few seconds after you move the projector. It isn’t as bright as the latest laser projectors from XGIMI or JMGO, but for buyers who value portability and an all-in-one streaming experience over headline brightness figures, it’s still one of the strongest options in its class.

How I’d decide

If you’ve got two weeks of patience, wait for the Elfin Flip 4K or Laser. You’re paying full price, but you get the newest light engine on the market and the longest runway before it feels behind. That’s the right call if you’re keeping this thing for years or actually want 4K in something you can throw in a bag.

If you want something proven and cheap right now, the Vibe One or Anker are genuinely good value. They’re the smarter pick if 1080p and moderate brightness cover what you actually watch, which, for most people doing casual movie nights rather than building out a dedicated home theater, it does.

Whichever way you go, don’t get hypnotized by a big lumens number on a box. A laser-lit 1080p image will often look sharper in a dark room than a cheaper 4K unit running a weak lamp at full blast. Check whether the brightness rating was measured with the fan on full performance mode, since some of those numbers aren’t sustainable for a two-hour movie without the projector sounding like a hair dryer, and if you’re planning to use any of this outdoors, budget for a power bank or a screen on top of the sticker price.

Samsung Pushes Nintendo Toward a Switch 2 OLED, yet the $499 Price Crisis Threatens to Stall the Deal

A hand places a Nintendo Switch 2 OLED console into a charging dock labeled with 'Nintendo Switch 2' against a red background.

Rumors about a Nintendo Switch 2 OLED version have swirled even before Nintendo's latest console launched in June 2025. In April 2024, a Samsung leaker suggested that the unit was actually already in production for a launch slated at a later time. That turned out to be incorrect, but the rumor that Samsung is pushing for an OLED version persisted into May 2025. That wouldn't be surprising, as Samsung supplied Nintendo with the OLED panel for the first Switch. Now, the Korean edition of the business technology website ZDNET has learned that Nintendo is actively evaluating the possibility. They cited […]

‘She will be the candidate’: Journalist predicts Sophie Cunningham to make run for White House

Sophie Cunningham
Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham (8) warms up before a game Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Sophie Cunningham has seen her star power rise enormously since becoming teammates with WNBA phenom Caitlin Clark. Since joining the Fever, where she has embraced the role of Clark’s “enforcer,” Cunningham has launched a podcastjoined USA Network as an active player analystbecome a meme, and, over the weekend, even debuted as a UFC ring girl.

Cunningham has also shown a willingness to talk about controversial issues in the WNBA, even when comments get her into trouble. Atlthough Cunningahm has bristled from at fans linknig her to the MAGA movement or Donald Trump directly (some fans call her “MAGA Barbie”), her recent dodging of a question about the current administration using her viral finger-pointing meme has reignited talks about her political affiliations.

In fact, ESPN Page 2 writer Chuck Klosterman has predicted that Cunningham will be on a presidential ticket within the next 25 years.

“Sophie Cunningham … I’m going to say 2050, is going to be Vice President of the United States,” Klosterman said in an appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast. “I don’t know what party she’ll be in, I don’t know anything about her political views. But she will be the vice presidential candidate, at least the candidate.”

@CKlosterman‘s bold prediction for 2050 pic.twitter.com/Ex7PCCy55V

— The Ringer (@ringer) July 13, 2026

“I don’t know what it is. It’s something about the fact that she wears those sleeves on the court, something about the way she triggers in-bound plays at the end of games, makes me think she will be someone’s ideal vice president. You know, she has a damn likable personality.”

In fairness, Klosterman’s prediction should be taken with a grain of salt consdiering how he quickly acknowledged that he knows little about her political leanings or ambitions.

Still, in a cultural where celebrities have become prime Presidential candidates, and with the White House have already been home to one female vice president, Cunningham could end up being a pretty savvy prediction, especially considering her willingness to get her hands dirty both on the court and when it comes to dealing with the media.

VAR intervention rate shows just how much ‘VARgentina’ has benefitted during World Cup

Argentinian superstar Lionel Messi has turned back the clock and is arguably turning in the most impressive World Cup performance in his career during the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.

