Mexico June 2026: Renault Kwid breaks records in strongest market in 9 years

15 July 2026 at 17:30

The Renault Kwid breaks into the Mexican Top 5 for the first time.

New light vehicle sales in Mexico are up 7.5% year-on-year in June to 126,902 units on revised June 2025 figures. This is the highest June result in 9 years: since the 127,419 registrations of June 2017. The year-to-date tally is now up 5.3% to 754,521. This is a new H1 record, beating the previous best of 743,105 in 2017. Nissan (-8.9%) is once again the favourite carmaker in the country but sees its share thaw to 15.2% vs. 16.8% so far this year. Chevrolet (+3.1%) on the other hand progresses but at 11% share it is also below the 12.1% it commands over H1. Volkswagen (+7.4%) matches the market and overtakes Toyota (+4.9%) while Kia (+1%) is back above Mazda (+30.9%). MG (+32.7%) and Hyundai (+15.3%) both shine but not as much as Geely, up 161.2% to #10.Β

In the models charts, the Nissan Versa (-2.8%) reclaims the top spot after three months of reign by the Chevrolet Aveo (+43.5%), still shooting up and ending the month just 26 sales below the Versa. The Kia K3 (+13.5%) remains at #3 ahead of the Nissan NP300 (-21%) in freefall but back up on spot on May to #4. The Renault Kwid (+92.8%) surges 14 spots on last month to #5 with 2,985 sales and 2.4% share. This is the nameplate’s first incursion inside the Mexican Top 5 (previous best #6 in May 2022), a new volume record (previous best 2,791 in December 2023) and equal share all time high (2.4% also reached in May 2022). For its part the MG 5 (+285.9%) does even better YoY and climbs back to #6. Excellent scores also by the Mazda2 (+55.1%), Hyundai Creta (+81.9%) and Ram 1200 (+85.3%). The Geely Emgrand (+70.1%) advances to a record 12th place.

Previous month: Mexico May 2026: Record market, Nissan Magnite, Chevrolet S10 at all time high

One year ago: Mexico June 2025: Ram (+93.7%) highlights negative market

Vietnam June 2026: VinFast up 57.7%, Limo Green #1 again

15 July 2026 at 14:40

The VinFast Limo Green is the best-selling vehicle in Vietnam in June.

According to data by VAMA, Hyundai and VinFast, the Vietnamese new vehicle market is up 11.1% year-on-year in June to 52,805 units, leading to a H1 tally up 29.1% to 328,818 (locally made vehicles only). Local EV maker VinFast continues on its dominant show, with sales up a whopping 57.7% to 34% share. This is however below the 35.3% it holds year-to-date. Toyota (+4.5%) and Thaco-Kia (+4.4%) are shy below while Hyundai (-10.7%) underperforms again. Suzuki (+35.4%) and Honda (+31.5%) shine but Ford (-34.2%), Mazda (-18.1%) and Mitsubishi (-13.8%) fall apart.

Over in the models charts, VinFast β€œonly” monopolises the Top 4 vs. Top 5 over the past four months. The new Limo Green lodges a 7th win in the past 8 months at 7.3% share, distancing the VF 3 (-3.2%), VF 5 (+9.9%) and VF 6 (+140%). The Toyota Innova Cross (+100.2%) doubles its sales year-on-year, is up 13 spots on May to become the best of the rest at #5. Meanwhile the VinFast VF 7 (+98.2%) soars to #7 and the new MPV 7 is down three ranks to #7. Notice also the Toyota Hilux (+257.1%) and Honda City (+185.9%) posting fantastic gains below.

Cyprus June 2026: BYD up to record 9.8% share, places Atto 3 at #2

15 July 2026 at 12:40

The BYD Atto 3 is the 2nd best-selling vehicle in Cyprus in June. (Evo model pictured)

According to our local partners SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT, new car sales in Cyprus skid -15.9% year-on-year in June to just 1,133 units. The H1 2026 volume is now down -11.9% to 7,244. Despite a ghastly YoY fall, Kia (-36%) remains the most popular carmaker in the country, albeit by just one sale above Toyota (+19%) in outstanding shape. Newcomer BYD repeats at an all-time high #3 but smashes its volume (111) and share (9.8%) records. Hyundai (-43.8%) falls apart and #4 and Skoda (+30.6%) rounds out the Top 5. BMW (+24.4%) also shines at #6.

