Gelen son bilgilere göre sarı-lacivertliler, bir dönem kadrosunda bulunan Berke Özer'i yeniden listesine aldı. Beşiktaş Teknik Direktörü Sergen Yalçın’ın da kadrosunda görmeyi çok istediği belirtilen Berke Özer için Fenerbahçe ilk hamleyi yaptı. Fenerbahçe kurmayları, genç kalecinin menajeriyle ilk görüşmeyi gerçekleştirerek şartları sordu.

Daha önce Fenerbahçe forması giyen ancak beklenen büyük patlamayı bir türlü gerçekleştiremeyen Berke Özer için "yuvaya dönüş" ihtimali ilk kez bu kadar ciddi şekilde masaya yatırıldı. Hem yerli kuralı hem de oyuncunun potansiyeli, bu transferi Fenerbahçe cephesinde cazip kılan unsurların başında geliyor.

Fenerbahçe'nin Kayserispor deplasmanında ilk 11'de sahaya çıkan Skriniar, ikinci yarıya çıkamadı. Sarı-lacivertli taraftarların yüreklerini apızlara getiren bu değişikliğin nedeni ortaya çıktı.

Sakatlı nedeniyle uzun süre Fenerbahçe'de forma giyemeyen Skriniar, Kayserispor deplasmanında sahaya çıktı. Slovak oyuncunun ikinci yarıya çıkmaması sarı-lacivertli taraftarlarda "yine mi sakatlandı" korkusuna neden oldu.

31 yaşındaki defans oyuncusunun ikinci yarıya kendi isteğiyle çıkmadığı ortaya çıktı. Skriniar, yaşadığı durumla ilgili şu açıklamayı yaptı:

-Sakatlığım tam olarak geçmemişti. Ancak takımımın bana çok ihtiyacı vardı. Onları yalnız bırakamazdım. Hocamın Tedesco'dan forma istedim. Ancak ilk yarı sonunda ağrılar hissettim. Maça devam etmem imkansızdı. Devam etsem çok daha ciddi durumlarla karşı karşıya kalabilirdim. O yüzden oyundan kendi isteğimle çıktım.

Kayserispor deplasmanında 2 gol birden atarak eleştirilerin önünü kesen Talisca, kendisine güvenenleri mahçup etmedi. Bu maça kadar uzun süredir suskun olan yıldız oyuncunun bu performansı yönetime oh çektirdi. Bilindiği gibi Fenerbahçe'de sözleşme yenilemeden önce fırtına estiren Anderson Talisca, imzayı attıktan sonra adeta tanınmaz hale geldi! Kasım-Ocak arası 10 gol 2 asistle şampiyonluk ateşini yakan Sambacı, 8 Şubat'tan sonra çıktığı 6 maçta sadece 2 gol atabilirken; kritik Avrupa ve kupa maçlarında takımını yalnız bırakarak hayal kırıklığı yarattı.

Kayserispor deplasmanında 2 golle fırtına gibi esen Talisca, sezonun sonlarına yaklaşırken taraftarlara derin bir oh çektirdi.Fenerbahçe'de Kasım ve Aralık aylarında fırtına estiren Talisca, yeni sözleşmeyi kaptıktan sonra stop etti. Kritik virajlarda sakatlıklar yüzünden takımını yalnız bıraktı. Beklentilerin uzağında kaldı. 2025'in sonu ve Ocak aylarında taraftarı mest eden Talisca, hem Süper Lig hem de Avrupa'da 10 gol ve 2 asistlik muazzam bir katkı verdi. Şampiyonluk ateşini yaktı.

Ancak 8 Şubat 2026’da atılan imzalar, işlerin rengini değiştirdi. Sözleşmesini yenilediği o tarihten bugüne geçen yaklaşık iki aylık sürede Brezilyalı yıldız sahada sadece 6 maçta boy gösterebildi. Fenerbahçe şampiyonluk ve Avrupa yolunda en keskin dönemece girerken, Talisca’nın istikrarı yerle bir oldu. Sözleşme sonrası sadece 2 gol atabilen yıldız oyuncu, Avrupa’da 1, Türkiye Kupası’nda 1 ve Süper Lig’de 3 olmak üzere toplamda 5 kritik maçı kaçırdı.

Kasım ve Ocak arasındaki muazzam performans camiada yeni sözleşmeyi kapmak için sergilenmiş bir "vitrin" oyunu olarak yorumlanıyor. Geleceğini garanti altına alma hırsı, her topa basan, skor üreten bir Talisca yarattı.

İmzayı attıktan sonra profesyonel sporcularda sık görülen "hedefe ulaştım" psikolojisiyle konsantrasyon kaybı yaşadığı iddia ediliyor.

2026 sonunda bitecek olan sözleşmesini yenilememe kararı alan 33 yaşındaki tecrübeli yıldız, takımı Botafogo’nun teklifini geri çevirdi. Kariyerine Avrupa'da devam etmek isteyen Telles’in rotayı yeniden Süper Lig’e kırdığı öğrenildi.

“Oyuna yaxşı hazırlaşmışdıq. Qalib gəlmək istəyirdik. Bu görüşə final oyunu kimi çıxmışdıq. Birinci hissədə “Neftçi”, ikinici hissədə biz yaxşı oynadıq. Əvəzetmələrlə oyunu düzəltdik, qol da vurduq. Komandamızdan 2-ci hissədə razı qaldım. “Neftçi”ni təbrik edirəm.

