India June 2026: Tata manages 1-2 with Punch and Nexon, Toyota Ebella lands

14 July 2026 at 19:24

A facelift pushes the Tata Punch to its first win in 2 years.

New vehicle wholesales in India soar 25.8% year-on-year in June to 391,968 units, a new record for the month eclipsing theΒ 339,418 units of June 2024. Maruti Suzuki (+23.8%) trails its home market slightly but still holds a commendable 37.6% share. Tata (+67.4%) surges ahead to 15.8% share vs. 14.6% so far this year while Mahindra advances +27.7% at #3. Hyundai (-10%) is completely overwhelmed in 4th place. Nissan (+128.9%) posts the biggest YoY gain in market but only holds 0.8% share. Renault (+54.8%), Citroen (+43.8%) and MG (+29.8%) also shine.

Model-wise, Tata manages a historic 1-2 for the first time. It places the Punch (+101.1%) at #1 for its first win since June 2024 and a new record volume above 21,000 units, and the Nexon (+58%) at #2. Leader last month, the Maruti Suzuki DZire (+15.6%) falls to #3, followed by the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R (+31.1%) and Ertiga (+13.9%). Other Top 10 members beating the market are the Hyundai Venue (+57.1%), Maruti Suzuki Baleno (+39.3%) and Fronx (+33.8%). Below, the Maruti Suzuki Alto (+105.9%) impresses. The Maruti Suzuki Victoris (#15) is the best-selling recent launch above the Mahindra XUV 7X0 (#18) and Tata Sierra (#27). We welcome the Toyota Ebella EV (aka Urban Cruiser) at #69 with 459 sales.

China wholesales June 2026: Leapmotor breaks volume record, market down -23%, exports (+75%) above 1 million

14 July 2026 at 17:31

The Leapmotor A10 is up to #3 overall for its 4th month in market.

According to data by CAAM, wholesales of Chinese-made vehicles are down -3.2% year-on-year in June to 2,810,000 units, after rising 14% to 2,904,000 in June 2025. However this includes exports. Domestic wholesales in contrast dive -23% to just 1,773,000 after gaining 10% to 2,312,000 last year. Exports surge 75% to surpass the monthly million unit mark for the first time at 1,037,000, up from 592,000 a year ago. Total sales of light passenger vehicles are down -5,.3% to 2,402,000 while commercial vehicles are up 11% to 408,000. Production is off -1.2% to 2,760,000. Sales have beenΒ affected by the withdrawal of some government subsidies and tax exemptions for new energy vehicles (NEVs) at the end of last year.

In the brands ranking, BYD (-44.3%) lodges another disastrous month, its steepest fall since last February, but stays on top for the 4th month in a row, reclaiming the YTD top spot in the process. The Sealion 05 (+10.7%), Yuan UP (+16.9%) and Song Pro (-12.3%) are the brand’s best-seller, with such blockbusters as the Dolphin (-28.2%), Qin L (-68%), Qin PLUS (-64.5%), Seagull (-68%) and Song L (-77.1%) all hitting a wall. The new Sealion 06 (16,843), Song Ultra (11,423) and Great Tang (2,451) prevent the marque’s overall fall to be even steeper. Geely (-15.5%) also suffers but outpaces the market’s decline. Its best-seller the Xingyuan (-18.4%) falls but stays atop the models charts, while the Galaxy sub-brand, now composed of no less than 10 models, adds up to 35,528 sales, up 56.5% year-on-year.

Toyota (-25.6%) is up to #3 for the 5th time in the past seven months, distancing a freefalling Volkswagen (-41%). Repeating at a record 5th place, Leapmotor (+61.1%) blissfully ignores the market decline and advances to an all-time high 72,376 sales. Tesla (-13.9%) follows ahead of Chery (-23.3%) and Wuling (-23%). Xiaomi (+36.4%) comes back into the Top 10 for the second time in the past three months at #9 with BMW (-32.7%), in perdition, rounding out the Top 10. Xpeng (+5.7%) is up 10 spots on last month to reach a best-ever #12, also hit in February 2025. Arcfox (+215.5%), MG (+188%), Nevo (+68.4%), NIO (+49.9%), Fang Cheng Bao (+47.6%), Denza (+31.1%) and Deepal (+18.6%) stand out below. Newcomer Shangjie breaks its volume record at 11,974. Among foreign carmakers, only Mazda (+52.9%) and Land Rover (+228.3%) are up.