Entering Argentina’s semifinal matchup against England, Messi has scored eight goals and provided two assists. However, as great as Messi has been, a lot of the conversation around Argentina has surrounded what many have found to be preferential treatment during its games.

After losing 3-2 to Argentina 3-2 in the round of 16, Egypt coach Hossam Hassan did not hold back when discussing what he felt was a match where his country had to overcome not only the great Messi, but the FIFA referees as well.

We haven’t seen respect or fair play,” he told media members. “A penalty was ruled out and a second (incident) that should have been checked for a penalty for us was not even checked by the VAR. A second goal was remarkably, for whatever reason, disallowed.

“There seems to have been pressure on the Argentinian side on the referee that has brought about this outcome. Life is unfair. The world is unfair. OK, but why isn’t there any fairness in sports? I’m not convinced by this outcome and by the way things unfolded in this match.”

Even New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani referenced Egypt being treated unfairly in an address to the city.

“VARgentina”

One controversial moment in the match occurred when Egypt had what would’ve been its second goal of the match overturned by a VAR review that left even Fox’s announcers stunned.

Many fans have felt that Argentina has received favorable rulings throughout the entirety of its World Cup run, leading them to dub the squad as “VARgentina.” Now, a delve into the numbers has revealed the truth behind Argentina’s relationship with VAR reviews.

A chart created by NetSI Sport and provided by Northeastern Global News shows “which teams during this year’s World Cup have seen the most favorable VAR outcomes (in blue) and which have seen the least (in red) using a baseline of per 100-fouls committed or won.”

Credit: NetSI Sport

Per the graph, which was provided on July 11th before Argentina’s quarterfinals win over Switzerland, which saw a Swiss player sent off after a VAR review, of all the teams that reached the quarterfinals, only Argentina didn’t have a single foul committed be reviewed by VAR, while also having the most fouls in its favor reviewed by a wide margin.

Still, Brennan Klein, director of the Northeastern NetSI Sport research group, is not going as far as to say that Argentina has received preferential treatment.

“Why are Argentina and Mexico topping this list?” he said. “They are topping this list because the referees missed fouls that the VAR thought should have been fouls. There’s a hop, step and a jump away from: ‘They’re biased against my team or for this team.’”

Still, these findings certainly won’t help quell any fan narratives that FIFA is favoring Argentina.

The Cutthroat Smartphone Industry And DRAM Crisis Force A Player Out Of The U.S. Market, Giving Apple & Samsung Additional Room To Reap Profits

One smartphone player bows out of the U.S. smartphone market, giving Apple and Samsung plenty of room to grow

The U.S. smartphone market is currently dominated by Apple, with a small but important chunk occupied by Samsung. The remaining brands have been offered breadcrumbs in terms of market share, refusing to let any other manufacturer grow out of their shadow. Unfortunately, the AI boom had to arrive at an inopportune time, because the aforementioned reason and rising memory prices have forced one company out of the U.S., plus one other market. OnePlus is preparing to bid farewell to the U.S. and European markets, with an announcement expected in the coming days The writing was practically on the wall, and […]

15 best baseball announcers of all time

Baseball’s soundtrack of summer has always depended on the voices in the booth as much as the players on the field. The right call can turn a routine summer night into a memory that lives in a fan base forever.

As the 2026 MLB season reaches the unofficial halfway mark with this week’s All-Star Game and turns toward the stretch run, it’s a good time to reflect on the game’s most memorable voices.

MORE: Ranking the 13 most memorable moments in MLB All-Star Game history

This list of the 15 best baseball announcers of all time leans on impact, longevity, big moments and, just as important, how they sounded sitting in the car or on the couch in July when nothing much was happening.

These are the voices that defined how the sport sounds.

15. Phil Rizzuto

A Hall of Fame player with the New York Yankees, Phil Rizzuto moved right from the playing field to the broadcast booth. His idiosyncratic, conversational style played well in the Big Apple for 40 years before he retired in 1996.

Who can forget Rizzuto’s signature phrase, “Holy cow!” And, yes, that’s him providing the play-by-play of a young man “rounding the bases” in the Meat Loaf song “Paradise by the Dashboard Lights.”

