Stellantis NV, the company that makes Jeep and Ram, is thinking about leaving its battery project with Samsung SDI in the US. The company wants to save money after reporting more than €22 billion ($26 billion) in losses. Slower sales of electric vehicles have made Stellantis rethink its plans for batteries and EVs.

Bloomberg reports that Stellantis is exploring ways to sell its stake in the Indiana battery project with Samsung. No final decision has been made, and leaving the project could be costly and time-consuming. Stellantis said it is still “in discussions with Samsung on the future” of the joint venture. If it exists, the company may sell its share to another party.

The Android Auto version 16.2.660604 shows a new option, Driving avatar, in the navigation settings. With this, you could pick your vehicle directly from your car’s screen. You can choose the style, like an SUV or a sports car, and even the color. It works just like the interface you see on your phone.

This change will also sync with your Google account. That means if you change your vehicle in the car, it will update on your phone too, and vice versa. So, you can pick up your car either way, in the car or on your phone.

Most people may not change their avatar very often, but it’s a fun way to personalize your Maps experience. You can pick a car that looks like yours or even a dream car you wish you had.

One UI 8.5-powered Good Lock introduces bold new upgrades for apps and modules. QuickStar is one of the biggest beneficiaries. Samsung teased a grid customization feature, which is missing in the Beta software.

In a recent development, a Samsung moderator confirmed that the Quick Panel grid customization feature isn’t ready and is expected to roll out after the One UI 8.5 Stable.

Button grid customization will let Galaxy users tweak the size and orientation within the quick settings. Even though the fourth Beta has arrived, those personalization features aren’t accessible on Galaxy S25 devices.

Samsung is aiming to turn its mobile processor business profitable. To this end, Exynos 2700 is seemingly a prime candidate to push the company’s ambitions, with the chip estimated to power nearly half of Galaxy S27 units.

According to Korean media, Samsung could push Exynos 2700 to production in the second half of the year. It will be fabricated using the Samsung Foundry’s second-generation 2nm (SF2P) process technology with GAA.

More importantly, analysts believe that Samsung could power nearly half of the Galaxy S27 units with the Exynos 2700 processor next year. It’s going to be just double of what Samsung has achieved in the S26 series.

It’s said that Exynos 2600 is used in around 25 percent of the Galaxy S26 series units. With Exynos share ramping in the Galaxy S27 series, we may see a wider adoption, with Ultra potentially getting the company’s in-house chip.

This year, Samsung is using 75 percent Snapdragon and 25 percent Exynos in the Galaxy S26 series. The Galaxy S26 Ultra will be shipped with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy globally, while the other two models will see a chip split.

Exynos 2600 turned out to be a huge leap after the Exynos 2500 failure. Thanks to the second-generation 2nm node, Exynos 2700 will perform even better than the Galaxy S26’s Exynos 2600 application processor.

The US, Canada, and China usually maintain Snapdragon exclusivity. With Exynos share going around 50 percent, it looks like S27 Ultra may be powered by the Exynos 2700 chipset in some parts of the world, such as South Korea.

Nothing is certain as the development of the new chip is in the initial stage. We may see changes and final adoption numbers can only be believed at the verge of 2027.

Pill size

The charging animation pill in One UI 8.5 is a little smaller than the One UI 8.0. Samsung has reduced the pill’s width, which actually improves the shape.

The revised size of the indicator matches other components in the One UI 8.5 software. It was a necessary change, which wasn’t widely reported yet improved by developers.

Color

Samsung is already in a tough situation with the Galaxy S26 series pricing. Soaring component costs are already hurting the price strategy. An extended burden from APs end would further pressurize Samsung’s position.

Meanwhile, Samsung can escape the price hike of AP or somehow lower the burden. Qualcomm already confirmed it’s in talks with Samsung Foundry, and the design of its next chipset has been finalized for production.

Qualcomm is said to have handed orders of a portion of Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chips to Samsung Foundry. The chip is already being produced by TSMC on 3nm, but Samsung would utilize its 2nm process.

Beyond that, Qualcomm might cooperate with Samsung to manufacture Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6’s Pro version using the latter’s Foundry and enhanced 2nm process. The chip could power the Galaxy S27 Ultra rather than “for Galaxy” version.

TSMC is known to have increased prices for its chip fabrication facilities. Samsung Foundry may play a crucial role in safeguarding the next-gen Galaxy flagships from going expensive.

We’ve uncovered some details of the standard Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus, which suggest that these two flagships will align well with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, literally. Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus will align with S26 Ultra.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra transitioned from a pointy to curved corners, leaving the marquee Galaxy Note design behind. With this change, the difference between the S25 Ultra and the S24 Ultra becomes prominent. On the other hand, the S25 Ultra now aligns with the S25/Plus. This might be Samsung’s plan, but still incomplete.

Therefore, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is curving the frame further. At first glance, the S26 Ultra appears to be taking a more modern design approach. This is true, and the device is looking good, but my exploration of the frame could help us to understand the upcoming strategy.

Renders coming from famous tipster Evleaks have provided a look at the Galaxy S26/S26 Plus. The phone features a flat screen, slim frame, and a new camera island on the back.

What’s the difference?

The new standard and the Plus will bring a slightly reduced corner radius than the S25/S25 Plus. To show the difference, I’ve done a side-by-side comparison of the new and old devices and made some horizontal and vertical guidelines to measure the corner radius.