The Kia Stonic (-8.2%) confirms it is the best-selling nameplate in Cyprus at 5.9% share vs. 5.4% so far this year. The new BYD Atto 3 surges from outside the May Top 20 directly into a new record 2nd place, eclipsing its previous best of #3 reached last January. In fact BYD also places the Seal U at #7 and the Dolphin Surf at #11. The Renault Captur (+650%) stuns at #5 and the Toyota Yaris Cross (+81%) also impresses. The Ford Puma (+188.9%) also posts a surreal gain in the remainder of the Top 10. The Top 14 best-selling models are all SUVs.

USA June/Q2 2026: Hybrids spur market up 7.9%, Nissan and Stellantis recover

13 July 2026 at 22:33

Nissan Rogue sales are up 38.6% over Q2.

New light vehicle sales in the U.S. are up 7.9% year-on-year in June to 1.4 million units according to GlobalData. The Seasonally adjusted annualised rate of sales (SAAR) is up from 15.95 million a year ago in June 2025 to 16.6 million, also ahead of May’s 16.21 million. Q2 volumes edge up 0.6% to 4,238,996. According to JD Power and GlobalData average incentives are up 13% year-on-year in June toΒ $3,217. Incentives on non-electric vehicles are up 19% to $2,970 while incentives on EVs are up just 3.1% to $9,824. Hybrids account for 16% of the US market in June, up from 13.7% in June 2025 with EV’s share at 7.4%.

Over the second quarter of the year, General Motors (-4.2%) remains the most successful OEM in the country ahead of Toyota Motor (+1.1%). However this is GM’s third consecutive quarterly decline. Ford Motor (-10.4%) takes a big hit, but the next six manufacturers all beat the market. Notably, Nissan Group (+9.2%) and Stellantis (+5.7%) recover, with the VW Group also up significantly at +9.8%. American Honda (+8.4%) impresses while Hyundai-Kia (+3.5%) is also up.

Toyota (+2.6%) is once again the most popular marque and extends its gap over #2 Ford (-10.1%) to above 65,000 units over Q2. Chevrolet (-3.8%) is also in difficulty in third place. Nissan shoots up 10.2% in Q1 and announced it has posted 16 consecutive months of year-over year retail U.S. sales increases. Honda (+9.4%) also delivers a very solid gain, with Subaru (+6.8%), Hyundai (+4%) and Kia (+2.8%) in shape. Further down, Chrysler (+80%), Volkswagen (+24.9%) and BMW (+13%) stand out.

Model-wise, the Ford F-Series (-11%) hits a wall, as a fire at a key supplier handicapped production. The Chevrolet Silverado (-7.3%) also struggles at #2 but the Honda CR-V (+16%) confirms it is the new SUV champion in the US. Indeed the Toyota RAV4 (-24.2%) continues on its difficult generation changeover and is down to #7 for the quarter. The Ram Pickup (+14.3%) is in great shape as is the Toyota Camry (+18.5%) while the GMC Sierra (+5%) is softer. The Tesla Model Y (+2.7%) falls to #8 ahead of the Honda Civic (+8.1%) and Toyota Tacoma (+5%). Excellent performances below by the Nissan Rogue (+38.6%), Ford Explorer (+13.8%) and Honda Accord (+41.2%).

Previous month: USA May 2026: Mazda (+35%), Honda (+10.5%), Subaru (+10.4%) impress, sedans up

One year ago: USA June/Q2 2025: Ford (+13.6%) overtakes Toyota (+7.1%) as #1 brand in weakening market

Norway June 2026: Tesla down -42.9%, Kia Niro up to #2

13 July 2026 at 15:21

The Kia Niro is the 2nd best-selling car in Norway in June.

19,558 new cars were registered in Norway in June, up 6.4% year-on-year. However the H1 2026 tally is in negative at -2.8% to 73,403. BEV sales are up 6% to 18,875 and 96.5% share vs. 96.9% a year ago in June 2025. The year-to-date BEV share stands at 97.6% vs. 93.7% over the same period in 2025. As for HEVs they are up 49.8% to 334 and 1.7% share, PHEVs up 15.1% to 175 and 0.9% share, diesel is at 0.8% and petrol at 0.1%.