14. Bob Costas

Bob Costas famously got his start in broadcasting with the ABA’s St. Louis Spirits when he was just 22 years old. But baseball was his first love, and it showed. It wasn’t long before Costas got the “Game of the Week” job alongside Tony Kubek.

Costas’ encyclopedic knowledge of the game and humor formed a perfect mix for baseball broadcasts on television. He went on to broadcast several World Series and league championship series, both as a play-by-play man and pregame host.

The winner of 29 Emmy awards for his work in sports, news and entertainment, Costas still pops up on MLB Network as the host of documentaries.

13. Jerry Coleman

Jerry Coleman’s path to the booth ran through the field and military service, and he brought that perspective to decades of San Diego Padres broadcasts. He was known for good-natured malapropisms and slightly scrambled calls that fans came to love, as well as for a catchphrase that lived on in San Diego sports culture.

Coleman’s long-running “Oh, Doctor!” exclamation after big plays helped define Padres baseball on radio for multiple generations of fans in Southern California.

Behind the quirks, Coleman knew the game and never faked his way through a sequence. His style is a reminder that perfection is not the point; connection is.

12. Harry Kalas

Harry Kalas’ deep, rolling baritone became inseparable from the Philadelphia Phillies. His “Outta here!” home run call filled summers in the Delaware Valley, and his work on NFL Films projects gave him a second life as a legendary narrator in another sport.

For Phillies fans, Kalas provided constancy through lean years and eventual championships, including the 2008 World Series run that gave him a long overdue title call. His voice gave even routine plays a sense of weight without ever feeling heavy-handed.

11. Joe Buck

Few modern broadcasters inspire stronger opinions than Joe Buck, which usually means a guy has been on a lot of important calls. He became the primary national TV voice of the postseason at a relatively young age and stayed in that seat for two decades, layering his own style on top of the expectations that came with being Jack Buck’s son.

Joe Buck brought a measured, sometimes dry delivery that let big October moments speak for themselves. He was on the call for iconic plays such as the Red Sox breaking their title drought in 2004 and the Cardinals’ wild comeback in Game 6 of the 2011 World Series. Whether fans loved him or complained about him, his voice is attached to a long list of plays everyone remembers.

10. Curt Gowdy

Curt Gowdy spent years as the national voice for big events across multiple sports, and baseball was one of the primary beneficiaries. He called World Series, All-Star Games and classic postseason matchups in an era when there might be only one national telecast for a given game, which meant his calls effectively became the official record.

Gowdy’s style was straightforward and uncluttered, the sound of someone who trusted that the game would deliver the drama on its own. That approach has aged well. Listening back, there is no forced catchphrase or manufactured intensity, just a professional voice giving context to important baseball moments.

9. Bob Uecker

Bob Uecker was probably as famous for joking about his own playing career as he was for anything that happened on the field, and that self-deprecation powered decades of entertaining Milwaukee Brewers broadcasts. He also became a pop culture figure through late-night TV appearances and the “Major League” movies, but in Wisconsin he was the voice that guided fans through 162 games.

Uecker mixed dry humor with sharp play-by-play instincts, never missing the action even when he was clearly having fun with the audience. He kept Brewers baseball light during long rebuilds and heightened the joy when the team finally started stacking playoff berths again. The fact that locals simply call him “Ueck” says everything about how personal that connection has become.

8. Jon Miller

Jon Miller has one of the most recognizable voices in baseball and a delivery that can shift from lyrical to deadpan in a heartbeat. He spent years as the national Sunday night voice and has been a fixture on San Francisco Giants broadcasts, calling everything from Barry Bonds’ home run chase to multiple World Series runs.

Miller’s strength is precision. His descriptions are vivid but never crowded, and he brings an international flair with his playful use of accents and languages when appropriate. He made national broadcasts feel like big events without losing the rhythm of a regular baseball game.

