Norway June 2026: Tesla down -42.9%, Kia Niro up to #2

13 July 2026 at 15:21

The Kia Niro is the 2nd best-selling car in Norway in June.

19,558 new cars were registered in Norway in June, up 6.4% year-on-year. However the H1 2026 tally is in negative at -2.8% to 73,403. BEV sales are up 6% to 18,875 and 96.5% share vs. 96.9% a year ago in June 2025. The year-to-date BEV share stands at 97.6% vs. 93.7% over the same period in 2025. As for HEVs they are up 49.8% to 334 and 1.7% share, PHEVs up 15.1% to 175 and 0.9% share, diesel is at 0.8% and petrol at 0.1%.

Telsa (-42.9%) sinks in the brands ranking to β€œjust” 16.5% share vs. 30.7% a year ago in June 2025. In contrast Toyota (+129.2%) surges ahead to 13.2% of the market vs. 11.9% so far this year (+27.2%). Volvo (+37.6%) overtakes Volkswagen (-31.7%) to step up to third place with 8.7% share. For its part Kia (+511.%) shoots up 9 ranks on May to land at #5, this due to a single model as we’ll see further down. BMW (+13.9%) is soft at #6 while Xpeng (+122.5%) advances to #7 and becomes the best-selling Chinese brand YTD above BYD (-17%).Β

Over in the models charts, the Tesla Model Y (-54.9%) unsurprisingly stays on top despite a ghastly year-on-year fall. We have a surprise in 2nd spot: discontinued here in 2024, the Kia Niro is back thanks to a Limited Edition of 1,350 vehicles reintroduced this year with aΒ price that just sneaks under the VAT threshold of 300,000 kroner. These are newly produced cars from March/April, not old stock cars. The Tesla Model 3 (+50.4%) performs much better than its stablemate and climbs back up to #3. The new Toyota Urban Cruiser and Volvo EX30 (+60.7%) complete the Top 5.

Slovenia June 2026: Tesla Model 3 leads, Renault Twingo inside Top 10

13 July 2026 at 14:09

The Slovenian new car market shoots up 29.8% year-on-year in June to 6,684 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 17.3% to 35,343. Volkswagen (+17.9%) stays atop the brands charts at 12.9% share ahead of Renault (+0.5%) at 12%. Tesla (+323.6%) surges 21 spots on May to land at #3 overall with an exceptional 9.4% share, both records beating the previous best of #4 and 6.2% reached last March. The American brand now ranks #9 year-to-date vs. #16 over the Full Year 2025. Skoda (+0.7%) falls to #4 but remains #2 year-to-date. Opel (+100%), Ford (+39.2%) and Dacia (+38.6%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10. Leapmotor is the best-selling recent brand launch at #17 but is down five ranks on last month.

Model-wise, the Tesla Model 3 (+954.3%) is up 10-fold year-on-year to snap its second ever Slovenian win after last March and smashes its share record at 7.3%. The Renault Clio (-27.3%) is in complete freefall but manages to climb back up to #2 and to the #1 YTD place. The Renault Captur (-17.3%) and Skoda Octavia (-20.6%) also suffer greatly. In contrast the Ford Kuga (+182.4%), Peugeot 2008 (+92.2%) and VW Tiguan (+36.9%) all have a great month below. Produced locally, the new Renault Twingo is up 30 spots on last month to break into the Slovenian Top 10 at #8. This is believed to be the first Top 10 ranking for the new retro-styled vehicles, as it ranks #15 at home in France this month. The Telsa Model Y (+39.2%) and VW T-Roc (+45.2%) complete the Top 10 in solid fashion.

Previous month: Slovenia May 2026: Renault Clio leads, Leapmotor up to #12 brand

One year ago: Slovenia June 2025: Renault Clio and Captur now in the YTD lead

Romania June 2026: Market up 51.9%, Tesla at highest in 2.5 years

10 July 2026 at 07:42

The Tesla Model 3 is up to #7 in Romania in June.