Telsa (-42.9%) sinks in the brands ranking to β€œjust” 16.5% share vs. 30.7% a year ago in June 2025. In contrast Toyota (+129.2%) surges ahead to 13.2% of the market vs. 11.9% so far this year (+27.2%). Volvo (+37.6%) overtakes Volkswagen (-31.7%) to step up to third place with 8.7% share. For its part Kia (+511.%) shoots up 9 ranks on May to land at #5, this due to a single model as we’ll see further down. BMW (+13.9%) is soft at #6 while Xpeng (+122.5%) advances to #7 and becomes the best-selling Chinese brand YTD above BYD (-17%).Β

Over in the models charts, the Tesla Model Y (-54.9%) unsurprisingly stays on top despite a ghastly year-on-year fall. We have a surprise in 2nd spot: discontinued here in 2024, the Kia Niro is back thanks to a Limited Edition of 1,350 vehicles reintroduced this year with aΒ price that just sneaks under the VAT threshold of 300,000 kroner. These are newly produced cars from March/April, not old stock cars. The Tesla Model 3 (+50.4%) performs much better than its stablemate and climbs back up to #3. The new Toyota Urban Cruiser and Volvo EX30 (+60.7%) complete the Top 5.

Previous month: Norway May 2026: Tesla celebrates 100,000th Model Y sold in highest market in 40 years

Germany June 2026: BEVs up 78.2%, Tesla up 317.6%, Model Y and BMW X3 shoot up

8 July 2026 at 13:33

37% of BMW X3 sales in June come from the iX3 BEV variant.

296,378 new cars hit German roads in June, a very solid 15.7% year-on-year improvement. Keep in mind June 2025 was off -13.8% on the year prior. The H1 2026 volume is up 5.8% to 1,484,393. This is to be compared with pre-pandemicΒ June 2019 levels of 325,231 sales for the month and 1,849,000 YTD. BEV sales surge 78.2% to 84,057 and 28.4% share vs. 18.4% in June 2025 and 14.6% two years ago. So far this year, BEVs are up 48% to 368,006 and 24.8% share vs. 17.7% over the same period in 2025 and 12.5% in 2024. PHEVs advance 25.8% to 32,212 and 10.9% share vs. 10% last year and are up 17.9% YTD to 163,793 and 11% share vs. 9.9%.

The Tesla Model Y ranks #3 in Germany in June.

Brand leader Volkswagen (+5.9%) trails its home market and sees its share thaw to 17.2% vs. 18.8% a year ago and 18.4% year-to-date (-4.3%). BMW (+18.6%) reclaims the 2nd spot for the first time this year, with Skoda (+23.5%) also up on rank on last month to #3. Mercedes (+5.9%) falls to #4 and is passed by BMW in the year-to-date ranking. Audi (+17.1%) also shines but is a distant 5th. Seat (+23.8%) and Dacia (+22.1%) are in great shape, with the latter hitting its highest volume since scrappage scheme-crazy 2009. Outside the Top 10, Tesla (+317.6%) and BYD (+273.7%) post surreal gains with Cupra (+39.8%) and Renault (+30.8%) also robust.Β

The Renault Twingo is already the best-selling recent launch in Germany.

Over in the models charts, the VW Golf (+10.4%) manages to increase the gap with the #2, the VW T-Roc (+1.8%) at 2.7% share vs. 2.3%. The Tesla Model Y (+361.9%) surges 23 spots on May to land in third place overall, its best performance since last March. The VW Tiguan (+18.1%) is relegated to 4th place despite a solid gain. The BMW X1 (+18.5%) is also strong at #5, with 49% of its June volume coming from the iX1 BEV variant. The Mini lineup (+59.7%) repeats at #6 ahead of the Mercedes GLC (+67.8%) and Skoda Octavia (+22.4%). The BMW X3 soars 111.7% to #10, the iX3 BEV version representing 37% of its total sales. The best-selling recent launch is the Renault Twingo (#118) ahead of the Kia EV2 (#120) and Mitsubishi Grandis (#128).

Previous month: Germany May 2026: BEVs up 39.3%, BYD (+232.1%) breaks ranking record again at #12

One year ago: Germany June 2025: Market falls -13.8%, VW off -20.7%, Opel Corsa on podium

15,100 new passenger cars were registered in Hungary in June, a fantastic +31.2% year-on-year improvement. The year-to-date tally halfway through the year is up 74,905, up 13.3% on H1 2025. Including LCV the June tally stands at 17,686 with H1 volumes up 11.3% to 86,697. Skoda (+74.1%) threepeats at #1 in the PC brands ranking with 11.3% share vs. 9.9% over H1, keeping YTD leader Toyota (+25%) in 2nd place. Suzuki (+26.8%) is up 26.8% to #3. Nissan shoots up 468.6% to #4 and 7.1% share and ranks #3 year-to-date at +89.6% to 9.1% share. However this is almost entirely due to reexports which account for a whopping 81.4% of its sales over the First Half of 2025. The average reexport ratio is 18.7% vs. 21.8% last year. BYD (+227.2%), Hyundai (+45.8%) and MG (+41%) also shine below. Over in the PC+LCV brands ranking and over H1, Toyota (+16.1%) leads the way with 11.5% share above Ford (-16.6%) and Skoda (+25.9%). Nissan is up 86.1% to #4.