7. Joe Garagiola

Joe Garagiola brought a former player’s insight and a comedian’s timing to national baseball broadcasts. A catcher turned broadcaster, he became a familiar voice on the Game of the Week and multiple World Series, helping casual fans understand what was happening without talking down to them.

Garagiola’s strength was his ability to weave in anecdotes that actually explained things, rather than simply filling air time. He could make viewers laugh at a mound conference or an error while still outlining the strategy behind the next pitch. His blend of accessibility and credibility set a template for the color role on national baseball coverage.

6. Ernie Harwell

In Detroit, Ernie Harwell was more than an announcer. He was a companion for summer after summer, with a welcoming tone and gentle sense of humor that made Tigers games feel like family gatherings. Harwell had a knack for turning mundane elements of a game into ritual, from his “stood there like the house by the side of the road” strikeout line to noting fans catching foul balls “from Kalamazoo” or “from Windsor.”

He called games for more than four decades in Detroit, and his consistency and warmth built a trust few broadcasters ever achieve. Harwell made listeners feel like they were exactly where they were supposed to be, and that is a rare gift in a long season.

5. Jack Buck

Jack Buck’s voice is stitched into the fabric of both St. Louis Cardinals history and national baseball memory. His “Go crazy, folks! Go crazy!” reaction to Ozzie Smith’s 1985 NLCS home run remains one of the sport’s most replayed calls, and his work on national radio placed him in people’s living rooms for multiple generations of postseason moments.

Buck combined Midwest calm with a knack for capturing the tone of a game in a simple phrase. He never tried to be the show, but when the moment called for a strong line, he invariably had one ready. That economy of words is a big reason he is still held up as a model for baseball play-by-play.

4. Harry Caray

Harry Caray turned the broadcast booth into a neighborhood bar, first in St. Louis and then in Chicago, where he became synonymous with Wrigley Field and the Cubs. His slurred vowels, mispronunciations and genuine awe for what he was seeing made him feel more like a fan with a microphone than a polished broadcaster. That was exactly the point.

Caray’s energy, including his signature “Holy cow!” and his willingness to lead the crowd in “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” turned ordinary regular season games into events. He was not perfect on details and barely pretended to be neutral, but he captured the emotional side of baseball fandom in a way that still resonates in Chicago lore.

3. Mel Allen

For a huge chunk of the 20th century, Mel Allen was the voice of the New York Yankees and, by extension, the voice of winning. His “How about that!” catchphrase could be heard on radio, television and highlight packages at a time when the Yankees were stacking championships and stars. Allen had an enthusiastic but controlled style that fit both the local broadcast and the emerging national appetite for baseball highlights.

He later became the host and narrator of “This Week in Baseball,” where his smooth delivery and sense of pacing introduced fans around the country to plays they never would have otherwise seen. Allen’s work helped bridge the gap between local radio calls and the national TV era that followed.

2. Red Barber

Red Barber helped invent the language of baseball on radio. Long before every market had its own signature voice, Barber was painting pictures for Dodgers, Reds and Yankees fans with a southern cadence and a string of homespun phrases. He popularized turns of phrase that still pop up in broadcasts, from “sitting in the catbird seat” to describing a close game as “tighter than a new pair of shoes.”

Barber’s work in Brooklyn set the table for Scully, and his influence on how play-by-play is described can be heard throughout the generations that followed. He did not just call the action; he framed games as narratives long before that became standard practice.

1. Vin Scully

Vin Scully is the standard every baseball broadcaster gets measured against. From Brooklyn to Los Angeles, from Jackie Robinson to Clayton Kershaw, he spent 67 seasons calling Dodgers games and still somehow sounded curious and sharp into his final year behind the mic. Scully mastered the balance between play-by-play and storytelling, dropping in anecdotes that felt like they belonged to the moment instead of distracting from it.

He called some of the most famous plays in baseball history, including Kirk Gibson’s hobbling home run in the 1988 World Series and Hank Aaron’s 715th home run. What separates Scully is how often he understood that silence could be more powerful than any line he might write. He laid out after big moments and let ballparks speak for themselves, trusting that fans at home did not need their hands held.