Model-wise, the Tesla Model Y (-13.8%) delivers its 4th win in the past 13 months despite a sizeable YoY drop. The Geely Xingyuan (-18.4%) is down to #2 but easily remains #1 year-to-date. The new Leapmotor A10 spectacularly sells almost 25,000 units for its 4th month in market and lands on the third step of the podium. Also new, the Li i6 is up one rank on May to #4 while the Xiaomi SU7 (-12.1%) rounds out the Top 5. Another recent launch, the Fang Cheng Bao Tai 7 climbs up 4 spots to #6. BYD places the Sealion 05 (+10.7%) at #7, the Yuan Up (+16.9%) at #9 and the Song Pro (-12.3%) at #10. The Qiyuan/Nevo Q05 (+795.3%) lodges a second Top 10 finish in the past three months.Β

USA June/Q2 2026: Hybrids spur market up 7.9%, Nissan and Stellantis recover

13 July 2026 at 22:33

Nissan Rogue sales are up 38.6% over Q2.

New light vehicle sales in the U.S. are up 7.9% year-on-year in June to 1.4 million units according to GlobalData. The Seasonally adjusted annualised rate of sales (SAAR) is up from 15.95 million a year ago in June 2025 to 16.6 million, also ahead of May’s 16.21 million. Q2 volumes edge up 0.6% to 4,238,996. According to JD Power and GlobalData average incentives are up 13% year-on-year in June toΒ $3,217. Incentives on non-electric vehicles are up 19% to $2,970 while incentives on EVs are up just 3.1% to $9,824. Hybrids account for 16% of the US market in June, up from 13.7% in June 2025 with EV’s share at 7.4%.

Over the second quarter of the year, General Motors (-4.2%) remains the most successful OEM in the country ahead of Toyota Motor (+1.1%). However this is GM’s third consecutive quarterly decline. Ford Motor (-10.4%) takes a big hit, but the next six manufacturers all beat the market. Notably, Nissan Group (+9.2%) and Stellantis (+5.7%) recover, with the VW Group also up significantly at +9.8%. American Honda (+8.4%) impresses while Hyundai-Kia (+3.5%) is also up.

Toyota (+2.6%) is once again the most popular marque and extends its gap over #2 Ford (-10.1%) to above 65,000 units over Q2. Chevrolet (-3.8%) is also in difficulty in third place. Nissan shoots up 10.2% in Q1 and announced it has posted 16 consecutive months of year-over year retail U.S. sales increases. Honda (+9.4%) also delivers a very solid gain, with Subaru (+6.8%), Hyundai (+4%) and Kia (+2.8%) in shape. Further down, Chrysler (+80%), Volkswagen (+24.9%) and BMW (+13%) stand out.

Model-wise, the Ford F-Series (-11%) hits a wall, as a fire at a key supplier handicapped production. The Chevrolet Silverado (-7.3%) also struggles at #2 but the Honda CR-V (+16%) confirms it is the new SUV champion in the US. Indeed the Toyota RAV4 (-24.2%) continues on its difficult generation changeover and is down to #7 for the quarter. The Ram Pickup (+14.3%) is in great shape as is the Toyota Camry (+18.5%) while the GMC Sierra (+5%) is softer. The Tesla Model Y (+2.7%) falls to #8 ahead of the Honda Civic (+8.1%) and Toyota Tacoma (+5%). Excellent performances below by the Nissan Rogue (+38.6%), Ford Explorer (+13.8%) and Honda Accord (+41.2%).

Previous month: USA May 2026: Mazda (+35%), Honda (+10.5%), Subaru (+10.4%) impress, sedans up

One year ago: USA June/Q2 2025: Ford (+13.6%) overtakes Toyota (+7.1%) as #1 brand in weakening market

South Korea June 2026: BYD smashes records

10 July 2026 at 09:27

The BYD Dolphin is the 2nd best-selling foreign model in South Korea in June.