Looking at models (PC+LCV), the Skoda Octavia (+78%) is in the lead above the Nissan Qashqai (+713.7%), the latter owing its score to roughly 80% reexports. The Suzuki S-Cross (+68.7%) and Vitara (+33.5%) follow with the Toyota Corolla (+45.1%), Hyundai Tucson (+194%) and Kia Sportage (+69.7%) in tow. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+54%), Skoda Kodiaq (+41.9%) and Toyota C-HR (+21.8%) also make it into the Top 10. Denmark June 2026: Tesla Model Y distant leader, Vinfast lands with 2.6% share

7 July 2026 at 12:45

Vinfast has landed in the Danish market.

The Danish new car market shoots up 12.8% year-on-year in June to 21,487 units. This way, the H1 volume is also up 12.8% to 101,032. BEVs account for 79.1% of the market for the month and 79.9% so far this year. Toyota (+126.6%) continues to post stratospheric gains, and distances a plunging Volkswagen (-33.1%). Tesla (+38.7%), Mercedes (+31.9%) and BMW (+22.9%) also impress and round out the Top 5. But Kia (+86.3%) is the only additional Top 10 member to beat the market. Just outside, Xpeng surges 229.5% to #11 and we welcome a new EV brand in the charts: Vietnamese Vinfast, landing directly at #13 with 2.6% share. However this is dedicated to ride-sharing and taxi firm Green SM, with private consumer sales unavailable at this stage.

Model-wise, the Tesla Model Y (+17.3%) repeats at a distant #1 for its second win this year but stays at #3 year-to-date. The Toyota bZ4X (+1175.4%) posts an extravagant YoY uptick at #2, as does the Kia Niro (+1733.3%) at #3. The Skoda Enyaq (+47.6%) is also in great shape while the Xpeng G6 (+279.1%) scores its second highest ever ranking at #5 (best is #4 in November 2024). Still leader year-to-date as it was also over the Full Year 2025, the Skoda Elroq (-71.3%) completely implodes YoY to #6. The Toyota C-HR+ is the most popular recent launch again at #9, followed by the VinFast VF 8 at #21.

Previous month: Denmark May 2026: BEVs at 78.7% share, Tesla and Toyota shoot up

One year ago: Denmark June 2025: Skoda Elroq up to 8.8% share

Finland June 2026: Toyota bZ4X and BMW iX3 break records

7 July 2026 at 10:14

First Finnish Top 10 finish for the BMW iX3.

7,433 new cars hit Finnish roads in June, a small 1.9% year-on-year improvement. This is enough to tilt the year-to-date volume into positive territory, albeit by just 7 sales at 36,585. Toyota (+70.6%) posts another fantastic month, climbing to 21.9% share, its highest since last October (22%). Skoda (+17.7%) overtakes a plunging Volkswagen (-35.9%) which was #1 a year ago in June 2025. Mercedes (+52.1%), Tesla (+70.4%) and BMW (+39.9%) are all on a roll below. In contrast Volvo (-20.3%) and Kia (-56.4%) implode. Excellent performances by Audi (+31.2%), Seat (+40.8%), Cupra (+173.7%), BYD (+553.8%) and Smart (+204.5%).

For the second month in a row, Toyota places five models inside the Top 6: the Corolla (+84.3%) repeats at #1 followed by the Yaris (+64.7%). The bZ4x (+3400%) surges to third place with 350 sales and 4.7% share, both records. The Yaris Cross (-15.5%) is down three spots on May to #5 and the C-HR (+108.6%) down one to #6. The Tesla Model Y (+63.7%) is once again the odd one out, this time at #4. The new Mercedes CLA (+1530.8%) continues to make waves at #6, with the VW T-Roc (+608.7%) and Tesla Model 3 (+85%) both in outstanding shape. Finally the BMW iX3 breaks into the Top 10 for the first time at #10.

