The Skoda Scala is the 2nd best-selling vehicle in Bosnia & Herzegovina in March.
According to our local partner CE Auto, the Bosnian new car market soars 24.8% year-on-year in March to 1,058 sales, meaning the YTD tally is now up 7.7% to 2,633. The Skoda Octavia (+7.2%) remains by far the most popular vehicle in the country with 7% share. It distances the Skoda Scala (+410%) completely euphoric, signing its first Top 10 finish since last August (#5) and its best ranking since August 2024 (#2 also). The Hyundai Tucson (-8%) is down one spot on last month to #3 ahead of the Toyota Corolla (+79.2%) and Yaris Cross (+77.3%) both beating the market.

Second ever podium finish for the Jetour X50.
Data by our Central European partner CE Auto show a Moldovan new car market surging 65.8% year-on-year to 1,169 units, leading to a Q1 result up 32.9% to 2,593. The Toyota RAV4 (+163.6%) reclaims the top spot it holds year-to-date but with a relatively weak 5% share vs. 5.8% over Q1. The Toyota Corolla Cross (+157.1%) climbs up two spots to #2, a ranking it also holds year-to-date vs. #7 over the Full Year 2025. The Jetour X50 soars to third place, but this is not enough to crack the YTD Top 10. This is the nameplateβs second incursion inside the Moldovan podium after last November (#3 also). Notice also the BAIC X7 at #4, the Geely Starship at #7 and the BYD Sealion 05 at #9.

This post has been updated with more photos.
For this last update we select the three most impressive brands at the Beijing Auto Show 2026. This time a foreign brand makes it to the cut!

Maextro
The brand was already in our most impressive section last year but it has taken it to the next level in 2026. Reduced to a tiny section with only one closed car on display in 2025, this time Maextro has a full blown stand on its own with five vehicles exhibited as well as a section of the HIMA stand with 3 models. I was able to enter the car to explore the interior.

And what an interior! Obviously the dashboard is a giant side-to-side digital tile with three screens. The space at the back (most owners will be driven around) is gigantic with a full on rug at your feet.Β

Still at the back, instead of a ceiling-mounted screen there is electric motion screen that, when pulled down, covers the entire width of the car. The projector for the screen is located in between the back seats (see picture above).

In between the back seats we also have a large refrigeratorβ¦

β¦ as well as large, removable iPhone-like controls for seat functions located on the door.
The S800 is priced from 708,000 to 1,018,000 yuan (85,500-127,300β¬ or US$103,700-149,100) which is a bargain given the specs of the car. Launched in August, the S800 crossed the 10,000 sales mark by December and is now at 16,809 total units at end of March. It peaked at 4,223 sales in December. This makes it the best-selling luxury sedan in China.

BYD Great Tang
BYD
Chinaβs market leader (in 2025 at least) is back with a vengeance with a flurry of new models at the Show. The main event was the launch of pre sales for the Great Tang, available in BEV and PHEV variants. The Great Tang is a full size seven-seater SUV full-size crossover and at 5.3m long it is the brandβs largest crossover. It offers up to 950 km of EV range while the 4WD version speeds from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The Great Tang has reportedly recorded no less than 60,000 pre orders within 48h of its launch. Note the Great Tangβs passenger screen appears black to the driver even when on, to avoid distractions.

BYD Seal 08
Also new at the Show were the Seal 08 sedanβ¦
BYD Sealion 08
Sealion 08 SUV (as a near production ready concept)β¦
BYD Yuan Plus / Atto 3
β¦and the third generation Atto 3 (Yuan Plus in China) available with the brandβs flash charging technology allowing charging the battery from 10% to 97% in just nine minutes.
Volkswagen
Volkswagen was by far the most impressive foreign carmaker at the Show and seems to have finally woken up after losing its market pole position to BYD and then the second place to Geely, plus being outsold by Toyota in March. The German manufacturer had more than a few new EV models at the Show.