Check the meeting point of these lines and measure the distance from the bezel and frames.

The meeting point on the S26 ends inside the frame, while it goes to the very end of the frame on the predecessor. An overlap version between the Galaxy S26, S25, S24, and S23 will also draw a concise conclusion.

I thought that this could be a standalone change, but when I compared the S26 with the S26 Ultra render, the picture became even clearer.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra now has the same roundness as the S26, and the difference here is only the bezel size and frame, which is thinner in the Ultra. Besides, the corner curve for all three models is likely to be the same in the S26 series.

I get the bigger picture here: by forming identical corners, these phones will stop looking different. So the only difference will be the device sizes. The camera design and the design are also the same. The only difference maker was the shape of the top device, which may go away with the next lineup, aligning the symmetry of the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and the S26 Ultra.

It seems like the Samsung Galaxy S26 series is leaning heavily on software and AI to improve photos, rather than making big camera hardware upgrades. Fans hoping for a major camera leap may be disappointed, but the new software tools could still improve photography.

Instead of just leaving a call unanswered, callers can record a voice message that appears directly on your phone. However, in some conditions, the direct voicemail does not work on your Galaxy phones.

Direct Voicemail

Direct Voicemail lets you decide how long your phone rings before sending a call to voicemail. You can set it anywhere from 1 to 20 seconds or trigger voicemail manually during a call.

Once the voicemail is recorded, it is saved in the contact’s history, which makes it easy to review along with your incoming, outgoing, and missed calls. You can see these voice messages in the Phone app, read a short transcription, and even improve the audio using Samsung’s Audio Eraser.

When You Can’t Use It:

While Direct Voicemail is convenient, there are some situations when it does not work. These are:

• Your phone is switched off or has no network. In this case, Direct Voicemail won’t work.
• You are already on another call. The feature cannot record another voicemail at the same time.
• You are roaming internationally. Direct Voicemail does not work outside your home country.
• Your phone storage is almost full. Messages may fail to record or save properly.
• The call is a video call. Direct Voicemail only works for voice calls.

In these situations, One UI 8.5 Direct Voicemail does not work on your Samsung Galaxy smartphones.

When it comes to Direct Voicemail, Samsung and Apple are circling the same idea. It’s about letting the phone handle missed calls more gracefully, without forcing users to pick up or dig through clutter later.

Though Samsung comes late to the Direct Voicemail offer, its version is smarter than Apple’s. It’s because of two advantages, including a voice enhancer powered by Galaxy AI and an auto send trigger for convenience.

Voicemail with Audio Eraser

Apple’s Live Voicemail records faithfully, but that is also the limitation. What you hear later is exactly what the microphone captured, noise and all.

One UI 8.5’s direct voicemail is officially released, and we’ve tried it out firsthand to give you a review of its newest capabilities. Apple has voicemail for quite some time now, and it’s quite a useful feature. Last year, Samsung also spotted testing this capability, and now, it’s finally launched for flagship phones.

The direct voicemail feature allows the caller to leave a voicemail message when they miss a call. Prior to leaving the message, the caller will hear a voicemail greeting, like “Please leave the message at the tone”.

During the recording, the receiver will have the option to answer or end the recording. Once recorded, the voicemail will be saved in the phone associated with a contact.

How to enable

For starters, the feature will show up as a notification on the dialer app. It is now a part of the Call settings, under “Direct voicemail”.

Besides the full ring, you can manually trigger the voicemail anytime from more options on the calling screen.

You can also decide when to send the incoming calls to voicemail after ringing. You can set 5, 10, or seconds or set a custom mark from 1 to 20 seconds.

Review Voicemail

One UI 8.5 brings a new blue voicemail icon in front of the contact name. Expanding the contact detail will reveal the voicemail duration and one line of transcribed summary. From here, you navigate to the voicemail screen, and it’s pretty much like the voice transcription.

You can check the transcription, summarize the call, check the playback, and remove background audio to improve the message’s clarity. You can delete voicemails from the settings. To be mentioned, the feature requires the mobile to be connected to a network.

Samsung Display is planning to make more OLED screens for Apple’s new foldable iPhones. This shows that Apple expects strong sales for its first foldable phone.

According to information via ETNews, Samsung Display is considering investing in its A4 factory in Asan, South Chungcheong Province. The company wants to improve its equipment for making screens, which includes thin-film transistors (TFT). The final investment plan will be decided soon, and work could start in the second quarter of this year.

Samsung Display already has a special line for Apple’s foldable iPhones at its A3 factory. This line has been upgraded to make the “iPhone Fold” and can produce 15 million 7-inch foldable screens every year. Mass production of these screens is expected to begin in June. The iPhone Fold will be Apple’s first foldable phone.

Earlier reports reveal that this phone will reportedly have a 7.58-inch screen inside with a 4:3 shape and a 5.35-inch screen outside. Around 10 million units are expected to be made this year. When Samsung opened the One UI 8.5 beta program, users enjoyed the sheer amount of excitement the software offered through its new upgrades, but the delayed rollout plans are turning its experience into an old-age wagon.

Samsung initated first beta in early December, allowing the Galaxy S25 series users to test the latest features. The company has heavily modified the UI, one of the most important things that it needed to refresh the user experience.