‘Confederate Clark’: Caitlin Clark faces criticism after support from Riley Gaines, Republicans

Indiana Fever point guard Caitlin Clark has been named to the All-Star Game for the third time in as many seasons despite playing a career low in minutes. Unfortunately, a segment of the population seems set on perpetually discussing anything but her outstanding play on the court night after night, even as she deals with a back injury that has lingered throughout the season.

Last week, several Republican members of Congress penned a letter to WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert demanding that the WNBA take action to prevent what they deemed to be ” repeated acts of unnecessary physical hostility and violence” against Clark, and even mentioned that the acts “may be racially motivated.”

In a recent appearance on Fox News, conservative political commentator and former collegiate swimmer Riley Gaines commented on Clark’s treatment by the league and opposing players.

“Here’s what I’ll say about Caitlin Clark,” Gaines said. “It goes without saying that she is the golden goose of the WNBA. Do they hate her because she’s white? Maybe. Do they hate her because she’s straight? Maybe. I think it is rooted in jealousy.”

“I think she was the queen of the WNBA before she ever stepped foot on a WNBA court, and they hate her for it,” she added.

The Indiana Fever quickly attempted to distance the organization from any outside political agendas trying to be attached to its star player, but the damage seems to already have been done. Unfortunately for Gaines and the members of Congress behind the letter, their support has seemed to alienate more people against Clark.

“Caitlin Congress.”

Clark faced criticism for what many perceived to be her flopping in Sunday night’s game win against the Las Vegas Aces, and not only did she face some intense criticism, but some fans on social media slapped her with some unfortunate and undeserving nicknames.

“Confederate Clark back at it again,” one fan posted on X.

“Caitlin is getting bullied and needs more intervention from congress!!!! Karen’s tears after she crumpled to the ground after seeing the missed shot and heard the whistle got the refs to review for ‘hostile act’ after the review she still yelled at the refs. Pathetic,” another fan posted.

Caitlin is an embarrassment to Women’s Basketball! First Calling Congress because they don’t let her get her way plus all the Flopping and showing out on the court like a Toddler! She is Weak and deserves Zero respect in the league!” someone else added.

CaitlinCongress is a classic passive aggressive. If a player has status she’ll pretend they hurt her,” one account wrote.

“None of that is OK.”

What many of her harshest critics fail to realize, however, is that Clark has never voiced support for anyone’s political agenda, and has even come out against the hate that black women around the league have received online.

“The harassment, the hate. None of that is OK …” she said prior to Sunday’s game, via ESPN. “There should never be a question of character like I’ve always stood up here and said that, and that’s truly what I believe, that’s how I was raised. So, none of that is okay, and I don’t want anyone to experience that.”

The WNBA will be in a much better place when the conversations surrounding it are centered on basketball and made in good faith. Hopefully, that will begin to happen sooner rather than later, and more fans will begin to appreciate Clark’s exceptional ability on the court.

Apple And OpenAI Trade Lawsuits Over AI Device Tech Theft, But China’s StepX Neo Quietly Beats Both To A Working AI Phone

A presenter stands in front of a large display that reads 'STEPX Neo' with the tagline 'ONE STEP AHEAD,' featuring an image of a smartphone with dual rear cameras.

Sometimes, as rabbits waste their time on petty feuds and habitual sloth, the tortoise can win the sprint. This is exactly what appears to have happened with StepX and its just-teased Neo AI phone, as Apple and OpenAI remain locked in a high-stakes battle over alleged technology theft related to their upcoming consumer-facing AI devices. StepX Neo clinches the first-mover advantage on the AI phone as Apple and OpenAI remain mired in a technology theft feud As we detailed recently, Apple filed a damning lawsuit against OpenAI last week, accusing it of stealing its proprietary technology, circuit designs, and component […]

Promotional artwork for 'BlizzCon 2026' in Anaheim, CA, featuring characters from Blizzard games in a dynamic pose.