The ID. Aura T6 stands for Advanced, User-centric, Reliable, and All-access. The letter T means Travel, and the digit 6 refers to the βgolden balance point.β Itβs a 6-seater family oriented urban crossover, and looks like a sedan from the front. It has Xpeng tech on board.

The ID. Era 9X was also unveiled, coming from the SAIC-VW joint venture. It is an EREV (extended range EV) with six seats and will act as the flagship NEV model for the brand. It has the mandatory digital tile extending to the passenger side.

The ID. Unyx 07 was co-developed with Xpeng. Itβs a mid-size electric fastback sedan offering a 231 hp electric motor and a 59.9 kWh battery, for a range of 558 km.

The ID. Unyx 08 is Volkswagenβs first mass produced vehicle developed in collaboration with Xpeng. It breaks with the brandβs previous design codes with a distinctive fascia. At 5m long, this is a large SUV but only comes as a five-seater.Β
Thatβs all for this yearβs coverage of the Beijing Auto Show! Iβll see you again next year in Shanghai.
The Fest E-Box M is inside the North Macedonian Top 10 in March.
Our local partner CE Auto has the North Macedonian new car market up 8.2% year-on-year in March to 582 sales. Keep in mind though that March 2025 was off -27.4% on the year prior. The Q1 volume is down -2.9% to 1,521. The Toyota Corolla (+562.5%) surges ahead to repeat at #1 with a fantastic 9.1% share. It is followed by the Skoda Scala up from outside the February Top 10 directly to #2 and the Skoda Octavia staying at #3. The Skoda Kamiq (+15%) ranks #4 again but is down to #5 YTD vs. #1 over the Full Year 2025. The Toyota Yaris makes a rare Top 10 appearance at #6 while we have two newcomers in this same Top 10, both equal #9: The Chinese LCV Fest E-Box M and the Fiat Grande Panda.

This post has been updated with more brands and pictures.
After detailing the notable foreign brands at the Show, it is now time to go through the notable domestic brands, still in alphabetical order. We will cover the three most impressive Chinese brands in a separate post. Here we go through 26 domestic brands, from 212 to Zeekr.
New 212 concept car, named the Expedition Platform X
Still plenty of physical controls in the 212 T01.
212 T01 pickup
212
BAW launched the 212 brand in June 2024, selling an updated version of the legendaryΒ 60 year-old BJ212 off roader, named T01. Sales are still modest, at under 5,000 units over Q1 2026, but up 28.9% year-on-year. The brand is now set to expand beyond its original model and unveiled a very attractive concept car at the Show, named Expedition Platform β X (literal Chinese to English translation). Not much info on this car or when it will hit the market but itβs always good to see new Chinese brands progressively growing into a full range. The concept looks like a Defender from the back though. 212 also showcased a pickup variant of the T01.

Aion
GACβs star brand has one launch this year: the N60 compact electric SUV, and it is banking a lot on it with no less than 9 examples of the Aion stand. Design by ex-BMW Benoit Jacob. Indeed itβs good looks for the model, which is a welcome change from previous iterations. Note the range is up to 610 km and price around 150,000 yuan (18,800β¬ or US$22,000).

Aistaland
Aistaland is a new brand with its own large dedicated stand, yet another collaboration between Huawei and a car manufacturer, this time GAC. The name derives from the expression βAI Start New Land.β Its Chinese name is Qijing. Its first vehicle is the GT7 shooting brake, a clone of the Porsche Panamera. As is the case with all its other collaborations, Huawei provides the intelligent vehicle platform while GAC is in charge of the manufacturing integration. The GT7 features a 896-line LiDAR from Huawei.
AITO M6 detail
AITO M9 detail
AITO M9 interior
AITO
AITO had a huge standalone stand and introduced the new M6, which launched in market last month (1,116 sales). The headlights have a mist-like pattern (see above) giving off a very refined effect. The M9 (also interesting headlights design, see above) was updated and is now longer (5.28m), wider and taller. Itβs an essential model for the brand, having totalled 280,000 units since launch in 2023. The M9 features a full electronic motion screen that rolls down from the ceiling and covers the entire width of the car.