The South Korean new light vehicle market is up by a robust 9.5% year-on-year in June to 159,348 units. This is divided into 121,289 units (+3%) for local carmakers and 38,059 (+37%) for foreigners. The H1 2026 tally is up 2.5% to 845,356, including 661,343 domestic brands (-3.7%) and 184,013 foreigners (+33.2%). Kia (+18.7%) has now been the #1 brand at home for 6 straight months, having established its dominance over sister brand Hyundai (-2.5%) in difficulty again. Kia is almost 27,000 units ahead of Hyundai YTD, which should ensure a Full Year victory. In third place for the 5th straight month, Tesla continues to shine with sales up 74.4% to 7% share and above the 10,000 unit-mark for the 4th month in a row. BYD (+2014.5%) smashes its records to #7 with 4,652 sales and 2.9% share (Previous best was reached last April at #9 with 2,023 sales and 1.3% share).

In the local models ranking, the Hyundai Grandeur (+80.4%) soars to pole position for the first time this year, dislodging the Kia Sorento (+8.1%) which remains the faraway YTD leader. The Kia Seltos (+31.1%) is up seven spots on May to #3, the nameplate’s first podium finish after 84 months in market. Its previous best was #4 hit in September 2019 and October 2024. The Carnival (-6.7%) and Sportage (-2.9%) ensure there are four Kia models in the Top 5. The Kia EV5 is the most popular recent launch and repeats at a record #13. The Tesla Model Y (+49.1%) once again obliterates the foreign models charts with over 9,000 sales. The event of the month is the arrival at #2 of the BYD Dolphin (+35 spots on last month), with the BMW 5 Series (+0.5%), Mercedes E Class (-18.5%) and GLC (-20.8%) rounding out the Top 5. BYD also places the Sealion 7 at #6 and the Atto 3 at #14.

Previous month: South Korea May 2026: Tesla Model Y first foreign model to top charts outright

Turkiye June 2026: Renault Boreal lands at #7

10 July 2026 at 08:25

The Renault Boreal is an instant blockbuster in Turkiye.

The Turkish new light vehicle market recedes -11.4% year-on-year in June to 105,041 units, leading to a H1 2026 tally down -8.2% on a record H1 2025 total to 558,179. Once again Renault (+55.7%) goes completely agains the market with a stellar YoY uptick. It is followed by Fiat (-2.4%) improving its share to 9.3% and Volkswagen (-26.7%) in trouble. Peugeot (-10.8%) and Citroen (-12.4%) evolve roughly around the market evolution but Toyota (-19.8%) falls faster at #6. Local EV maker Togg (+45.4%) surges ahead to repeat at #9 with Hyundai (+15.2%) the only additional gainer in the Top 10. Contrary to most of worldwide markets, Tesla is off -94.5% to #30 this month.

The Renault Clio (+22.4%) remains the most popular vehicle in the country but is threatened by the Fiat Egea Sedan (+34.9%) ending the month just 65 units below. The Renault Megane Sedan (+7.9%) is down one spot on May to #3 but stays at #2 year-to-date. The Togg T10X (-5.3%) is up to #4 but falls year-on-year while the Toyota Corolla (+40.2%) rounds out the Top 5 ahead of the Renault Duster (+180.1%). The event of the month is the arrival directly at #7 by the new locally produced Renault Boreal, based on the Dacia Bigster and exclusively sold outside Europe. Notice also the KG Mobility Torres (+143.4%) breaking into the Top 10 for what is believed to be the first time at #8.Β

Japan June 2026: Market up 8.6%, Toyota Land Cruiser breaks ranking record

8 July 2026 at 09:23

The Toyota Land Cruiser (incl. the 70 Series) ranks #6 in the regular car ranking.

The Japanese new vehicle market is up by a solid 8.6% year-on-year in June to 426,993 units. Toyota (+18.6%) continues to outpaces its home market to a splendid 33.2% share. Suzuki (+2.3%) follows but sells less than half at 14.9% share. Mazda (+18.3%) and Honda (+17.5%) also shine below, while Nissan (+6.5%) and Mitsubishi (+4.2%) are shy and Subaru (-11.6%), Daihatsu (-9.5%), Lexus (-5%) and Isuzu (-1.7%) struggle. Further down, Hino (+24.8%), Porsche (+20.5%) and Mitsubishi Fuso (+17.2%) stand out. BYD (+4.7%) is up one spot to #23 but only grabs 0.1% of the market.