A storm passed through many internal Xbox studios between studio divestitures and mass layoffs, but Activision Blizzard largely emerged unscathed this time around, likely because it's the main money-maker at present. We know that Call of Duty prints money even in off years, for example. But even the Blizzard side has been doing well lately, thanks to a resurgence of its core IPs: Overwatch, Warcraft, and Diablo. That's what Bloomberg's Jason Schreier confirmed in his latest video, while teasing that the company has "a ton" of projects underway, including the rumored StarCraft shooter game. So right now, Blizzard is kind […]

World Cup could expand to 64 teams, FIFA President Gianni Infantino says

The 2026 FIFA World Cup featured the largest field of teams yet, featuring 48 teams compared to the 32 teams previously involved in the tournament. However, it sounds like further expansion could be in the cards.

During a recent interview, FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed that after this World Cup, which is set to conclude next week, FIFA will look into the possibility of further expanding the field.

Possible Expansion?

During a recent interview with Swiss broadcaster Blue Sport, Infantino was asked about the possibility of expanding the field to 64 teams after the recent expansion from 32 teams to 48 teams. Infantino certainly did not rule it out.

“This is certainly an issue that will be looked at and discussed in the relevant committees after this World Cup,” Infantino said via ESPN. “When you organize a World Cup, it’s important that you organize it for the whole world. It’s not just Europe and South America, but the entire world, effectively. Every nation should be able to dream of taking part in the World Cup.

“We can see that the quality of the teams is extremely high, and it’s getting higher and higher everywhere in the world. If you don’t give smaller countries the chance to participate in the World Cup, they also lose the incentive to keep improving.”

Back in March 2025, South American confederation CONMEBOL proposed expanding the field to 64 teams for the 2030 tournament, which marks the World Cup’s centenary.

“We believe in a historic 2030 World Cup. We want to call for unity, creativity and believing big. Because when football is shared by everyone, the celebration is truly global,” CONMEBOL president Alejandro Domínguez said at the time.

What would it look like?

If the 64-team proposal were to be approved, the expanded tournament would double the number of matches played during the previous 32-team format that was used from 1998 to 2022.

A 64-team World Cup would feature 128 matches, whereas the 32-team format used from 1998 to 2022 included 64 matches. This year’s expanded tournament will feature 104 matches.

The biggest benefit to an expanded field would be a cleaner system for teams advancing to the knockout round. In this tournament, eight third-place teams advanced out of the group stage and made the knockout round, using various tiebreakers.. Under an expanded 64-team format, no third-place teams would advance.

Apple Finalized The M7 Chip Design Just Six Months After The M6, As AI Pressures Company To Bring Neural Processing Upgrades Into Overdrive Mode

Apple moved forward with the M7's chip design just six months after the M6 due to AI

The proliferation of AI has certainly caused a long-term crisis in the computing landscape, but if there’s one positive to gain from all of this, it’s that companies are aggressively pushing towards designing chips of superior capabilities to tackle the competition at a fiercer pace. Unsurprisingly, one of those companies is Apple, which reportedly taped out the M7 just six months after the same process was completed for the M6. This would explain why the M6 Pro and M6 Max won’t arrive at all, as they will instead be replaced by the M7 Pro and M7 Max. The M7 will […]

Best PC Parts Deals And Gaming Builds Of July 2026

A close-up of a motherboard featuring the 'Republic of Gamers' branding, overlaid with a graphic from Wccftech reading 'Best PC Parts & Builds Deals July 2026.'

Building a gaming PC in 2026 has become considerably more expensive than it was only a year or so ago, and graphics cards are not solely responsible this time. The ongoing memory shortage has driven up the cost of all DRAM and NAND flash-based products, such as memory kits, SSDs, and graphics cards. For that reason, we consider approximately $1,000 to be the realistic starting point for a decent new gaming PC in July 2026. Even then, some compromises are unavoidable. Moving up to higher pricing tiers allows progressively stronger CPUs and GPUs, not to mention higher system memory and […]

Huawei Aims To Reduce The DRAM Supply Shortage With An Approach Only The Brave And The Bold Can Execute; Building Its Own Fabrication Plant

Huawei is building its own DRAM manufacturing plant

A smart tactic currently employed by companies to minimize the DRAM shortage risk is bringing in as many suppliers as possible, just like how Apple is doing by testing CXMT’s memory chips. However, Huawei has formed a different strategy, and with the help of various entities, the Chinese firm aims to circumvent the U.S. trade sanctions and the pitfalls of the AI boom by establishing its own memory manufacturing facility. With the help of the government and Swaysure, Huawei could introduce its own DRAM manufacturing plant with a capacity of 140,000 wafers per month Crucial details shared by @SemiconductorsX reveal that […]

Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes Review – Sometimes, You Have to Roll a Hard six

Several large Starships orbit a planet with fiery eruptions in space, featuring the title 'Battlestar Galactica Scattered Hopes'.