AvatR
AvatR introduced the 06T, the carmakerβs first station wagon. As a reminder AvatR is a premium NEV brand and the result of the cooperation between Changan, Huawei and CATL. The cockpit is unchanged on the 06 we featured last year.

Baojun
Once one of the most successful brands the country, the Baojun brand has spectacularly fallen from grace with just 4,285 sales over Q1 2026, down to #68. SGMW (Saic-GM-Wuling) is trying to reverse the trend by associating with Huawei for the Baojun Huajing series. At the time of launch in September 2025, this was the 6th collaboration between Huawei and a manufacturer after Seres (Aito), Chery (Luxeed), BAIC (Stelato), JAC (Maextro) and SAIC (SAIC). The first model of the alliance is the Huajing S, a six-seater SUV among the first to embark Huaweiβs Limera in-cabin laser vision solution.
Beijing 81 interior
Beijing BJ40 interior
Beijing City Hunter concept
Beijing Off-road
Quite an impressive display for the Off-road brand of Beijing, playing at home. The Mercedes G-Class inspired 81 is back with a visually pleasing dashboard. The BJ40 shows itself in an EREV variant and sports a cockpit surprisingly full of screens for what is at heart a rugged brand. Finally a rather bland but imposing concept was present: the oddly named City Hunter.

Deepal
The recently launched S09 SUV and L06 sedan impressed with their exterior design. The G318 off road is also a favourite of mine.

Denza
The sleek N8L was my favourite of the brand, which also revealed the Z roadster. The N8L also had a demo outside showing off its rotating back wheels.

Dreame
One of a handful of brands present at the Show that were new to me, Dreame was known until now for its smart home appliances and personal care devices. They launched the Nebula Next 01X hypercar with insane specs. The car has a rocket booster system that enables it to reach 100 km/h in just 0.9 secβ¦

Epicland
Epicland is a completely new brand (that I hadnβt heard of before), the fruit of a collaboration between Dongfeng and Huawei. It appeared twice in the Show: within the Dongfeng stand but also as a standalone stand in a different hall. The Chinese name is Yijing. The brandβs first model is the X9, a full size 5.3m six-seater SUV, logically equipped with the latest Huawei tech, including an 896-line LiDAR sensor.

Fang Cheng Bao
And here I was thinking Fang Cheng Bao was an off road brand. Not so, as the carmaker launched four new cars in Beijing: the S and SL sedans, S GT station wagon and Formula X supercar. This blurs the lines with BYDβs other brands but the Chinese have never shied away from confusing brand positioning. The bright green X was the centre of attention, scheduled for mass production and market launch in 2027.

Hongqi
Chinaβs favourite luxury brand continues to expand, now adventuring into the rugged 4WD SUV terrain. At the show it launched the aptly named βOff roadβ, yes thatβs the name of it. It was teased as a concept at last yearβs Shanghai Auto Show. Now itβs here and ready to roll, always featuring the trademark red line in various spots on the car. Another more underwhelming launch by Hongqi was the βGlobal SUVβ, so bland it doesnβt deserve a picture here.

IM
MG brand IM wowed with sophisticated designs and stunning interiors full of screens.
I love Jetourβs gearbox design
Jetour Zhongheng G700 interior views
Jetour
Lots of activity on the Jetour booth this year, with the new T8 three-row hybrid SUV introduced, another boxy SUV trying to replicate the Land Rover Defender silhouette. Another novelty was the Shanhai L10 PHEV, with an odd exterior design. But to me the most impressive model in the Jetour lineup exhibited was the (not new) Zhongheng G700 with high quality and refined cockpit.
Leapmotor A10
Leapmotor D19 interior