Qarşıda daha 6 oyunumuz var. Rəqiblərimizin də oyunları olacaq. Avrokuboklara vəsiqə uğrunda mübarizədən tam qopduğumuzu demək olmaz. Ola bilsin ki, rəqiblərimiz də xal itirəcəklər.

– Göstərdiyiniz oyunun hissələr arasında bu qədər fərqlənməsinin əsas səbəbi nədir?

– Birinci hissə həqiqətən gözəl performans sərgilədik. Ən azı 6-7 real qol şansını qaçırdıq. İkinci hissədə də 60-cı dəqiqəyə qədər yaxşı oynadıq, hətta ikinci qolu vurduq. Düşünürəm ki, ondan sonra əsas rolu psixologiya oynadı. İlk bir saat ərzində rəqib cəmi bir dəfə qola yaxın oldu ki, onda da qapıçımız inamlı oynadı. Futboldur, belə şeylər olur. Massimiliano Allegri delivered one of his most candid and sobering post-match assessments of the season after Milan were soundly beaten 3-0 at home by Udinese, admitting that their Champions League qualification is now genuinely under threat and that the supporters were entirely justified in voicing their frustration.

The Milan head coach was in no mood to deflect responsibility or find excuses, addressing each difficult question with characteristic directness. On a formation change that some had pointed to as a factor, he was emphatic.

“The change of system has absolutely nothing to do with it,” he told DAZN, with quotes via MilanNews.

“This is a difficult moment for the team. We have lost three of our last four and failed to score in four games during the second half of the season. If you are in the top four, going four games without scoring is simply not good enough.”

Allegri was equally frank about the defensive fragility that allowed Udinese to score three times, particularly on the second goal. “We were defending in a disorganised way because we were too hasty,” he said.

“On the second goal we were three against one. We need to return to being organised and clear-headed, because we still have every possibility of making the Champions League.”

When pushed on whether the Champions League place was genuinely at risk, Allegri did not flinch.

“Football is beautiful but also cruel,” he said. “We must not be swept away by events. We need to restore order in how we manage matches.”

On the supporters’ reaction at full time, the Milan coach was disarmingly honest.

“It is part of football,” he said. “When you win you are good, when you lose you are not. It was right that they booed us today.”

He was also willing to acknowledge what he believed lay behind the team’s dip in form, the psychological impact of losing the title race.

Kosta Runjaic was delighted but measured after Udinese produced one of the results of the Serie A season, beating Milan 3-0 at San Siro in a performance that underlined just how far his side have come under his management.

The coach was careful not to get carried away, however, insisting the win, as emphatic as it looked, was far from the straightforward exercise the scoreline suggested.

“It was a solid match but not a perfect one,” he told DAZN, with quotes via MilanNews.

“Milan had their chances and we had to fight. In certain moments you have to perform at your best and we did that. We were compact, there was a great effort from everyone. Perhaps Milan didn’t expect this kind of energy from us. But it was a competitive match even if it doesn’t look that way, one goal can change everything. We were good because we went looking for fortune and positive situations.”

Asked about the historic nature of the result, Allegri had never previously conceded three goals in a single Serie A defeat at Milan, the Udinese coach was understated.

“I would have been happy with a 1-0 too,” he said. “A win is a win. The team is growing, the players are growing. We play without pressure.”

He did express concern over Keinan Davis’ injury, though he stopped short of speculating on the severity.

Runjaic also singled out Nicolo Zaniolo for specific praise, highlighting a disciplined tactical display that went well beyond his attacking contribution.

“He worked incredibly hard defensively too, a lot of recovery runs,” the coach said. “He was ready to play even more but I chose to bring him off and protect ourselves a little.”

His closing message was simple and telling. “We keep our feet on the ground and go looking for at least two more points, that way we will have a better season than last year.”

Max Allegri revamped his tactics from 3-5-2 to 4-3-3 with Rafael Leao returning as a centre-forward, Samuele Ricci and Zachary Athekame stepping in. Kienan Davis returned from suspension for Udinese, but Adam Buksa, Jordan Zemura and Alessandro Zanoli were all carrying injuries.

Nicolò Zaniolo tested Mike Maignan on the counter-attack in the third minute, while Christian Pulisic went on a slalom through defenders until his finish was charged down, then Rafael Leao fired just over when sent through by Alexis Saelemaekers.

Leao was booked for sarcastically applauding the referee after he went down in a tussle with his marker and the foul went against him for flailing an arm.

It was Udinese who opened the scoring when Zaniolo went on a rapid counter-attack, shrugging off attempted Saelemaekers and Strahinja Pavlovic tackles, spreading it down the right for Arthur Atta, whose cross took a big deflection off Davide Bartesaghi to wrong-foot Maignan.

There was a lack of communication when Pulisic floated a ball to the back post for Saelemaekers, but Leao went for the acrobatic volley instead and ruined the chance for his teammate.

Moments later, Pulisic dribbled into the box only to drill inches wide, but Udinese nearly had a second when Davis shrugged off Pavlovic only for Maignan to palm the strike onto the crossbar from a tricky angle down the left.