In the regular cars ranking, the Toyota Yaris/Cross (+5.6%) remains at #1 but the real leader when separating Yaris and Yaris Cross is the Toyota Raize (+8.8%). The Toyota Sienta surges 39.9% to #3, overtaking the Toyota Corolla/Cross (+3.4%). The Toyota Roomy (+8.7%) repeats at #5 while the Toyota Land Cruiser (+118.1%) more than doubles its sales YoY and gains 12 spots on May to break its ranking record at #6, its previous best (#7) hit last April. The Alphard (+23.5%) makes sure the Top 7 is entirely composed of Toyotas. The Honda Freed (+3.7%) is the best of the rest once again but retreats two ranks to #8. Notice also the Toyota RAV4 (+180%), Mazda CX-5 (+127.6%), Nissan Kicks (+192.1%) and Leaf (+297.9%). The Toyota bZ4X is down one spot to #25 while the new Honda Super-ONE is down 12 to #43 for its second month in market.Β

Looking at kei cars, the Honda N-BOX (+20.9%) and Suzuki Spacia (+18.9%) cement their leadership and become the two best-selling vehicles in the country when adding regular cars. The Daihatsu Tanto (-6.6%) and Move (-24.4%) pay the price of artificially high year-ago volumes when supply caught up after production stoppages in 2024. The Nissan Roox (+42.4%) delivers the biggest gain in Β the Top 10, with the Honda N-ONE (+118.5%), Nissan Sakura (+68.2%) and Suzuki Every Wagon (+59.1%) doing even better below.

As for foreign models, the Mini lineup (-11.3%) easily stays on top while the VW Golf (-10.8%) is up one spot on Q1 to #2, overtaking the VW T-Cross (+5.8%). The Mercedes G-Class (+14.2%) manages the extraordinary feat of being the brand’s best-seller in Japan and ranks #4 overall. Another big surprise: the 5th place of the Porsche 911 which is a new record. Notice also the Mercedes GLB up 5.4%, the VW Polo up to #14 and the Audi Q3 (+15.9%) at #15.

Including LCV the June tally stands at 17,686 with H1 volumes up 11.3% to 86,697. Petrol sales account for 20.6% of total PC volumes over H1 vs. 23.9% last year, diesel is at 9.5% vs. 11.3%, mild hybrids are at 35.6% vs. 35.7%, full hybrids at 15.8% vs. 14.8%, PHEVs at 8% vs. 5.5% and BEVs at 10% vs. 8.5% over the First Half of 2025. Private sales represent 36% of the H1 volume vs. 64% for fleet sales, but looking at BEV sales only the fleet share rises to 76% vs. 80% over the Full Year 2025.

Skoda (+74.1%) threepeats at #1 in the PC brands ranking with 11.3% share vs. 9.9% over H1, keeping YTD leader Toyota (+25%) in 2nd place. Suzuki (+26.8%) is up 26.8% to #3. Nissan shoots up 468.6% to #4 and 7.1% share and ranks #3 year-to-date at +89.6% to 9.1% share. However this is almost entirely due to reexports which account for a whopping 81.4% of its sales over the First Half of 2025. The average reexport ratio is 18.7% vs. 21.8% last year. BYD (+227.2%), Hyundai (+45.8%) and MG (+41%) also shine below. Over in the PC+LCV brands ranking and over H1, Toyota (+16.1%) leads the way with 11.5% share above Ford (-16.6%) and Skoda (+25.9%). Nissan is up 86.1% to #4.