Leapmotor
Leapmotor displayed a series of new models at the Show: the A10 hatchback, focused on global markets, the Lafa 5 Ultra (aka B05) sports hatch, the D19 large SUV and the D99 MPV. The A10 will be called B03X internationally which is a focus for this model β it was unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show last year but was new to me. In China it starts below 10,000β¬β¦ Range is up to 505 km and 30% to 80% charge is reached in just 16 minutes. The D19 5.25m SUV is the brandβs new flagship. Its claim to fame is the largest EREV battery in the world at 80.3 kWh, enabling a 500km run with the ICE turned off. The D99 MPV was unveiled last December for the 10th anniversary of the brand.
Li Auto i6 interior
Li Auto
The new model on the stand is the 2nd generation L9, called L9 Livis but very similar to the old model. For me the attraction was the incredibly successful i6 SUV (#4 overall in March). So why is it that successful? My opinion is, the inside tech: The carβs centre console is made of two 15.7-inch screens extending to the passenger side, as well as a ceiling-mounted screen for back seat passengers.

Luxeed
The V9 by Luxeed is the HIMA allianceβs first MPV. It is imposing at 5.35m long, and is somehow aligned with the allianceβs common design. It sports creature comforts such as a constant temperature refrigerator that keeps cooling for 12 hours after power disconnection.

NIO
NIO saw its sales boosted by the success of the new generation ES8, peaking at 22,258 sales in December alone. The brand introduced the larger ES9, which holds most of the same components as the ET9 fastback. The ES9 is Chinaβs largest electric SUV, coming at 5.37 m long, and the carmakerβs new flagship model. NIO also had a demo of its battery swap system (done in a little more than 2 minutes) in front of eager pupils.

SAIC
SAIC, or Shangjie in Chinese, is a recently launched brand, the fruit of the cooperation between SAIC Group and Huawei and will be sold within Huaweiβs HIMA network. After its first model, the H5 SUV, launched in September last year, the S7 sedan and its shooting brake version the S7T are clones of the Porsche Taycan and Taycan Cross Turismo respectively.

Stelato
No new launches here, just a beautiful stand with classical music being played live. The S9T station wagon, the brandβs best-seller, featured prominently.

WEY
GWMβs WEY presented the new V9X large SUV, first available in PHEV variant, with BEV and HEV versions coming later this year.

Wuling
A twin of the Baojun Huajing S, the Wuling Starlight L is also a 6-seater large SUV. No info has filtered about this model.

Xiaomi
As is the case every year, Xiaomi was the most popular stand in the Show and became suffocatingly crowded as soon as the gates opened at 10am on the first public day. A hedgerow of staff welcomed the dayβs first visitors clapping their hands. It was the first time I got myself into the uber-successful YU7 SUV, overall #1 in sales in January. The cockpit is not as minimalistic as I would have anticipated, with numerous physical controls below the centre digital screen. Thereβs a HUD covering the entire width of the car but no digital instrument cluster for the driver nor the now ubiquitous passenger screen.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra interior
Also weird round additions to the big screen were a compass and a clock. Note the door handles are not flush anymore to comply with new government mandates. Xiaomi is about to embark on a new launch frenzy, on top of the updated SU7 just launched: a YU7 GT (300km/h max speed), an entry level SU5 BEV and three EREVs: the YU5 mid-size five seater, the EREV version of the YU7 and the YU9 large seven-seater. This should do wonders for the brandβs volumes as we eagerly await the launch of all these new models.

Xpeng
The brand presented the new GX 5.26m large six-seater SUV, available in BEV and EREV variants. One of the GXβs main features is Boschβs next generation steer-by-wire system, including both front- and rear-steer-by-wire capability which improves handling and manoeuvrability. The cockpit is extravagantly filled with screens. A very good surprise in the Xpeng stand is the facelifted P7, more aggressive than ever.

Zeekr 9X interior

Zeekr
Zeekrβs stand was very popular, being alongside Xiaomi and NIO one of the cool domestic brands on sale. The carmaker unveiled the 8X large SUV, sharing architecture and components with the 9X even larger SUV. It was the opportunity to explore the interior of both models, in each case very refined and equipped with large digital tiles. However it is to be noted that the 9Xβs interior already appears a little dated with only one large screen vs. an entire tile going to the front passenger for the 8X, which secured 10,000 orders within 30 minutes of its launch.