This includes the redesigned UI elements, which look better than before. Core features, such as quick panel layout is now fully customizable. Despite opening the program in December 2025, Samsung has released only three beta versions. The third beta was released on January 5th, and the fourth has been hanging in the pipeline for over a month.

The company needs to test the software and make important improvements in order quash bugs and prepare a ready-to-use build. Yet, the past three rollout progressed pretty smoothly, and the fourth isn’t. What kind of bug just hit the development cycle that’s stretching the beta timeline? Nobody knows.

Regarding this delay, a beta moderator from the Samsung Korea community said that the beta rollout schedule is subject to change based on testing. However, the moderator refrained from estimating any news regarding a new beta rollout.

The problem here is not the fourth beta; instead, it’s the delay of the final release. The moderator made that announcement in late January, and there’s no release as of the first week of February. The sudden stretch in the beta timeline is both ambiguous and frustrating from a S24 Ultra user’s perspective.

Based on previous reports, One UI 8.5 will be featured first with the Galaxy S26 series, which is scheduled to launch on February 25 (based on leaks). That means the fourth One UI 8.5 beta should be dropping next week, if not delayed any further.

The One UI 7.0 and One UI 8.0 testing and release schedule suggest that the One UI 8.5 might not get an immediate release for previous flagships, including the Galaxy S25 series, on the S26 series launch day.

YouTube Music is making a change for people who like to see song lyrics. Now, full lyrics will only be available to people who pay for a subscription. This change has been tested in recent months and is now coming to many users around the world.

If you do not have a subscription, you can still see lyrics for five songs for free. After that, only the first few lines will show. The rest of the lyrics will be blurred and cannot be read. On the Now Playing screen, a message will tell you how many free lyric views you have left and ask you to unlock lyrics with a premium.

WhatsApp is testing a new feature on iOS that lets users save photo and video drafts, and it could soon be available for Android users as well. The feature is currently part of the WhatsApp beta for iOS version 26.5.10.73, available via TestFlight.

The new tool allows users to save photos and videos they are editing instead of sending them immediately. For example, if you crop a photo, trim a video, or add stickers and drawings, you can tap the “Save” button in the drawing editor. A message will confirm that your media has been saved, and it will appear in your Photos app among recent items.

Some Samsung users have reported an issue after a recent update to the Sound Assistant Good Lock app. The issue affects how audio switches between Bluetooth devices and the phone and has caused confusion for users who depend on this feature daily. The issue appears when users connect their phones to Bluetooth devices such as car audio systems or wireless speakers. Many people use the red check circle button in the volume panel to quickly switch sound between the Bluetooth device and the phone’s speaker. Before the update, this feature worked without any trouble.

After the recent update, switching the sound back to the phone sometimes causes the device to suddenly move to the lock screen. This can happen while watching videos on apps like YouTube or when connecting and disconnecting Bluetooth speakers. The sudden screen change breaks the flow and feels unexpected.

This issue has been reported by a Galaxy Z Fold 5 user, who explained that the issue started only after the recent update. The user also received an error message saying the feature was unavailable. Reinstalling the Sound Assistant app fixed the error message, but the lock screen issue still occurs in certain situations.

Google is updating the Gemini app on Android, iOS, and the web. These changes make the app easier to use and give it a cleaner look. The update mainly focuses on the Tools menu and the “My stuff” section.

The new Tools menu first appeared on the Gemini website earlier this week. Now, it is gradually rolling out to Android and iOS users. On Android, the Tools menu opens from the bottom of the screen and now has a clear name at the top. This helps users understand what the menu is for.

At the bottom of the menu, there is a new section – Experimental features. It has a “Labs” label and shows features that Google is still testing.

There is also a new option, Personal Intelligence, for Google AI subscribers in the US. Users can turn this on or off for the current chat only. This lets people choose whether Gemini can use personal information during that conversation.

On iOS, the Tools menu has changed in how it looks and opens. Instead of using the system pop-up menu, it now appears as a bottom sheet, similar to the model picker in the app. The ‘plus’ button used for adding attachments has not changed.

I have been in the Samsung club for a long time. Every Ultra since the S22, every Foldable from the Fold4 up to the current 7, I have owned them all. I use these things for everything from long work trips to late-night report preparation. I love the tech, but I am getting tired. Spending $1,000 on a phone should buy you big changes. Minor yearly upgrades just don’t justify that high price tag.

With Unpacked coming up on Feb 25, the leaks are all over the place. Faster 60W charging, rounder corners, a new privacy screen… okay, cool. But it feels like more of the same. If Samsung wants me to hit that “buy” button without thinking twice, the company needs to actually listen to what users like me are asking for.

1. Give us a real battery

Samsung should stop with the 5,000mAh cap. It’s been years – 7th year in a row. Between the massive screens, multitasking, and all the AI stuff running in the background, I started looking for a charger by 7 PM. Chinese smartphone brands are already hitting 6,000 or 7,000mAh by using denser silicon-carbon cells. Why is Samsung still stuck in 2022? I’ll take the slightly faster 60W charging, sure, but I’d trade that in a bigger battery that actually lasts two full days. There’s a rumor that Apple’s 2026 iPhone will include a 5500mAh battery inside.