Looking at models (PC+LCV), the Skoda Octavia (+78%) is in the lead above the Nissan Qashqai (+713.7%), the latter owing its score to roughly 80% reexports. The Suzuki S-Cross (+68.7%) and Vitara (+33.5%) follow with the Toyota Corolla (+45.1%), Hyundai Tucson (+194%) and Kia Sportage (+69.7%) in tow. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+54%), Skoda Kodiaq (+41.9%) and Toyota C-HR (+21.8%) also make it into the Top 10. Switzerland June 2026: Tesla Model Y delivers best result in over 2 years

6 July 2026 at 10:39

The Tesla Model Y is by far the best-selling vehicle in Switzerland in June.

25,207 new cars hit Swiss roads in June, a very impressive 15.6% year-on-year uptick. The H1 volume is now up 3% to 116,548. 4Γ—4 sales surge 28.3% to 13,667 and 54.2% share vs. 48.8% in June 2025 while YTD they are up 7% to 60,862 and 52.2% share vs. 50.3% over the same period in 2025. BEV registrations soar 38.2% to 6,652 and 26.4% share vs. 22.1% a year ago while PHEVs are up 42.2% to 3,432 and 13.6% vs. 11.1% in June 2025. So far this year, BEVs are up 20.2% to 27,889 and 23.9% share vs. 20.5% last year just as PHEVs gain 24.7% to 14,456 and 12.4% share vs. 10.2%.

Volkswagen (+19.9%) and Mercedes (+15.6%) both post fantastic scores atop the brands ranking, reaching 11.5% and 9.1% share respectively. Skoda (-0.4%) is stable in third place but BMW (-17.2%) freefalls at #4. Tesla (+78.6%) delivers the biggest gain in the Top 10 and gains 11 spots on May to land at #5 with 1,588 sales and 6.3% share, its best result since March 2024 (#4 with 1,934 sales and 8.2% share). Volvo (+41.6%) and Toyota (+19.4%) also shine but the best performer below is BYD (+1826.8%), stepping out of the Top 10 at #11 but breaking its volume (790) and share (3.1%) records.

Model-wise, the Tesla Model Y (+101.6%) more than doubles its sales year-on-year to post an ultra-dominant run at 5.6% share, its highest score since, here too, March 2024 (6.4%). Leader in May, the Mercedes GLC (+22.4%) is knocked down to #2 but lies at #5 YTD. The VW Golf (+46.2%) surges ahead at #3 and holds onto the YTD top spot at 2.2% share. The VW Tiguan (+8.3%) and Skoda Kodiaq (+32.5%) follow, with the Volvo EX30 (+164.8%) posting a phenomenal result at #9. The BYD Seal 6 (#51) is the best-selling recent launch ahead of the Leapmotor B10 (#76).

Ukraine June 2026: Top 10 is 100% SUV, Renault Duster cements lead

6 July 2026 at 09:25

The Renault Duster is the most popular vehicle in Ukraine in June.

The Ukrainian new light vehicle market is down -8.1% year-on-year in June to 6,102 units, leading to a H1 volume off -4.8% to 31,304. Toyota (-20.1%) easily retains the brands top spot with 12.4% share and despite a harsh year-on-year fall. This is to be compared with a 14.6% share year-to-date. Renault (+4.3%) defies the negative market to stay in 2nd place above Volkswagen (-10.2%) and Skoda (+7.4%). Hyundai (+0.3%), stable, rounds out the Top 5. Mercedes (+38.8%), Nissan (+13.1%) and BMW (+10.7%) also make themselves noticed in the remainder of the Top 10. BYD is down -31.4% to #7.

Over in the models ranking, here too we have a familiar face on top: the Renault Duster (-24.5%), also despite a steep YoY fall. The Hyundai Tucson (-2.4%) repeats at #2 ahead of the Toyota Prado (-5%). Excellent performances below by the VW Tiguan (+84.8%), Touareg (+56%) and Skoda Kodiaq (+37.1%). The Nissan Qashqai (+36.8%) also shines while the new BYD Sealion 6 is #10 again, making it the most popular recent launch in the country. The Top 10 is entirely composed of SUVs, with the Mazda CX-5 (-26.2%) and Toyota RAV4 (-57.7%) completing the list.Β

Previous month: Ukraine May 2026: Renault Duster now #1 year-to-date

Previous year: Ukraine Full Year 2025: Toyota and Renault Duster #1, BYD at 26.3% share in December