Sweden June 2026: Volvo XC60 now #1 YTD, BMW iX3 up to record #7

6 July 2026 at 10:40

The BMW iX3 breaks into the Swedish Top 10 for the first time.

The Swedish new car market is up 8% year-on-year in June to 29,759 units, tilting the H1 volume into positive territory at +0.6% to 141,851. BEV sales are up 21.3% year-on-year to 13,014 and 43.7% share vs. 38.9% a year ago in June 2025 while PHEVs gain 3.5% to 7,515 and 25.3% share vs. 26.4% last year. This means rechargeable vehicles hold a mammoth 69% share in June vs. 65.3% a year ago. Volvo (+16.6%) brilliantly doubles its home market’s growth rate to reach 18.4% share vs. 17.3% year-to-date. It is followed like last month by Volkswagen (-5.5%), Kia (+32.8%) and Toyota (+32.1%). BMW (+23.7%) completes the Top 5 in very solid fashion. The biggest gainer in the Top 10 is however Tesla (+56.3%) up to #8. Lynk & Co (+365.9%) and BYD (+350.6%) shoot up below.

The Top 5 models all outpace the market with double-digit gains. The Volvo XC60 (+23.1%) is back in charge for the first time this year with a stunning 7% share, grabbing the YTD leadership in the process. The Tesla Model Y (+57.4%) is up one spot on last month to #2, distancing the Volvo EX/XC40 (+34.4%), Polestar 4 (+21.2%) and VW Tiguan (+50.2%). This the Polestar’s best ranking since last December (#3). Below the Volvo EX30 (-2.5%), the BMW iX3 (+3426.7%) breaks into the Top 10 for the first time, landing at a spectacular 7th place overall with 1.8% share. It ranks #22 year-to-date. The Kia EV2 (#19) is the best-selling recent launch above the Kia EV5 (#23), Volvo EX60 (#41 for its 1st month) and Mazda 6e (#42).

Previous month: Sweden May 2026: Tesla (+70.6%), Kia (+23.7%) strong in stable market

One year ago: Sweden June 2025: Polestar 4 breaks into Top 5

Freedom Holding, Nokia launch Innovation Center to develop fintech and consumer services

Freedom Telecom International has opened a Silicon Valley Innovation Center with Nokia near Nokia’s Sunnyvale campus, creating a collaborative space focused on next-gen digital infrastructure, AI, cloud technologies for telecom-fintech convergence, and state-of-the-art consumer applications.

Complementary to Nokia’s recently launchedΒ AI Networking Innovation Lab, the center will serve as a testing ground for joint initiatives across Freedom Holding Corp. (FRHC), Freedom Telecom International, Freedom Lifestyle Group, and Nokia, where teams can experiment, build, test, evaluate, and demonstrate digital solutions designed for direct application across FRHC’s operational footprint.

The collaboration combines Nokia’s expertise in networks, cloud, edge computing, and AI-ready infrastructure with Freedom Holding Corp.’s expanding ecosystem in finance, banking, insurance, telecom, payments, e-commerce, and lifestyle services. The parties are determined to discover and develop the most promising next-generation digital infrastructure solutions. Early focus will be on AI data center blueprints, cloud infrastructure and advanced networking, 5G and edge use cases, and enabling AI-powered consumer services.

By being located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the center will bring together:

  • Nokia’s infrastructure, engineering expertise, global innovation network, and technology testbeds;
  • Freedom’s ecosystem, market access, investment capabilities, and experience scaling digital financial and lifestyle services;
  • Silicon Valley’s unique energy: the closeness of all technology partners, world-class entrepreneurs and world-class tech talent.

During the opening ceremony, Timur Turlov, CEO of Freedom Holding Corp., said, β€œFinancial services represent a tremendous global opportunity due to their inefficiencies. Too much time, effort, and human capital are spent on processes that can already be automated. We have proven that it is possible to approve a mortgage within hours, and this encourages us to completely rethink the role of traditional structures. AI opens our horizon and allows us to tackle complex processes which can be redesigned and assisted through its capabilities. I trust our partner, Nokia, that together we can move our ideas to real, scalable solutions for the benefit of our ecosystem.”

Mikko Lavanti from Nokia commented, β€œThis partnership is about delivering tangible value together. At Nokia, we bring deep expertise in designing and deploying high-performance AI infrastructure at scale, backed by a strong track record of innovation. We are proud to support Freedom in launching state-of-the-art consumer applications across its markets, helping to accelerate its AI ambitions with resilient and future-ready infrastructure.”