2. A “Pro” size for normal humans

The 6.9-inch screen is amazing for movies, but it’s a total brick in every pocket. I wish Samsung would do what Apple does. Give us a smaller 6.5 or 6.7-inch Ultra that has the same cameras and chip, more like Pro and Pro Max. Honestly? I barely use the S Pen anymore, well, for drawing. I’d gladly trade away all those extra features if it meant I could finally use my phone comfortably with just one hand.

3. Better sensors > More Megapixels

I am done with the 200MP gimmick. Give me a 1-inch sensor instead. I am looking for a natural bokeh and less noise in the dark, not that weird “AI-smoothed” look we keep getting. If Xiaomi can fit a massive sensor in a flagship, why can’t the industry leader? Also, let us share custom camera profiles.

I’d rather download a pro’s “night mode” settings than adjust everything myself. Manually changing every setting every time is just too much work.

4. Magnets

The rumors saying no built-in Qi2 magnets for the S26 is just… disappointing. Apple’s MagSafe changed the game for car mounts and stands. Having to buy a special case just to use magnets on a $1,300 flagship in 2026 feels idiotic. Just build the coils into the body and get it over with. You can do this Sammy.

5. Colors

The “Titanium” grey/black stuff is classy, I get it, but it’s boring (for me). Bring back the fun. Give me a bright metallic orange like the S22 Ultra had, or a deep purple that is actually beautiful.

6. Overheating

The new Snapdragon chips are fast, but the Ultra still throttles and gets hot if anyone is gaming or shooting 8K for more than 15/20 minutes. We need better cooling. If Samsung is making the phone slimmer this year, I really hope the company didn’t sacrifice the vapor chamber to do it.

Look, as a Samsung fan, I love the S Pen, and the displays are second to none. But I want to feel that “wow” factor again. If the Galaxy S26 Ultra is just a slightly thinner S25, I might actually skip a generation for the first time.

Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy F70e smartphone on February 9. As the launch date gets closer, the phone has appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform. The listing gives an early idea about the phone’s performance and hardware.

The Geekbench listing reveals that the Galaxy F70e is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. In the benchmark test, the phone got 735 points in the single-core test and 1967 points in the multi-core test. The GPU score is around 1400, which means gaming and graphics performance will stay mostly the same.

From the details shared on Geekbench, it is clear that the Galaxy F70e does not bring major performance changes compared to its earlier model. Notably, the testing is done on the 4GB RAM. The listing also shows the model number SM-E076B and build version E076BXXU1AZA1.

Even though Samsung has used a new naming this year, the performance level remains similar to the older Galaxy F06 5G, which used the same chipset. This suggests that Samsung is focusing more on design and software only.

Just recently, Samsung Gulf kickstarted an awarding campaign linked to the Unpacked, with its terms revealed Galaxy S26 launch date.

Samsung Gulf is asking netizens what it’s going to unveil at the Galaxy Unpacked. The video clip alone has no hint of the launch date, but the terms and conditions page does.

The company encourages people to comment as much as possible to amplify winning chances. Winners would receive a Galaxy S25 FE smartphone or the Galaxy Watch 8 smartwatch.

Fans just need to respond in comments and use the #GalaxyUnpacked hashtag. The campaign began on February 2 and remains live through April 10.

The teaser, highlighting “Next level privacy,” primarily focuses on the Privacy Display feature. Upon closely viewing the teaser reveals a better look at the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s selfie snapper, screen bezels, rounded corners, and buttons.

Samsung has increased the curvature of Galaxy S26 Ultra corners. With the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung dumped the boxy design. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is a step forward in Samsung’s aim to unify design across all models.

The selfie camera’s hole is getting a little bigger than the S25 Ultra. It’s a wise answer to Apple’s iPhone 17, which offers better group selfies. Samsung has enlarged the hole in the display to extend the field of view of the selfie shooter.

Next come the bezels that separate the screen from the phone’s frame. The Galaxy S26 Ultra shows very thin bezels that are symmetric (equally thick from all sides). It’s said that the bezels have the same thickness as the S25 Ultra.

The right side of the device features three physical buttons. Two of those buttons allow users to adjust the speakers’ volume. The side key is multifunctional as you can make it a dedicated AI key or use it as a power button.

Android has entered a security dead zone. More than 1 billion Android users are now running phones that no longer receive critical protection. For Samsung fans, this is no longer an abstract risk/problem; it has become personal.

Android’s latest distribution data shows Android 16 on just 7.5 percent of devices, Android 15 sits at 19.3 percent, Android 14 at 17.9 percent and Android 13 at 13.9 percent. Everything below that line is effectively abandoned.

The stats reveal that more than 40 percent of Android users are stuck on Android 12 or older. That is over a billion phones running without critical security fixes.

As of February 2026, the Galaxy S21 series has officially reached End of Life. The Galaxy S21 FE (Fan Edition) model survives a little longer, but the core lineup is done.

Google has already warned that Android is once again under active attack from new spyware campaigns. These are not theoretical threats, but live, and none of the outdated devices are protected against them.

Google’s advice sounds reassuring at first glance. Play Protect still supports devices as far back as Android 7. Malware signatures are updated, and apps can continue receiving their own security updates from developers.

“Google Play Protect, Android’s built-in malware and unwanted software protection, continues to support devices as far back as Android 7 to help keep users safe,” a Google spokesperson told Zak Doffman of Forbes.

That helps, but it is not enough as Play Protect does not patch the kernel or deep system-level vulnerabilities. That said, a four-year-old Samsung flagship is now less secure than a modern mid-range phone.