Anybody who knows me knows I am a sucker for Sci-Fi, and two of my favourite space-based series are Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica. While this is a late review of the game, it's one that was sitting in my inbox and one that I felt that I should do for a few reasons: I'm a fan of the series, I enjoyed Star Trek Voyager: Across the Unknown when I reviewed it four months ago, and I am a fan of FTL-like games. Not picking up Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes and covering it, whatever it turned out like, would clearly […]

AMD’s “PEPS” Research Pushes Neural Texture Compression Further, Cutting Model Parameters By 25% At Comparable Quality

The image features the AMD logo with the text 'FSR | Neural Texture Block Compression' alongside a futuristic aircraft design and diagrams labeled 'Multi-resolution feature grids.'

AMD presented new research at the I3D Symposium titled "PEPS: Positional Encoding Projected Sampling", introducing a new method for positional encoding that can improve neural texture compression. How Does Neural Texture Compression Work? Neural Texture Compression works by training what are known as INRs, or “Implicit Neural Representations,” to learn coordinate-to-signal functions. By projecting texture coordinates into a higher-dimensional embedding and feeding this information to a multi-layer perceptron, it's possible to represent and compress textures significantly. PEPS: Positional Encoding Projected Sampling PEPS introduces a new method to improve the efficiency of this process by changing how positional encoding is used. […]

iPhone 18 Pro Unlikely To Use CXMT DRAM Due To Deep Integration Between A20 Pro’s Newer Packaging And Samsung, SK hynix Memory; Rumor Shares One Silver Lining

The deep integration of Apple's A20 Pro and Korean DRAM might make it difficult for the iPhone 18 Pro models to feature Chinese memory

The industry is hyping up the alliance between Chinese memory manufacturer CXMT and Apple, with the latter previously reported to have begun testing the company’s DRAM chips for use in future products. Unfortunately, a new rumor buries any hope that these modules will be found in the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, and it’s not due to any political pressure. Apparently, it’s a technological limitation involving the A20 Pro’s Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module Packaging (WMCM). All hope isn’t lost because Apple’s standard A20 found in the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e could still be paired with CXMT DRAM For […]

Anthropic’s Terrifying Billing Glitch Charged A Software Developer $16.6 Million For Using Claude API, Despite The Dashboard Showing A $0.00 Amount

Anthropic charged a software developer $16.6 million for using Claude API

AI chatbots are notorious for hallucinating, but what about the companies behind those Large Language Models like Anthropic? One Korean software developer could add to that, given he just faced a soul-crushing experience where he was billed a ludicrous $16.6 million for using its Claude API. The horrifying part about this ordeal was that it wasn’t a sophisticated phishing attempt or an elaborate scam; the source was a verified Anthropic billing domain. What’s even more perplexing is that the developer’s dashboard stated that there were zero incurred bills, and yet, the developer was charged a mammoth sum. The billing history […]

The image features cover art for the games 'Avowed' and 'Shadowrun Collection,' with a skeletal figure for Avowed and futuristic characters for Shadowrun.

[UPDATE - July 10, 2026] Jason Schreier is essentially backing Avellone's rumor in his latest YouTube video: By the way, quick side note is that Obsidian actually have a small team that was working on Avowed 2 that is still going to keep working on Avowed 2 even though it is canceled while they wait for other projects like Fallout to be ready for them. And maybe in hopes of getting it uncancelled. Maybe it was actually farther along than I think people would expect for a sequel to a game that came out last year. So, I think their […]