16,120 new cars hit Romanian roads in June, a spectacular 51.9% year-on-year improvement. However keep in mind that June 2025 was off a daunting -50.3% on the year prior. As a result we remain well below the 21,358 units registered in June 2024. Nevertheless the YTD tally tilts into positive for just 32 sales at 64,853 (+0.05%). Local behemoth Dacia (+4.2%) remains in great difficulty in context and sees its share tumble down from 25.9% in June 2025 to just 17.7% this month. Toyota (+26.7%), Skoda (+32.6%) and Volkswagen (+40.6%) follow but all trail the market.

Renault (+65.9%) is up five spots to May to #5 but the best performer in the Top 10 is Tesla up 2532% year-on-year to #7 and 658 sales for a 4.1% share. This is the American brand’s highest ever ranking in Romania (also reached in July 2023 and January 2024), a record volume and best share since hitting 4.4% in January 2024. Ireland June 2026: Tesla at 35.6% share, Mercedes CLA in Top 10

8 July 2026 at 05:54

The Tesla Model 3 is the best-selling vehicle in Ireland in June with 19.9% share.

New car sales in Ireland traditionally slow down in the lead to the biannual licence plate change of July, and June volumes are down -10.2% year-on-year to just 2,187. The year-to-date tally is up 4.2% to 85,188. This month Tesla (+43.7%) suffocates the market with 35.6% share, or more than 1 in 3 vehicles sold. In fact five of the Top 6 brands vastly outpace the overall growth rate with at least double-digit gains. Mercedes (+308.3%) is the most impressive followed by BMW (+111.3%), Skoda (+56.7%) and Toyota (+51.9%). The odd one out is Volkswagen (-6.4%) at #5. Audi (+82.9%) also impresses at #9.

Like last year, Tesla manages a 1-2 with the Model 3 (+47%) in the lead at 19.9% share and the Model Y (+39.8%) at #2 with 15.7% of the market, selling over 5 times the amount of the #3, the Skoda Octavia (-1.5%). The Toyota Corolla (+87.5%) and RAV4 (+51.5%) brilliantly round out the Top 5 but are not as dynamic as the Skoda Enyaq (+462.5%), Mercedes CLA (+2050%) and E Class (+1333.3%). Leader year-to-date, the Toyota Yaris Cross (+42.9%) falls to #9 while the VW Tiguan (+81.8%) closes the Top 10.

Previous month: Ireland May 2026: Toyota RAV4 repeats at #1 in market up 38.3%

One year ago: Ireland June 2025: Tesla at 22.2% share, Smart #1 up to #3

Finland June 2026: Toyota bZ4X and BMW iX3 break records

7 July 2026 at 10:14

First Finnish Top 10 finish for the BMW iX3.

7,433 new cars hit Finnish roads in June, a small 1.9% year-on-year improvement. This is enough to tilt the year-to-date volume into positive territory, albeit by just 7 sales at 36,585. Toyota (+70.6%) posts another fantastic month, climbing to 21.9% share, its highest since last October (22%). Skoda (+17.7%) overtakes a plunging Volkswagen (-35.9%) which was #1 a year ago in June 2025. Mercedes (+52.1%), Tesla (+70.4%) and BMW (+39.9%) are all on a roll below. In contrast Volvo (-20.3%) and Kia (-56.4%) implode. Excellent performances by Audi (+31.2%), Seat (+40.8%), Cupra (+173.7%), BYD (+553.8%) and Smart (+204.5%).

For the second month in a row, Toyota places five models inside the Top 6: the Corolla (+84.3%) repeats at #1 followed by the Yaris (+64.7%). The bZ4x (+3400%) surges to third place with 350 sales and 4.7% share, both records. The Yaris Cross (-15.5%) is down three spots on May to #5 and the C-HR (+108.6%) down one to #6. The Tesla Model Y (+63.7%) is once again the odd one out, this time at #4. The new Mercedes CLA (+1530.8%) continues to make waves at #6, with the VW T-Roc (+608.7%) and Tesla Model 3 (+85%) both in outstanding shape. Finally the BMW iX3 breaks into the Top 10 for the first time at #10.