The Friulani did double their lead when Zaniolo whipped in a wonderful cross from the right that found Jurgen Ekkelenkamp to nod in at the back post between two Milan defenders.

It really should’ve been 3-0 in first half stoppages when Leao lost it cheaply to spark the counter-attack, Kamara rolled across from the left for Davis, denied by a desperate Pavlovic tackle, then Davis accidentally deflected the Thomas Kristensen follow-up from seven yards, so Bartesaghi could clear off the line.

Milan were jeered off the pitch by their fans and Allegri made a radical change, introducing Niclas Fullkrug for Athekame, moving Saelemaekers to right-back.

They poured forward, as first Maduka Okoye got down to push a Luka Modric daisy-cutter round the post, then on the resulting corner he flew to palm the Saelemaekers half-volley onto the underside of the crossbar.

Fullkrug’s header was off target and Pavlovic’s diving header only hit the side-netting from a Ricci cross, while Adrien Rabiot needed a crucial sliding tackle to prevent Zaniolo finishing off an Atta assist.

Youssouf Fofana came on and fired straight at Okoye, but it was Udinese who proved far more clinical on another counter, as Atta drilled low into the near bottom corner for 3-0, surprising Koni De Winter.

Maignan had to make a save moments later to deny the Davis left-foot strike, but the Udinese striker sustained a muscular injury and looked distraught as he limped off.

Leao was jeered loudly off the pitch as he was substituted late on, as the crowd was increasingly irritated with his performance, but Udinese love playing at San Siro, having already beaten Inter here this season.

The Portuguese forward was played as a striker once again, and really struggled as the Rossoneri offered little in the way of genuine attacking threat.

Leao himself had eight shots, four of which were blocked and the other four off target. This wastefulness epitomised a rough night for Milan as Udinese claim their second win at San Siro this season.

Leao was also shown a yellow card for sarcastically applauding the referee after a decision went against him, before being taken off with 15 minutes left to play.

As he was substituted, replaced by Ruben Loftus-Cheek, the San Siro crowd jeered the Portuguese forward, capping off a poor night at the office for the Milan man.

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri gave the winger a big hug and clap as he came off, in an attempt to cheer him up, but the overwhelming drone of boos from the home crowd will stick in his mind.

Bedingham was also in positive mood and, from an overnight 76 not out, moved to a 126-ball century, with 13 fours and a six, when clipping a ball from Miles to the square-leg boundary.

McKinney brought up the 200 stand with a six over wide long-on off Taylor and posted another maximum in the same over mid-wicket.

But the increasingly cavalier approach brought his downfall when Williams took a good catch running in from wide mid-on to give Miles a first wicket.

If you had asked the then-teenager if that would be possible, her likely answer would have been more out of hope than expectation.

But this is now where the Red Roses are, they are world champions and expectations are at an all-time high.

'I just dropped the ball'

Mitchell's side were far from perfect in their five-try win over Ireland, but they were always in control as they extended their record-breaking winning run to 34 matches.

Three first-half tries opened up a 21-point lead before Kildunne dropped the ball over the tryline.

Ireland and England then each scored two second-half tries, as the encounter in front of a record crowd failed to catch fire.

The 2024 world player of the year Kildunne remained calm after her error and showed her searing pace to finish in the corner.

Rather than learning from losing control while putting the ball down with one hand, Kildunne again confidently placed it down in the same manner.

"People will want an explanation as to what happened - I just dropped the ball," she added.

"It shows that we are just people and mistakes will happen, and we always talk about how quickly you can recover.

"I brushed my shoulders off and just went again."

Talling & Hunt set to miss rest of tournament

England, who have not lost a Six Nations game since 2018, are seeking an eighth consecutive title and a fifth Grand Slam in a row.

Prior to the tournament, Mitchell lost four of his matchday squad from the World Cup final to pregnancies.

Three of those - Zoe Stratford, Abbie Ward and Rosie Galligan - have all played in the second row under Mitchell.

Lock Morwenna Talling was carted off on a stretcher against Ireland, with Mitchell confirming that she and replacement scrum-half Natasha Hunt will likely miss the rest of the tournament through injury.

Loughborough Lightning's 19-year-old Haineala Lutui, who has mainly been deployed in the back row for her club, came off the bench to make her debut as Talling's replacement.

"We must adapt, as we have lost four international locks - we will be a team of back rowers by the end of the tournament," Mitchell said.

"If that is the way it is going to be, then so be it. There are different ways to play this game, and if that means using back rowers, then we will make it work."

Megan Jones replaced Stratford as England captain and stepped up with a strong defensive performance, picking up the player of the match.

"There were always going to be nerves coming into this campaign off the back of an amazing World Cup, so there was always going to be that expectation," Jones told BBC Sport.

"We want to play in front of big crowds like that, and sometimes the game can get stuck, but we found ways through, and that is what a winning team does.

"Some nerves, but we will brush up on that."

Mitchell made eight changes from the World Cup final starting XV, which resulted in a lack of cohesion at times as his side attempted to play an open and expansive brand of rugby.

Scrum-half Lucy Packer, who played second fiddle to Hunt during the World Cup, looked lively throughout, while 22-year-old lock Lilli Ives Campion also stepped up in the line-out.

Fly-half Holly Aitchison was another player who struggled for starts at the World Cup but was handed the number 10 role from the outset.