As is the case every year, BSCB had the opportunity to attend the China Auto Show in 2026, this time in Beijing. Firstly the Show is now a dual-venue format, held at the old China Exhibition Center (Shunyi Hall) and the adjacent all new Capital International Exhibition Center of China (CIECC). Combined, the two venues feature no less than 17 indoor exhibition halls across a record-breaking 380,000 square meters, or over 50 football fields. I walked 21 km across two days to cover all brands showcased inside the two buildings.
The new Capital International Exhibition Center of China
As per 2024 and 2025, we will cover the Show in three different articles: notable foreigners, notable domestic brands and the 3 most impressive brands overall. We will go through almost 200 pictures and just under 40 brands.Β Letβs start with studying the notable foreign brands present at the Show, in alphabetical order.

AudiΒ
Last year Audi made a splash by launching a new China-only brand in cooperation with SAIC: AUDIi in capital letters instead of the four rings. Hopes were high this would revive the German manufacturer, and the E5 sportback was presented. However the E5 EV only accumulated a little more than 10,000 units since its launch in August, peaking at 2,630 sales last month. Only a drop in the ocean of the very competitive Chinese EV market, and as a result Audi sales are down again over Q1 2026. One year on, and with added pressure to succeed, the carmaker presented the E7X electric SUV, featuring the same end-to-end digital dashboard and digital rear view mirrors, and the same LED light both at the front and back as the E5. One more EV is scheduled to start in 2027, a pace of new launches far from what the Chinese are doing.

BMWΒ
BMW came to the Show all guns blazing with a gigantic stand across two sections of its hall (see picture above). Its main new model is the iX3 SUV, which in my view is one of the most beautiful car designs currently on sale.

Ford
I was very impressed by the large digital tile on the Ford Mondeo Sportβs dashboard. Foreign carmakers are really trying their best to remain competitive. In the case of Ford, it is also badly needed as sales are down -30.9% year-on-year over Q1 2026.

Hyundai
At the Show, Hyundai officially (and belatedly) launched the Ioniq NEV brand in China. It did so with the Ioniq V, a strikingly angular vehicle, as per the brandβs usage of exploring new design frontiers. The dashboard features the now mandatory digital tile expanding to the passenger side.

Jetta
Volkswagenβs attempt at a China-only low cost brand, Jetta, launched in 2019. It has had disappointing results ever since and vegetates at #41 in the brands charts in March with just over 9,000 sales. The issue is it didnβt offer any NEV models. This is all about to change, with the Beijing Auto Show the stage for the brandβs complete relaunch, including a new logo. The only visible vehicle on the stand though is a concept: the Jetta X, a rugged all-electric SUV. The brand says it will launch four new NEV models by 2028, and one sedan was displayed in camouflage.

Lexus
Lexusβs only βnewsβ in China in 2026 is the ES sedan which was unveiled last year at the Shanghai Auto Show. The ES interior is now visible and features a large digital tile extending to the passenger as is now the βnormβ in China. The ES is still scheduled to be produced in the brandβs new Shanghai plant in 2027 and will be the first Lexus built in China.

NissanΒ
Nissan has rightfully embarked on a series of China-only model EV launches. Last year it showcased the N7 sedan. After a fantastic start (10,148 sales last August), the N7 has fallen to just 587 units in February and 1,382 in March. Nissan has also added the N6 which peaked at 6,822 sales in December but dropped to 2,665 last month. Wildly varying scores make it difficult to call them a success or failure so far. Now the brand is launching the NX8 SUV, proposed in EV and EREV versions, and which reportedly secured 8,423 orders within the first 30 minutes of sales. Very encouraging but letβs see whether the model can sustain strong sales after launch unlike the N6 and N7.

Nissan also showcased the Terrano PHEV concept, prefiguring the return of the legendary nameplate as a capable off-road SUV.