Apple is facing its own mess, with iOS 26 adoption moving more slowly than expected. Until users update, iPhones are also exposed. But that problem has an expiration date. Those iPhones will be upgraded over the coming months.

I am a Samsung guy. I love the S Pen, I love the ridiculous screens, and I usually think Apple is about three years late to every hardware party. But the 2026 leaks are starting to look… different. If the iPhone 18 Pro Max actually hits the marks we are hearing about, Samsung might face a real fight with Apple in 2026. Let’s talk about the stuff that actually matters.

The Battery Gap:

We have all been making fun of Apple’s “efficient” (tiny) batteries for a decade, but the tables are turning. Rumors suggest the iPhone 18 Pro Max is jumping to a 5,200mAh cell. Meanwhile, the S26 Ultra looks like it’s sticking to 5,000mAh for what feels like the 10th year (actually 7th) in a row.

I know capacity isn’t everything, but when you pair that bigger battery with Apple’s new 2nm A20 chipset, the gains are going to be stupid. We are talking “forgot to charge it last night and it doesn’t matter” levels of battery life.

Samsung is supposedly increasing the S26 Ultra up to 60W charging, which is great, but I’d honestly rather have a phone that just stays alive longer in the first place. You want it too, right?

Specs vs. Real Life Cameras:

Samsung always wins the megapixel war – 200MP is a cool number to put on a box, but Apple is finally joining the variable aperture game for 2026. This is the area that actually makes photos look like they came from a real camera/DSLR. The advantage of this tech, you will get better natural blur, better low-light, and none of that weird, fake-smooth look that Samsung’s AI sometimes overdoes.

Also, can we talk about the under-display Face ID? Apple is likely to add just a tiny punch-hole in 2026, as per rumors. Samsung has been doing under-display cameras on the Fold for a while, but let’s be honest: it usually looks like a screen door to me. If Apple manages to hide the sensors without ruining the display quality, the S26 Ultra is going to look a bit dated with its centered hole-punch.

Software Update Problems:

Samsung made a big deal about seven years of updates, and then Apple is like “hold my beer” and pushed a software update for an iPhone older than 11 years. For most of us, that doesn’t matter because we trade in every two or three years anyway. But for resale value? It’s huge. It makes an old iPhone worth way more than an old Galaxy.

Samsung officially retired the Galaxy S21 series, leaving millions of users confused about what to do next. The decision came right before the unveiling of the Galaxy S26 series, and that’s going to be a massive upgrade for fans.

This month, Samsung made it official that the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra are now EOL. The three devices are no longer eligible for new security patches. January 2026 patch arrived last month as probably the last SMR.

The Galaxy S21 series was pushed to quarterly updates back in early 2025. That was the warning sign, with February 2026 being the line in the sand.

The S21 Ultra still feels solid as the display holds up, performance is smooth, and One UI is still seamless. Day-to-day use does not suddenly fall apart, but security does not care how smooth your scrolling feels.

No SMR means no protection against newly discovered zero-day exploits. No fixes for banking trojans that target outdated kernels. No patches for Qualcomm vulnerabilities that attackers already know how to chain.

If you use mobile banking, UPI apps, work profiles, or even store passwords locally, you are trusting an OS that no longer gets emergency doors welded shut. Samsung’s One UI updates will not save you here.

Telegram for Android is getting a major upgrade this February, bringing an iOS-style UI (user interface) and unlocking access to the Stories feature for everyone.

On February 6, Telegram pushed a new update for Android users, which adopts UI changes from its iOS version. Upon checking the user interface changes, I found a working Stories menu, and further inspection revealed that Stories is now open.

Telegram for Android has reduced the height of the Header. The app label has been retained, accompanied by Stories. The hamburger menu has been repositioned from the left to the right side for easier access.

The “Search chats” has become a full bar, replacing the legacy icon. If you use the folders feature, you may notice another change with terms aligned inside pills. The bottom side has also added a navigation bar with four items:

1. Chats
2. Contacts
3. Settings
4. Profile

Telegram has also tweaked the design of Settings and simplified various options. It’s now even easier to find tools and options. The settings page also features a search icon, which will help you easily find the required settings.

Well, posting stories is already available on the Beta channel and specific accounts.

Telegram Stories

Wide arrival of Telegram Stories is the big news of the day. The feature was previously limited to premium subscribers. Reports suggest Stories have become available to some users for a limited time, but Telegram later pulled the feature.

With the latest UI, Telegram is allowing users to post stories. You can access it from the Chats screen, which lets you capture photos, videos or select one from the Gallery.

Selecting a picture or video takes you to the next section, which offers cool customization options like drawing, stickers, link, location, weather, audio and so on.

Once done, you are headed to the final phase of posting a Story on Telegram. If you own channels, you can switch to the personal account. Privacy limits include Everyone, My Contacts, Close Friends, and Selected Users.

Like Instagram archives, Telegram lets you create an automatic album linked to your account. Stories posted will be saved in a dedicated album, which will remain accessible even after the Story expires after the timeline.

Per the official statement, Google says it’s just a label bug. It means the January 2026 update is still installed, just the info UI presenting it as the November release. Well, a fix for affected devices is already being prepared.