"This is a new team, a fresh start and a learning process, and we have learned a lot today," Mitchell told BBC Sport.

"Ireland were taken out of the match in the first half, but we let them back in, so we will learn from that.

"There is a huge amount of growth still to come - we are exposing youngsters and challenging the nine-ten axis.

"Players will be better for today's performance."

It will be interesting if Mitchell continues with his rotation policy or build cohesions, as England next face Scotland (13:30 BST) at Murrayfield next Saturday.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Minnesota Duluth sophomore forward Max Plante received the Hobey Baker Award on Friday night, an honor that goes to the nation's top college hockey player.

Plante is the seventh player from that program to win the Hobey Baker and the first since defenseman Scott Perunovich in 2020.

Denver defenseman Eric Pohlkamp and Michigan forward T.J. Hughes were the other finalists.

Plante, selected in the second round of the 2024 NHL draft by the Detroit Red Wings, had 25 goals and 52 points this season, the most by a Duluth player since the 2011-12 season.

His father, Derek, was a Hobey Baker top-10 finalist in 1993 while at Duluth. Derek Plante played in the NHL from 1993-2001 and is a scout for the Ottawa Senators. They are the second father-son combination to be a finalist, joining North Dakota's Jason Blake in 1999 and Jackson Blake in 2024.

Speaking about his contract extension, Michigan head coach Dusty May did not dance around the topic or leave room for interpretation.

“I’m very grateful, and during the tournament, I just told Warde I’m not leaving,” May said on the Big Ten Network. “And I probably ruined any leverage I could have had. It’s an honor to coach at this great institution, and I just look forward to what’s next.”

That quote says everything.

No posturing. No hedging. Just a coach who made up his mind and stuck with it.

Commitment backed by action

Michigan moved quickly to secure May following a national championship run, but the foundation for that agreement had already been laid.

During the tournament, at the height of outside interest and speculation, May had already told athletic director Warde Manuel he was staying.

That matters.

In an era where leverage often drives decisions, May openly acknowledged he gave that up. The priority was not negotiating power. It was stability and belief in the program.

A program built on alignment

What stands out most is how aligned Michigan appears at the top.

Manuel made it clear the university sees May as the long-term leader. May, in turn, reinforced that vision with his own words and actions.

There is no disconnect here.

Just a program that found its coach and made sure he is staying.

Focus shifts to what comes next

Even in discussing the contract, May’s attention did not linger on the deal itself.

It shifted forward.

That has been a consistent theme throughout his tenure. Build, improve, and move on to the next challenge.

With a championship already secured, the expectation now is sustaining that level.

The bottom line

Dusty May’s reaction to his new contract was not about the deal.

It was about the decision.

He chose Michigan, made it clear during the biggest stage of the season, and backed it up when the contract was finalized.

We’ll always have those 10 days when Grant Holman was in the Dodgers organization. The well-travelled right-hander was claimed off waivers from Los Angeles by the Detroit Tigers on Saturday, ending Holman’s 10-day stay.

The Dodgers claimed Holman off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 1, and optioned him to the minors. He was technically on the Arizona Complex League Dodgers roster, though there are no games on that level yet, so it’s basically another way of saying he was getting work in at Camelback Ranch. Holman did not pitch in the minors in his week and a half in the organization.

Holman, who turns 26 in May, pitched in 40 games for the Athletics in 2024-25, but is now on his third team since getting designated for assignment by the A’s in February. Arizona claimed the right-hander on February 15, then designated him for assignment 10 days later, before the Dodgers claimed him on April 1. Now, he’s with the Tigers, more specifically their Florida Coast League team in Lakeland.

With this move, the Dodgers have 39 players on the 40-man roster.

Craig Overton put Somerset in a dominant position against Essex at Chelmsford with the highest score of an illustrious first-class career built largely on his skills with the ball rather than the bat.

The stand-in captain walked out on Friday evening with Somerset creaking at 114-5, still 35 runs behind Essex's first innings, but had more than doubled the score in three-and-a-half hours at the crease by the time he was out for 141 in mid-afternoon.

In partnerships of 98 with Lewis Goldsworthy and 118 with Will Smeed, Overton helped Somerset establish a 199-run lead.

It was a decade ago that the then 22-year-old Overton scored his only previous century, 138 against Hampshire, though he has been in formidable form with the bat in recent times.

He has passed fifty in four of his past six County Championship innings, stretching back to September, and 219 runs in three innings this season. His 180-ball ton included 19 fours and three sixes.

In response, Essex lost three wickets in the first 15 overs of their second innings, before Paul Walter and Matt Critchley settled into a defiant fourth-wicket stand currently worth 86 runs either side of a 53-minute rain delay.

Both batsmen timed the ball nicely, with Walter reaching his first fifty of the season and Critchley hitting nine fours in his half-century. Essex closed on 131-3.

That Overton as captain had the Midas touch was evidenced when he won the toss on a bowler-friendly green-top. It continued when Essex batted again when he called up Jack Leach for a short, pre-tea spell and saw the spinner remove Dean Elgar with his sixth delivery, held low down at mid-on.

Then, straight after the interval, a switch of ends for Migael Pretorius led to Luc Benkenstein driving loosely at a wide ball that ended up in the wicketkeeper's gloves. Charlie Allison departed without scoring when he dabbed Jake Ball into the slips.