Peugeot
A total surprise for me at the Show is the presence of Peugeot (and Citroen). The French manufacturer, in doldrums sales-wise (975 units in March), presented two new concepts: the Concept 6 shooting brake sedan and Concept 8 SUV. The stand also had the Polygon Concept (an advance look at the future 208) and the Citroen Elo concept. The two new Peugeot concepts prefigure a βnew β line-up of large sedans and SUVs, produced in China for China, as well as for export from China to βPeugeotβs overseas βmarkets.Β The first of these new Chinese-built models is expected to launch in 2027. The stand also featured Peugeotβs new visual identity: three horizontal stripes forming the shape of the head- and backlights.

SmartΒ
Smart, now a Mercedes-Benz/Geely joint venture, has unveiled the #6, its first sedan, which will be confined to China. It is the brandβs largest vehicle to date, and is badly needed as sales figures are dismal (1,717 sales in March). The task will be difficult, and the carmaker has completely changed the way it does interiors with the #6 featuring end-to-end digital tile as is now the norm in vehicles aimed at the Chinese customer.
Toyota Wildlander

Wildlander details
Toyota
Toyota outsold (just) Volkswagen in March and has managed to contain its YoY loss over Q1 to -5%, a strong result given the environment foreign brands find themselves in in 2026. The Show was the opportunity for me to discover the new generation RAV4 (and its twin the Wildlander) in the flesh. Note itβs the Wildlander that uses the international look whereas the RAV4 proposes a more squared front. Toyota always opts for conservatism and tried and tested features over extravagant advances. True to form, the RAV4/Wildlanderβs interior is solid but its screens are rather small in the current context.
Toyota bZ7
Toyota also presented the bZ7 flagship sedan which secured over 3,100 orders one hour after launch, but was rather shy with it as it only showed one example on its stand. Of note is that Toyota was the busiest foreign brandβs stand during the public days.
I spent the day exploring the Beijing Auto Show with industry superstar Felipe MuΓ±oz
Volkswagen
Volkswagen was moved to the most impressive brands post.
This is all for our coverage of the notable foreign carmakers at the Beijing Auto Show 2026. Next we will talk about the domestic manufacturers.
The BMW X1 ranks #10 in Poland in March.
The Polish new passenger car market is euphoric in March at +20.4% year-to-date to 63,900 units. The Q1 volume is up 6.7% to 151,650 as a result. Toyota (+10.6%) disappoints somewhat at 12.8% share vs. 15.5% year-to-date. In a Top 5 unchanged on last month it is followed by Skoda (+26.6%), Volkswagen (+5.2%), BMW (+34%) and Audi (+4.5%). This way, BMW overtakes Audi in the YTD order to reach #4, a ranking it also held over the Full Year 2025. Volvo (+34%) also shines at #9 with 4.3% share. Below, BYD (+316.7%), Omoda (+191.5%), Mazda (+153.4%), Peugeot (+50.4%) and MG (+47.5%) stand out.
Model-wise, the Toyota Corolla (+25.4%) snaps the top spot over the Skoda Octavia (+28.1%) for just five sales, ahead of the Nissan Qashqai (+1.8%) back to a traditionally strong month of March. The Volvo XC60 (+46.1%) repeats at a record 4th place, the third time it reaches that ranking alongside April 2025 and last month. distancing the Kia Sportage (+38.3%), Hyundai Tucson (+62.9%) and Toyota Yaris Cross (+26.8%) all in outstanding shape. The BMW X1 breaks into the Top 10 at #10.