Credible leaker Evan Blass continues to expose the Galaxy S26 Ultra ahead of Unpacked, and the latest installment reveals the design in a 360-degree video. It’s the first time we’re seeing the device in its final look without a watermark.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra comes with slightly more rounded corners than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It’s crafted on a solid base of its predecessor with refinements. Samsung has also trimmed the bezels to extend the display area of the panel.

On the back, the flagship features three cameras inside an island. Two more rings are placed next to the camera bump, which include a ToF sensor and a Telephoto camera. Three cameras surrounded by the bump includes:

According to reports (via Jukan), Samsung could kickstart Tesla AI5 chip manufacturing for trials, and Elon Musk is joining meetings. Beyond AI5, Samsung Foundry will also produce the next-generation AI6 processors for Tesla.

Tesla is putting considerable effort into the AI chip development and production preparation process with Samsung. In particular, Tesla CEO Elon Musk is reportedly personally overseeing key progress and leading the project.

It seems Samsung may turn its Taylor factory operational even before the schedule. It was said to enter production stage in the latter half of 2026, but trial production starting this month only signals a significant development.

Unlike Galaxy phones, Samsung Galaxy Watch models get security updates once a quarter. It seems Samsung has extended the software support for its OG Galaxy Watch lineup by a year, offering up to five years of updates.

When launched, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Classic were promised to receive new updates for four years. Samsung surprised fans by confirming the availability of One UI 8 Watch; as promised, it rolled out the update as well.

After One UI 8 Watch, the Galaxy Watch 4, along with Watch 5 and Watch 6, have also received a newer security patch dated January 2026. The company may offer at least two more security updates through August this year.

If Galaxy Watch 4 exits this August, Galaxy Watch 5 may be ousted around the same time in 2027, and Watch 6 in 2028. The watches will remain as functional as before, just the security status will render vulerable.

Google may soon let people make 3D avatars of themselves using Gemini. These avatars could be used in video calls when you don’t want to show your real face. The idea is similar to Apple’s Persona on the Vision Pro or Samsung’s Likeness feature on the Galaxy XR headset.

OBS CEO Yiannis Exarchos says the goal is to “complement core broadcast coverage” with perspectives that feel native to how fans already consume content on their phones.

Over 75,000 people will be in the stadium, but millions more will watch on screens where mobile-first framing actually makes sense. The real story here is how Samsung is deploying Galaxy AI across Milano Cortina’s geography.

Volunteers stationed in high-altitude or remote venues will use Galaxy AI’s Interpreter to communicate with athletes and officials. Since translation happens on the device itself, it works even when network coverage is not available.

Samsung phones are losing resale value to Apple. Fresh data from the used phone market signals worsning situation of the retention rate. The numbers tell a grim story, and Samsung fans have seen this movie before.

Only this time, the gap has blown out to something close to embarrassing. As of December 2025, the average used iPhone is trading at around $485 (KRW 705,494). A comparable used Samsung device sits at merely $130 (KRW 188,616).

The value gap between Apple and Samsung phones stretched to 3.7x, up sharply from 2.9x just a year earlier. Make no mistake, this is not a market fluke; it is a structural problem that Samsung keeps pretending is temporary.

The iPhone 17 Pro (256GB) traded at 1,633,089 won in January, five months after launch, dropping only 8.8% from its retail price (1.79 million won).

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Ultra (256GB) had a used market price of 1,093,828 won at the same point, down 604,572 won (35.6%) from its retail price (1,698,400 won).

While the price difference is 540,000 won, the depreciation rate gap is approximately 4 times. The Ultra line is supposed to be the Android answer to the iPhone Pro.

The reality is, resale value reflects belief. Belief in longevity, brand discipline, and pricing sanity. Apple protects its floor aggressively, but Samsung keeps blowing holes in it.

I’ve held the Galaxy S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra, S24 Ultra, and S25 Ultra. The latter phones bring a more premium finish and a better in-hand experience than the former two. However, that’s the only thing that separates the S24U and S25U from their predecessors.

Ultimately, consumers won’t mind holding an aluminum Galaxy S26 Ultra if Samsung can justify removing the titanium and adding important hardware upgrades.

Spatial Signage

Spatial Signage is Samsung’s latest attempt to make 3D viable in real commercial environments. The display relies on the company’s proprietary 3D Plate technology, which creates depth behind the LCD panel itself rather than projecting outward.

The first global model measures 85 inches and uses a 4K UHD panel with a 2,160 x 3,840 resolution in a 9:16 portrait layout. Retail floors, museums, luxury storefronts, and entertainment venues are the primary targets.

Korea’s ETNews, citing industry sources reveal that Samsung plans to manufacture around 3.5 million Galaxy Z Fold 8 units for the second half of 2026, compared to just 2.5 to 3 million Galaxy Z Flip 8 devices.

This marks a historic production reversal that nobody saw coming three years ago when the clamshell Flip dominated sales at a comfortable 60-70 percent share.

Google is finally admitting what Pixel users have known for years. With Android 16 QPR3 Beta 2, Adaptive Connectivity is no longer a single, vague toggle buried in network settings. It is now split into two clear controls, each with a specific job and a clearer promise.

Until now, Adaptive Connectivity lived as a lone on-off switch under Settings, Network and internet. Google said it would extend battery life and manage connections automatically. You flipped it on and hoped the phone made the right call when Wi-Fi turned unreliable or power drain lagged in.