However, it was a day all about Overton as batsman. He was initially more circumspect than on the previous evening when his first fifty had taken just 33 balls. On a now lifeless pitch, and under gloomy skies, he was content on a no-risk policy while building a solid advantage.

With Goldsworthy, Overton took that advantage to 63 before the stand was broken nearly an hour and 15 overs into the morning. Goldsworthy, who batted with Tom Lammonby as a runner after tweaking a hamstring before play, left his bat hanging out and was caught behind off Jamie Porter.

That brought in Smeed, the injury substitute for Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who damaged a thumb in taking a catch the previous morning, for his first-class debut.

Smeed, a white-ball specialist, had decided recently to expand his career into the red-ball sphere. He took time to acclimatise, using up 18 balls before getting off the mark.

Overton may have slowed down his strike-rate appreciably, but he still allowed himself the luxury of lofting Simon Harmer for another straight six. A single turned into the legside off the same bowler brought up his three-figures from 136 balls and a celebratory fist pump as he reached the non-striker's end.

The arrival of the second new-ball signaled an upturn in the rate of scoring with 50 runs added in seven overs, including nine boundaries, before Overton's epic effort was ended when he played down the wrong line to Shane Snater and was lbw.

Without a run added Smeed was strangled down the legside by Cook to claim his third wicket.

Porter and Snater followed suit with their third wickets to wrap up the Somerset innings in the space of five balls: Pretorius thick-edged to first slip and Ball fall to a catch at third slip.

Florida State’s offense answered the defense’s dominant showing from a week ago, with the Seminoles wrapping up their final full-contact practice of the spring Saturday in what head coach Mike Norvell called the best offensive performance of the spring.

“Really a great response from a week ago, where the defense really took control of scrimmage,” he said during a Zoom with reporters. “There were big plays vertically, I thought the run game was able to get established. I thought running backs ran hard, fighting for yards, O-line played well together.”

The offense highlighted the day with two drives of more than 90 yards in backed-up situations. Wide receiver Devin Carter had a big vertical play to help spark one of those drives, while Norvell said the staff intentionally limited wide receiver Duce Robinson’s workload to get others extended looks.

Wide receiver EJ White, returning from roughly two weeks of limited participation with a leg injury, turned in what Norvell described as a strong first full day back. The group’s overall performance drew praise from Norvell, who noted the importance of consistency rather than isolated plays: “to see them put together consistently putting plays together versus different looks — that’s what you want.”

The Seminoles ran 19 consecutive reps at the goal line in a dedicated drill, with the offense edging the defense 10-8. Running back Ousmane Kromah had a pair of tough runs, and Norvell praised the physicality on both sides.

“It was a good drill, both sides had their moments,” he said. “There were a couple plays where you felt penetration from the defensive line, shooting a gap, playing aggressive. And then there’s certain times where it’s a scrum, it’s just a fight — a lot of bodies, everybody pushing, fighting for leverage, angles.”

“There were a handful of passes in those situations that I thought the quarterbacks, receivers — everybody did a good job maximizing the space when we did throw the football down there. It was definitely a very physical drill.“

On defense, safety Jordan Crutchfield had an interception and edge rusher Jalen Anderson recorded a sack in a two-minute situation. Linebacker Karon Maycock also drew praise from Norvell.

The quarterback competition between Ashton Daniels and Kevin Sperry remained open heading into Monday and Wednesday’s final two spring practices. Norvell said a resolution that extended into the summer would not hinder preparation, citing the staff’s familiarity with both players after a full spring.

“You always have a plan for what guys have shown that they are most confident in, what they execute best,” Norvell said. “When it comes to our offense, I feel confident that we’ve got the people in place, the schemes in place — we can be very, very successful.”

Norvell said both quarterbacks managed the offense well Saturday, extending plays and showing command of newly installed concepts the staff added during the week.

“Both those guys had really good plays today, and showed good control. They managed the offense well, were able to extend some plays, and then made pretty good decisions for the most part,” he said. “We did install a few things here this week that, after going through spring and saying, ‘all right, I think these couple of concepts, or different elements can help each of these guys in certain ways,’ and they showed that to be true. I liked what I saw from them, and just their control and command of the offense.”

The Seminoles have just two practices remaining, ones that Norvell emphasized will be crucial in setting the standard ahead of the summer.

“We’ll go Monday, Wednesday this next week, cleaning up some of the mistakes that came out today, and just continuing to show where guys are gonna begin when we get back here this fall,” he said.

“The majority of our football team is here, so every day that we come out here and we go to work, I mean, we need to see ascension. We need to see if guys want to be in that front line — well, you’ve got to go earn the frontline reps through your action, and everybody can talk about it, everybody can say what they’re expecting to do, but if it’s not showing up, then obviously you’ll be out of luck when it comes to that. I’m pleased with what I’ve seen for this spring up to this point, but still some work we’re gonna finish up here this next week.“

Warwickshire moved into a strong position on the second day of a low-scoring County Championship Division One match as they dismissed Sussex for 204 to take a first innings lead of 63.

Sussex made a strong start to their first innings but then lost eight wickets for 72 runs before a ninth-wicket partnership of 66 between captain Ollie Robinson and Jack Carson led them to partial recovery.