The Tesla Model Y is the best-selling vehicle in Colombia in March.
Itβs another astonishing month for new vehicle sales in Colombia, up 53.5% year-on-year in March to 28,196 units. The Q1 volume is up 47.9% to 73,776. Brand leader Kia (+65.3%) manages to outpace the galloping market to 14.3% share and over 4,000 sales. It distances Renault (+8.6%) a lot more muted. The performance of the month goes to Tesla: up to #3 brand overall with 8.7% share for its first full month in market, a stunning initial success for the American brand. Mazda (+43.9%) is up one spot on February to #4, leapfrogging past Chevrolet (+17%) and Toyota (-8.5%). Volkswagen (+69.9%) also shines at #8.
History is made in the models charts: the Tesla Model Y storms into pole position with a stunning 1,793 sales and 6.4% share, all this in its very first appearance in the ranking! Itβs an extraordinary success for Teslaβs star model. At the same time, the Model 3 climbs to #6 with 2.4% of the market. The Kia K3 is up one spot on last month to #2, overtaking the Kia Picanto (+73.4%) at #3. The Mazda CX-30 (+35.5%) and Renault Duster Nacional (+18.2%) round out the Top 5. The Kia Stonic (+246.7%) and Sportage (+416%) surge ahead to close the Top 10.

The Nissan Juke is the best-selling vehicle in Greece in March.
New car sales in Greece grow by a robust 15.7% year-on-year in March to 14,710 units, lifting the year-to-date tally into positive territory after three months at +4.9% to 34,812. Toyota (+8.8%) remains by far the most popular carmaker in the country but trails the market to 12.9% share vs. 14% so far this year. Nissan (+38.3%) is the hero of the month, jumping up 21 spots on February to #2 overall with 8.5% share, almost double the 4.3% it holds YTD. Peugeot (-14.4%) repeats at #3 ahead of Opel (+21.2%) and Citroen (+26%) both in great shape. Dacia (+370.8%) rallies back up from dismal year-ago results.Β
Model-wise, the Nissan Juke (+80.4%) is a surprise leader, climbing from #50 in February to #1. This month, in some European markets Nissan is posting some unusually strong results which could be due to fleet orders or re-exports. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+40.1%) is up one spot to #2, followed by the Peugeot 2008 (+7.3%) and Renault Clio (+112.8%). #1 in January and February, the Citroen C3 (-13%) falls to #5 but holds onto the YTD top spot. The Dacia Sandero (+493.5%), Toyota C-HR (+72.4%) and Opel Corsa (+34.1%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10.

The VinFast Limo Green is the best-selling vehicle in Vietnam in March.
New vehicle sales in Vietnam surge 51% year-on-year in March to 70,859 units. This leads to a Q1 tally up 41.8% to 162,039. Local EV maker Vinfast almost triples its year-ago volume (+181.7%) to reach a record 39% share of its home market. Toyota (+51.6%) follows at a distance with 11.5% of the market ahead of Thaco-Kia (+19.4%) and Mitsubishi (+15.3%) both quiet. Hyundai (-15.3%) goes completely against the market and endures a disappointing YoY loss.
Model-wise, Vinfast spectacularly monopolises the Top 5 for the second month in a row. The new Limo Green reclaims the top spot it holds year-to-date, toppling the VF 3 (+27.8%) while the VF 5 (-4.1%) stays at #3. The VF 6 (+186.5%) and the new MPV 7 exchange rankings to #4 and #5 respectively. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+100.7%) is the best of the rest, up 7 spots on last month to #6. Vinfast places another two models inside the Top 10: the new Minio Green at #7 and the VF 7 (+188.7%) at #9. Notice also the new Mitsubishi Detonator rounding out the Top 10.