In QPR3 Beta 2 (via 9to5Google), Adaptive Connectivity becomes two separate toggles, both enabled by default.

One focuses purely on stability. Auto switch to mobile network does exactly what the name suggests. When Wi-Fi quality drops, the phone prioritizes staying connected, even if that means jumping to mobile data.

The second toggle is about restraint. Optimize network for battery life chooses the most efficient connection with power savings in mind, not raw reliability.

Technically, the change appears tied to an update of Adaptive Connectivity Services, recently pushed via Google System Services as version p.2026.01.

In Android 16 QPR3 Beta 2, the old single toggle is gone. In its place sit the two new options, described in plain language, inside the same Network and internet menu.

This split matters more than it may look at first glance. One more QPR3 beta is expected later this month. The stable Android 16 QPR3 release is still lined up for March.

February 2026 version of the Samsung update roadmap has brought bad news for the users of the Galaxy S21 series, S22 series, and S21 FE. Notable reshuffle has been carried out, with some getting ousted and others getting downgraded.

Samsung today released the February 2026 patch details and software roadmap. This month’s roadmap carried out major changes, removing 2021’s flagship lineup from support and demoting the 2022’s premium phones alongside an FE.

Galaxy S21 series will no longer receive software updates. The Galaxy S22 series will now get new updates on a quarterly basis. The S21 FE has also been transferred to the Quarterly schedule, demoted from the Monthly tier.

Samsung has made the details of its February 2026 security update public. Galaxy phones, foldables, and tablets will receive over three dozen CVE and SVE items combined.

February 2026 update brings 37 patches to Samsung devices, including smartphones, foldable phones, and tablets. Among the total improvements, 25 come from Google for Android and 12 are provided by Samsung Mobile.

Google no longer introduces “critical” patches in the monthly bulletin. The company has tweaked the mechanism to benefit a wide range of Android devices. The February patch features 25 “high” level CVEs for Samsung devices.

One UI SVEs

One UI is based on Android, yet Samsung specifically brings SVE items to further cement Galaxy’s security and reliability. The latest iteration carries 12 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures items for Galaxy device users.

Samsung’s February 2026 SMR has 12 patches for One UI labeled as “High” and “Moderate.”

Samsung Galaxy S26 Global version has now appeared on Geekbench, revealing the Exynos 2600’s CPU and GPU performance benchmarks.

Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus will launch with Exynos 2600 in the Global market, whereas the Galaxy S26 Ultra will go solo with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Samsung’s in-house chip has made great improvements in CPU and GPU stats.

The Galaxy S26 vanilla model has spotted on Geekbench with the Exynos 2600 chipset. The device scored up to 3336 points in single-core CPU performance tests and up to 11369 in multi-core CPU performance tests.

The base Galaxy S26 was also tested on Geekbench’s GPU benchmark. The phone benchmarked at 27478 points in Vulkan, indicating strong performance. This is backed by Samsung’s Xclipse 960 GPU powered by AMD graphics.

The Exynos 2600 chipset features a deca-core CPU, consisting of a tri-cluster architecture. It has a prime core clocked at 3.8 GHz, 3 performance cores hitting 3.26 GHz, and six efficiency cores peaking at 2.76 GHz.

Additional info revealed in the benchmark test includes Android 16-based One UI skin and 12GB of RAM. The device is set to launch with One UI 8.5 preinstalled and storage options start from 256GB; there’s no 128GB version.

The device was tested a handful of times on the Geekbench platform. Scores remained stable, indicating that the company has finally achieved reliability. From this point, only further improvements are likely till release.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series is widely expected to bring Qi2 wireless charging upgrade. Samsung also has a new Magnet Charger with Qi2 support, which could launch this month, but a new leak signals troubling info for fans.

Recently, NewMobile leaked images of the S26 Ultra’s S Pen along with official cases and screen protectors. The leaks indicate that the transparent cases may or may not have a magnetic ring for wireless charging.

This revelation suggests that the Galaxy S26 series may not have Qi2 magnets inside. If true, it’s a massive letdown after a long streak of leaks of arrival. Fans would have to rely on official cases to support Qi2 wireless charging.

Case with magnets is to support Qi2 charging, while the regular transparent case that lack magnetic field on the back is the point. If there’s a case exist without magnets, it’s simply telling us that there is no native Qi2 magnet inside.

In the past, we’ve seen leaks of upgraded wireless charging standards and Qi2-compatible power banks. The recently leaked Magnet Charger also signaled the upgraded charging standard, but that’s not going to happen.

Meanwhile, it’s said that the Galaxy S26 Ultra may charge at up to 25W wirelessly. Samsung could be bringing 15W or 20W charging to the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus.

Galaxy S25 series and later flagships are already Qi2 charging-ready. Buy a Qi2-compatible case, and your phone will begin supporting Qi2 charging. The same could have to be done with the new Samsung Galaxy flagships.

Samsung Display will reportedly begin production at its new Gen 8 OLED factory, A6, in May. This will be the first factory in the world to make OLED screens using Gen 8 technology.

Gen 8 means the factory uses very large glass sheets to make screens. Bigger glass allows the company to make bigger screens more easily and at lower cost. These large OLED screens are mainly used in laptops and tablets. Today, most phone OLED screens are still made in Gen 6 factories, which use smaller glass.