In their second innings, Warwickshire scored 154-5 to extend their advantage to 217 runs.

There was no sign of the mayhem to follow in the Sussex innings as openers Tom Haines and Dan Hughes added 58 for the first wicket at more than four an over, with both left-handers making the most of some indifferent Warwickshire bowling.

But Sussex were undone by a combination of a sporting wicket, some improved bowling, a couple of marginal umpiring decisions and poor strokes from Haines, James Coles and John Simpson.

Haines was bowled by Ethan Bamber playing a crooked drive in the 14th over, although the ball came in from the bowler's position wide on the crease.

That precipitated a collapse in which Sussex lost five wickets for 25 runs in six overs. Tom Clark was out to the third delivery he faced, attempting to turn a ball to leg and getting a leading edge to mid-off.

And it was 78-3 when Coles, who had already offered a sharp chance to midwicket on eight, was caught at second slip attempting to drive a ball that was too short for the purpose. He had scored 11 off 12 deliveries.

Without addition, Hughes was lbw to Michael Booth for a 52-ball 30, although the ball may have pitched a fraction outside leg stump. Simpson, so often a man in a crisis, had made just five when he played a loose drive and was caught behind for 83-5.

Jack Leaning, desperate for a score after a double failure on debut at Leicester in the previous match, made a careful 14 off 28 balls but was caught at first slip off Jordan Thompson.

And when Tom Price was judged to be just in front to one from Chris Woakes, Sussex's score of 115-7 was a little like Warwickshire's 117-6 the previous day.

At tea Sussex were 130-7 and Hudson-Prentice was caught behind off the first ball after the break.

But skipper Robinson and Carson, who both made 39, then batted for 15 overs to help Sussex top 200.

When Warwickshire batted again they lost four quick wickets, three of them to Hudson-Prentice, who again bowled well and was on a hat-trick when he dismissed Dan Mousley and Sam Hain with successive deliveries.

At that stage, with Warwickshire leading by just 88 runs, the match was in the balance. But Rob Yates and captain Ed Barnard moved the visitors ahead with a solid fifth-wicket stand of 81 in 21 overs.

The stand came to an end when Coles came on and Barnard jumped down the wicket to his second delivery and slogged him to mid-on.

He looked crestfallen, holding his bat above his head. But Yates remained to push Warwickshire's lead to over 200 with a season's best unbeaten 75.

The Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins have already collaborated on one major trade this offseason. Could there be another?

The Broncos acquired wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and a fourth-round pick from the Dolphins last month in exchange for their first, third and fourth-round picks. The Dolphins are going through a transition period with a new head coach and general manager and have had what amounts to a fire sale this offseason. The biggest superstar remaining on the roster is easily running back De'Von Achane. 

Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report suggests that he could be traded this offseason as well, despite general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan saying he's not interested in doing so, and lists the Broncos as a potential suitor. Here was his take:

"It has been a fire sale in Miami this offseason.

Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle was traded to Denver. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and edge-rusher Bradley Chubb were moved as well, with the latter carrying a record dead-cap hit. And with the Dolphins seemingly tearing the team down to the studs, some have speculated that running back De'Von Achane could also be available.

However, Dolphins general manager Jon Eric-Sullivan told reporters Miami has no intention of dealing the 24-year-old, who had a career-high 1,350 yards on the ground in 2025.

"There is zero effort on my end to move Achane," Sullivan said.

Sullivan said he is working on an extension for the 2023 third-rounder, but when voluntary workouts started in Miami, Achane was unsurprisingly absent.

PFT's Mike Florio wrote that while Miami may have received offers for the electrifying young back, none have come close to tempting the team:

"I think when the team says he's not available, what they mean is they're not going to trade him for any of the offers they've received. This is the time of year when offers circulate for many players who ultimately aren't traded. General managers talk constantly, so they've surely seen offers for De'Von Achane, but none have been strong enough. Based on what they've received so far, they're not making a move."

Frankly, the offers that are being projected by some are underwhelming, even with the Texas A&M product about to sign an extension that should average at least $15 million per season.

If a team comes to the Dolphins with a beefier offer, though, Sullivan would likely reconsider his stance on Achane.

Broncos likely don't have enough to acquire De'Von Achane

The Broncos have made it clear that they are firmly set on getting to and winning the Super Bowl this coming season, something they came quite close to doing last year. While the team does need another running back, and the speedy Achane would be an excellent addition, it's hard to imagine the team having a "beefier" offer than what the Dolphins have already been getting this offseason considering what was given up in order to get Waddle. 

It's a fun idea on paper. Achane is still just 24 years old and in three seasons, has already rushed for over 3,000 yards, caught 172 passes and scored 35 total touchdowns. He's one of the fastest players in the NFL and perhaps the best receiving running back in the league right now. 

Teams may be thinking they can get Achane at a bargain considering the current state of the Dolphins, but a new general manager is not likely to knock it down to the studs unless he is blown away by an offer. The Dolphins still need players to build around and Achane is clearly one of those.

It would take several high draft picks in order to get him away, and the Broncos don't have those, at least not in the upcoming draft, after trading for Waddle. It's unlikely that the team would start to trade away more future picks as well.

Barcelona are heading for another three points in their La Liga defence bid, as they have now 4-1 up on Espanyol in their derby clash at the Spotify Camp Nou.