Ram pickup sales are up 24.8% over Q1.
The March new US light vehicle market brakes -14% year-on-year to just 1.39 million units, with retail volumes down -16% and fleets off -2.3% according to GlobalData. Fleets account for 18.4% of the total light vehicle volume, up from 16.6% in March 2025. The Q1 tally is down -6.2% to 3,684,000. The SAAR for March is at 16.2 million vs. 17.8 million in March 2025 and 15.7 million in February. Q1 sales slow to 15.5 million annualised vs. over 16 million in 2024 and 2025. Keep in mind March 2025 is a high comparison base as customers rushed to purchase vehicles in the wake of the implementation of US tariffs.
Severe weather, the end of federal EV tax credits, record retail prices and economic uncertainty all contributed to a weak result in the US over the quarter. EV sales stumble -27% to 216,399 over Q1 according to Kelley Blue Book, thatβs a 5.8% market share down from a peak of 10.6% over Q3 2025. The average incentive per vehicle is up $165 to $3,325 according to JD Power and GlobalData, while EV discounts average $11,258, down $940 year-on-year.Β
In the OEM charts, General Motors (-9.6%) suffers but stays on top ahead of a stable Toyota Motor (-0.1%). Ford Motor (-8.7%) also struggles just ahead of Hyundai-Kia (+2.6%) hitting record levels and American Honda (-4.2%). Stellantis (+4%) confirms its recovery with a third consecutive quarterly increase.
Brand-wise, Toyota (+0.3%) is stable and easily stays on top ahead of Ford (-9.1%) and Chevrolet (-7.9%) both in difficulty. Honda (-5.1%) and Nissan (-7.7%) donβt fare much better and round out the Top 5. Below, both Kia (+4.1%) and Hyundai (+0.9%) post Q1 records. Note Kia sales have increased for six consecutive quarters. Ram (+20.1%) is the best performing brand near the top. Subaru (-15%) endures an 8th straight month of decline in March. Similarly Mazda (-14.4%) is down for a fourth consecutive quarter and Volkswagen (-16.1%) also.
Looking at models, the Ford F-Series (-16%) is in difficulty but still a distant leader above the Chevrolet Silverado (-0.1%), stable which is a good performance in the current context. The Honda CR-V (-3.8%) advances to #3 and #1 SUV as its archenemy the Toyota RAV4 (-48.1%) plunges to #13 due to its generation changeover. The Ram Pickup (+24.8%) is back in shape thanks partly to the return of V8 models. The Toyota Camry (+11.3%) surprises with a year-on-year gain, as more affordable sedans may be back in fashion in a record price context. The Camry (and not the RAV4) is Toyotaβs best-seller over a quarter for the first time since late 2017.Β

Ford F-Series sales are up 9.4% over Q1.
Local consultancy Desrosiers Automotive has the Canadian new light vehicle market down a steep -8.2% year-on-year in March to 170,000 units. The SAAR is down to 1.85 million, the lowest since September 2025. The Q1 volume is down -4.4% to 406,000. Desrosiers considers this result as a solid one given the soaring gas prices and tariff-related economic headwinds. In the Q1 OEM charts, Ford Motor (+14.4%) brilliantly overtakes General Motors (-13.1%) while Hyundai-Kia (+0.8%) remains above Toyota Motor (-2.4%). Stellantis (+14.6%) stages a comeback with the Volkswagen Group (+7.7%) also strong.
In the Q1 brands charts, Ford (+14.1%) defies the negative market to sail away into the distance at almost 68,000 sales vs. under 43,000 for #2 Toyota (-1.1%). Chevrolet (-6.5%), Hyundai (+1.8%) and Honda (-8.7%) complete the Top 5. Volkswagen (+12.7%), Mitsubishi (+7.3%), Ram (+6.9%) and Jeep (+3.2%) also shine below. Hit hard are Tesla (-39.2%), Buick (-33.5%), Cadillac (-21.8%) and Mercedes (-20%).
Over in the models charts, the Ford F-Series (+9.4%) widens the gap with its followers to an outstanding Β 20,431 units while selling just over 34,000 units itself. The GMC Sierra (-15.2%) grabs the 2nd spot despite falling heavily year-on-year, while the Honda CR-V (-5%) climbs to #3 and #1 SUV. The Chevrolet Silverado (-11.9%) is in difficulty in 4th place whereas the Hyundai Tucson (+47.7%) surges to #5 ahead of the Nissan Kicks (+27.4%) and Ram Pickup (+16.6%). Other great performers below include the VW Tiguan (+135.8%) and Kia Sportage (+51.4%). Handicapped by a lousy generation changeover the Toyota RAV4 dives -62.7% to #13 vs. a traditional 2nd spot overall.