Samsung Display has already told its suppliers that glass substrates will be added to the A6 production line in May. This is a sign that the factory is almost ready to run at full speed. The screens made at this factory will be used in Apple’s future MacBook laptops. Apple plans to launch MacBooks with OLED screens later this year, in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes.

The Korean tech giant expects to ship about 2 million OLED screens for MacBooks this year. Some parts needed to finish the display are still under development. Apple is also changing some designs to save money. Because the final assembly happens later, Samsung Display wants to make enough screens first.

Samsung’s new phone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, could cost more than last year’s Galaxy S25 Ultra. The main reason is that the price of important parts like RAM (memory) and storage has gone up. These higher costs are affecting many electronics, and now smartphones are being affected too.

Reports say the Galaxy S26 Ultra could cost about 6% more than the S25 Ultra. The S25 Ultra started at $1,299.99 for the 256GB model. With a 6% increase, the S26 Ultra could cost around $1,377.

Samsung may bring a new way to unlock phones with your face on the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The exciting part is that it could be very secure without needing a large cutout or notch. This means the phone can stay sleek and all-screen.

According to the information, the new technology is called Polar ID. Unlike normal face unlock, which uses 3D sensors and many parts, Polar ID works by looking at how light reflects off your skin. Everyone’s skin reflects light in a unique way. 

The new system is also very fast. When you look at your phone, it sends out infrared light and captures both the image and how the light reflects. This happens in about 180 milliseconds, so unlocking your phone is almost instant.

Polar ID is much smaller than current face unlock systems. Normal systems need many parts, like cameras and projectors, which take up space. Polar ID combines everything into one module that is 50% smaller. This means Samsung could fit it inside a small punch-hole camera, keeping the phone’s screen clean and smooth.

Samsung has already released the One UI 8.5 Beta 3 update for the Galaxy S25 series. For a long time, the company has been working on the next beta update. Now, new information confirms that One UI 8.5 Beta 4 is coming to Galaxy S25 models in the US.

According to tipster Tarun Vats, a new One UI 8.5 beta build has appeared on Samsung’s US testing servers for the Galaxy S25 lineup. This confirms that the Beta 4 update is ready for the US region. Earlier, the testing beta build was also spotted on servers in other regions, including South Korea.

The new build version is S938USQU7ZZAH, which shows that Samsung is actively testing the next beta update. This also suggests that Samsung may release more beta updates before launching the final stable version.

Samsung has already confirmed that the stable One UI 8.5 update will be released with the Galaxy S26 series, which is expected to launch on 25 February 2025. Since we are already in February 2026, there is still a chance that one more beta update could arrive before the stable rollout.

Earlier, the One UI 8.5 Beta 4 changelog was leaked online. It revealed several fixes and improvements for Galaxy S25 users. It’s been a year since the Samsung Galaxy S25 series entered sales, and after shipping millions of units worldwide, the lineup’s stock has started a reverse countdown.

It’s always a good time to buy a Galaxy device right before the launch of its successor. Samsung customers know this strategy and wait until the last moment to turn this situation into an opportunity.

The reason behind this thinking is based on the price discounts on the outgoing model. Hence, the company doesn’t want to keep selling the old unit in the face of a new release. Now, Samsung is emptying its inventory of the Galaxy S25 series.

The change has appeared on the online order page of the base and the Plus variants. As some of the color options are already out of stock. Among these, the 128GB variant is receiving extra attention, with its three online store colors – Mint, Icyblue, and Silver Shadow- no longer available. Yet, the online exclusive colors of the Galaxy S25 series are still in stock.

The same changes are also observed on the locked model for at least two color variants. However, this scenario remains irrelevant to the S25 Ultra, as all of its versions are still open for orders, at least for now.

This is a completely usual practice for the phone maker, as it phases out the existing stock of the concurrent flagship phones. Samsung may restock the outsold models, but it remains highly doubtful.

On the other hand, a teaser leak has confirmed that the Galaxy S26 series will launch on February 25, 2026. Given this revelation, Samsung may drain the stock further as we near the next Unpacked event. Samsung phones, like the Galaxy S24 FE, come with a system app, AICore. This app helps run AI features on the phone. A big benefit is that it can do many of these things on the phone itself, without needing the internet. Some people, however, might want to turn it off to save storage or battery.

In a recent experiment by Android Authority, it has been decided to disable AICore. The process involved navigating to Settings >> Apps >> AICore, then selecting Force Stop and Disable. Additionally, the they enabled the “Process data only on device” option in Galaxy AI to ensure remaining AI tasks would continue to run locally.

After disabling it, they noticed very little change. Some AI features, like Generative Edit in the Gallery or Summarize in Samsung Internet, now asked to use the internet instead of working locally. Since these features were rarely used, it didn’t make much difference. Other features, like Circle to Search and Live Transcribe, continued to work normally.

Turning off AICore didn’t make a noticeable difference in speed or battery life. The app takes about 1.3GB of storage, but it doesn’t use much RAM, and battery performance stayed about the same. On other phones, some users have seen better battery life after disabling it, so results may vary.

One thing to keep in mind is privacy. With AICore off, tasks that used to run on the phone may now go through the internet. For those who want AI tasks to stay private, keeping it on is safer.

For people who use AI features very low, turning off AICore is generally fine. So, it frees up some storage without breaking the main features of the phone.