It was a strong first half showing from the league leaders, who led 2-0 at the interval after a brace from Ferran Torres, who scored his first La Liga goals since late January. However, they lost some control after half time when Pol Lozano curled into the back of the net, which gave Espanyol a lifeline.

It has been a very nervy second half for the hosts, amplified by the fact that Lamine Yamal and Pedri have remained on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes. But their nerves have settled now, with the former having made it 3-1 after the ball broke his way off Espanyol goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic.

And two minutes later, Marcus Rashford volleyed home Frenkie de Jong’s cross to add a fourth of the evening for Hansi Flick’s side.

It has been a month since Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo picked up an injury that will go on not only derail his season with Los Blancos but also rule him out of the World Cup.

It was a devastating knock for the Brazilian international, who was supposed to play a key role for his country this summer. But instead, he has now been ruled out for about a year.

A month into his injury, Rodrygo has shared some important updates surrounding his recovery process, confirming that things are heading in the right direction.

Rodrygo has posted a photo on Instagram showcasing his recovery after picking up a long-term injury last month. His caption read, “The process is part of the success. Month 1 complete. Battle, strength, and evolution… “

Among these photos was a picture of a personal diary, which offered a glimpse into the gruelling reality of his recovery.

Rodrygo described “pure suffering” and even “fainting” from the intensity of the pain. However, by the fifth day of his post-operative journey, he noted a “very good night” and reported experiencing only “mild pain during the day.”

This is a good sign for the Brazilian international as he continues to improve the sensations around his body and get the right treatment.

Although he will not be present for the World Cup, the forward has received a lot of support from everyone involved, including Carlo Ancelotti, who has given his blessing for Rodrygo to be included in future World Cups.

Real Madrid, too, would want the Brazilian to return as soon as possible, as he could play a critical role in the season ahead, especially if the club decide to bring in a new manager in the coming summer.

Barcelona and Espanyol took to the field for the Catalan derby on Saturday evening, but Hansi Flick had seemingly no focus on the game against Atletico Madrid midweek despite all the talk.

The manager handed both Pedri and Lamine Yamal starts despite their discomfort and overload of minutes, and ensured that a strong team was on the field at all times. 

Barcelona took an early two-goal lead, but Espanyol pulled one back after the break to put the pressure on the hosts once more. Flick’s men pushed hard for a third, and in the end, got two late goals to inflict a massive result in La Liga.

Joan Garcia: 7.5

The goalkeeper did not have a busy night against his former club unlike the last time he faced off against them in La Liga, and was good with routine saves and distribution. 

Nothing he could have done to deny Espanyol’s goal in the second-half.

Alejandro Balde: 7

Balde was handed a start after a long time and did decently well on the left flank both offensively and defensively. His attacking output, however, was nowhere close to Joao Cancelo’s as the Portuguese star has seemingly replaced him as the top option.

Did well to combine with Gavi and Pedri and led the charge on many counter-attacking opportunities.

Gerard Martin: 7.5

Martin dished out a clean performance against Espanyol barring the time late in the first-half when he had an injury scare. 

Moved the ball well from side to side and even occasionally attempted the ambitious vertical through-ball. Left the field after the break, seemingly with the same setback.

Pau Cubarsi: 8

Suspended for the UEFA Champions League game midweek, Cubarsi was one of the guaranteed starters on Saturday night and did well to lead the line at the back.

Maintained the offside trap to good effect, was clean with his distribution, and did not show any signs of being disturbed by his blunder midweek.

Ronald Araujo: 7

Araujo started at right-back and did well defensively, although it was clear that he was the weak link in terms of distribution and the buildup. Was occasionally caught under pressure by the Espanyol press but did well to wriggle out.

Offensively, however, his output was highly limited and he barely connected with Lamine Yamal in the final third as a right-back should.

Eric Garcia: 7.5

Garcia started as the defensive midfielder once again, joining Pedri in the middle of the park and doing well to ensure the ball stays with the Blaugrana.

Was crucial in maintaining the possession and circulation of the ball in addition to cutting out Espanyol counter-attacks. Came close to scoring with a great strike from distance in the first-half.

Pedri: 8

Pedri was one of the players who surprisingly started on the night, especially given his discomfort in the game against Atletico Madrid midweek. He showed no signs of carrying that injury and controlled the tempo of the game neatly.

Gavi: 7.5

Gavi was handed a first start on the night and looked surprisingly sharp for a player who has been out in the long-term.

Espanyol offered zero threat on the counter and were as physical as usual, committing a few rough fouls that led to yellow cards for the visitors.
• Barça couldn’t capitalize on their dominance with a third but created enough to find another, and Marko Dmitrovic made some important saves to keep Espanyol alive in the contest.
• The halftime whistle came to end an opening period dominated by Barça, who had a comfortable lead and were in full control. But they still needed a third to make sure of the win and allow Hansi Flick to make some changes to rest bodies for the second leg against Atlético Madrid.
• Barça made a sloppy start to the second half and paid for it, as Pol Lozano scored from the edge of the box to bring Espanyol back into the contest. • Just 90 seconds after that came another goal thanks to a wonderful through ball from Yamal to find Frenkie de Jong, who marked his return from injury with an incredible assist to Rashford who scored Barça’s fourth and turned the win into a rout.
• The final whistle came to end a match that Barça fully deserved to win, even if things got a little nervous after Espanyol’s goal. This was tight, physical and tough, but the better team won and Barça continue on the march to another league championship. Well done, boys!

“Sabah”ın Valdas Dambrauskas Azərbaycan Premyer Liqasının 27-ci turu çərçivəsində “Zirə”yə qarşı keçirdikləri oyunu şərh edib.

Arena.az xəbər verir ki, sözügedən komandaların bu gün Masazırda baş tutmuş görüşündə qalib müəyyənləşməyib – 2:2.

Dambrauskas matçdan sonra təşkil edilmiş mətbuat konfransında bunları söyləyib:

“Yaxşı oyun alındı. Azarkeşlər qollu oyuna şahidlik etdilər. İlk dəqiqədən sonuncu dəqiqəyə qədər qalib gəlmək üçün mübarizə apardıq. 90 dəqiqə ərzində öz oyun prinsiplərimizə sadiq qaldıq. Topa daha çox nəzarət edirdik, daha çox pressinq edən, hücuma çıxan komanda biz idik. “Zirə”ni də təbrik edirəm. Yəqin ki, onlar bura 1 xal üçün gəlmişdilər. O xalı da əldə etdilər. Rəqibin yaxşı oyun planı var idi. Öz komandamı da təbrik edirəm. Ardıcıl üçüncü matçda ilk hissəfə hesabda geri düşsək də, özümüzdə cəsarət tapıb oyunu bərabərləşdiririk. Bu gün hər iki hissədə çoxlu qol fürsətlərimiz oldu. İkinci yarıda əlavə 3-4 dəqiqədə olsaydı, fərqlənə bilərdik. Bu gün bizim günümüz deyildi. Artıq bu oyunu unudub yolumuza davam etməliyik. Sabahdan etibarən “Qarabağ”la keçirəcəyimiz iki qarşılaşmaya hazırlaşmalıyıq.

Bu gün dominant tərəf biz idik. Sadəcə, öz səhvlərimizə görə qollar buraxdıq. Bu səhvləri dərindən təhlil etməliyik. Rəqib birinci hissədə iki dəfə qapımıza gəldi və iki qol vurdu. Mövsüm ərzində az qol buraxırdıq. Nəyə görə qollar buraxdığımızı təhlil edəcəyik. Biz daha çox öz oyunumuza köklənirik. Onu da qeyd edim ki, heç bir komandanın köməyinə ehtiyacımız yoxdur. Digər komandaların nəticələrinə baxmırıq.

Son dəqiqələrdə mərkəz müdafiəçilərimiz də hücuma qoşuldular. Futbolda üç nəticə hər zaman olur. Bu gün heç-heçə etdik. Amma pis çıxış etmədik. Daha yaxşı ola bilərik”.

“Oyun bizim üçün bir az həyəcanlı başladı. Rəqib ilk dəqiqələrdən böyük təzyiq göstərirdi. Müdafiədən çıxarkən səhvə yol verdik və qol buraxdıq. Çox məyusedici idi. Növbəti 10 dəqiqədə rəqib yenə bizə böyük təzyiq göstərdi. Amma sonrakı dəqiqələrdə fəal çıxış edib iki qol vurduq. Fasilədən sonra standart vəziyyətdən qol buraxdıq. Futbolçularımız əzmkarlıq göstərdilər, qol vurmağa çalışırdılar. Son 10 dəqiqədə isə rəqib böyük qüvvə ilə irəli getdi. Müdafiəmiz etibarlı oynadı və 1 xal qazandıq. “Sabah”la oyunda qazanılan hər xal dəyərlidir. 1 xal üçün çox sevinirik. Fikrimcə, bu xal bizim üçün çox faydalı olacaq.

“Sabah” bu il həqiqətən də möhtəşəm futbol nümayiş etdirir. Səfərdə oynadığımızı nəzərə alsaq, qazanılan xal bizim üçün çox önəmlidir. Çempionatın favoritləri ilə oyunlarda qazanılan hər xal önəmli olur. “Qarabağ”dan 2, “Sabah”dan 1 xal almışıq. Bu xallar çox önəmli olur. Ötən tur son dəqiqələrdə qol buraxıb heç-heçə etdik. “Şamaxı” ilə matçda heç-heçə gözlənilməz deyil. Amma matçın gedişatı elə idi ki, rəqib azlıqda idi, çoxsaylı qol epizodlarımız var idi. Son dəqiqələrdə nəsə hadisə baş verdi və qol buraxdıq. Acı xal itkisi idi. Futbolçular çox məyus olmuşdular. Əsas narahatlığım o idi ki, həmin məyusluq bu oyuna təsir edər. Şükürlər olsun ki, futbolçular bu gün onu hiss etdirmədilər. Növbəti turda “Neftçi” ilə oynayırıq, 4 gün sonra “Turan Tovuz”la kubokun cavab görüşü var. Əvvəl də demişdim ki, apreldə bizi çox ciddi oyunlar gözləyir. Qarşıdakı matçlara çox yaxşı hazırlaşmalıyıq”.

Futzal üzrə Azərbaycan millisinin üzvü Ədalət Ələkbərov Gürcüstan yığmasına qarşı keçirdikləri yoxlama oyununu şərh edib.
