A jury has been seated in the assault trial of former New England Patriots star wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
The seven jurors, comprising six women and one man, were selected at Dedham District Court for a trial that the judge says could last “two or three days.”

“We are devastated to hear about the passing of John Sterling, a WFAN and Yankees radio icon whose voice was synonymous with an entire generation of Yankee fandom,” WFAN said in a statement.
Sterling called games for the Braves from 1982-1987 and for the Hawks from 1981-1989. He then took the radio play-by-play job for the Yankees, where his signature “The Yankees Win” call became a staple.
His broadcasting career also included stints with the New York Nets, New York Islanders and Baltimore Bullets.
The Braves and Hawks both posted tributes on their social media accounts.

It would be simplistic to say the Italian league was all but decided by New Year’s Day, but there’s a grain of truth in that assessment. Inter hit the top of the table shortly after Christmas and never really looked back. While others stumbled around them, the Nerazzurri showed that – at least on the home front – they could be the side to beat for some time to come unless other big clubs get their house in order or new challengers emerge. Here are the ratings of some of the most important figures in their 21st Scudetto.
Inter win 2025-26 Serie A title: the most influential figures
Christian Chivu 7.5/10 – Simone Inzaghi was a hard act to follow, and initially it looked like the Romanian might not be up to the job. Early defeats to Juventus and Napoli suggested he was fine against the league’s lesser lights but perhaps still learning against fellow giants. To a degree that persisted throughout the season, but not enough to dent their rise to the top. A big win over Como showed they meant business, and they set a pretty relentless pace. Europe and the Italian Supercup were disappointing, but with a potential double on the cards, thanks to a Coppa Italia final with Lazio, he surely deserves more than pass marks.

Federico Dimarco 9/10 – Fans of the Italian national team might beg to differ, but for his club side, this was an unforgettable season for the flying fullback. He was already an amazing attacking option for his team, but his 18 assists this term – the best ever in Serie A since records began – took him to another level. Little wonder Marcus Thuram felt it necessary to polish his teammate’s boots after setting up yet another goal. Add to that a few goals of his own, and you can see why, especially with his partner in crime, Denzel Dumfries, out injured on the other flank for a long spell, he was one of the main architects of Inter’s success.
Manuel Akanji 7.5/10 – There is an accepted wisdom that defenders coming from the Premier League can struggle to adjust to the Italian game, but the Swiss international did not seem to have too many problems. He quickly became a stalwart on Chivu’s side just as he had previously done with Manchester City. He definitely made the biggest impact among any of the new arrivals at the club, and it is perhaps no surprise that there is speculation that he and Yann Bisseck could become the favoured centre-back pairing for a while to come.
Lautaro Martinez 8/10 – Even operating on a part-time basis, he remained a fundamental part of this Scudetto side, both from the touchline barking instructions and when he could get on the pitch to strut his stuff. His goal haul despite struggling with injuries tells part of the story but a more significant slice comes from what he adds to the overall teamplay. Simply one of the best link-up forwards in the business, he is capable of scoring goals and setting them up for others. The Nerazzurri will be praying they can hold on to him and that he has a season with a clean bill of health.

Francesco Pio Esposito 7/10 – Although he didn’t feature all that often or for a full 90 minutes, he was still definitely a bright spot this campaign. At a club more known for its old stagers than its youthful appearance, he was a breath of fresh air. His attitude, effort and will to learn helped him cope through periods when his more experienced counterparts were sidelined. In an era when very few young Italians get a chance anywhere – never mind with a title-winning team – this was a first step in what will hopefully be a very long and successful career.
LONDON (AP) — Working from home is the new normal for millions of people in the U.K., and Surrey County Cricket Club has spotted an opportunity to galvanize attendance at its south London ground.
Surrey, one of the most successful teams in England, is encouraging hybrid workers to come and do their jobs at The Kia Oval, the 180-year-old ground just south of the River Thames.
Over the winter, it upgraded the Wi-Fi and set aside work areas with desks, access to power and clear views of the game. “Work From Oval,” it's been dubbed.
It pondered whether it is the “best home office in the country” and crucially assured would-be-workers that “we won’t tell your boss.”
Over the three home four-day County Championship matches it has hosted this season, hundreds have taken up the chance to work at the Oval.
England's premier competition has been mocked for decades for its relatively low attendances — one man and his dog is a regularly voiced description, however unfair.
That certainly wasn't the case at The Kia Oval on Friday when Surrey hosted Sussex on the first day of their match. Over 6,000 attended, the crowd swelled by the glorious weather and the prospect of a full-day — more than seven hours — of cricket ahead.
Though the ground has a capacity of around 27,500, that's really not a bad crowd during a work day. The Oval does sell out for England test matches against other nations and for Surrey's short-format games.
Harry Ashton, director of Elite Finance Solutions, usually works from a coworking space in nearby Wimbledon. He jumped at the chance of working at the Oval for just 15 pounds ($20).
“It’s not quite as good as Lytham Cricket Club,” he quipped, referencing his local club in the northwest of England.
Ashton was joined later by some friends, and after a few hours of work, they enjoyed a beer or two. It was Friday, after all, and the start of a three-day weekend as Monday is a public holiday in the U.K.
In recent years, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, it's been evident that many people at the Oval have their laptops to hand. Arguably, the shift toward hybrid work has become the main legacy of the pandemic.
Though more and more firms are forcing their staff to come into the office, more than a quarter of working adults in the U.K. work remotely part of the time, according to the Office for National Statistics. Critics argue that hybrid working is negatively impacting productivity, an individual's work ethic and the wider economy as a whole.
All the evidence on this particular Friday was that the dozens or so working at the ground were doing just that. Numbers were crunched and Zoom calls were held.
“I have great belief in life generally, if you treat someone like an adult, they will behave like an adult,” said Neil Munro, owner of Munron Consulting Ltd. “I don’t see any downside provided everyone treats it with respect.”
Matthew Balch, a keen club cricketer himself, agrees.
“I think all of the counties should lean into the remote worker-freelancer market to grow attendances,” he said.
Some workers were a bit more coy.
One 46-year-old woman working for a global company insisted on maintaining her anonymity, voicing concerns about how she would be perceived.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — For the first time in over two decades, the Portland Fire played in front of a home crowd on Sunday afternoon, officially making their highly anticipated return to the Rose City.
Portland hosted the Los Angeles Sparks and dropped 85–75 in the second game of the franchise’s new era. The team showed flashes of promise throughout the night, shooting 44.4% from the field and forced turnovers with eight steals
Nyadiew Puoch and Serah Williams led the way with 12 points each. Puoch went 4-of-5 from the field and knocked down two three-pointers, while Williams controlled the boards with eight rebounds. Carla Leite added 11 points and three assists. Jordan Harrison had nine points and a team-high four assists.
Portland native Cameron Brink also returning home with the Sparks and grabbed four rebounds.
Though the Fire are still building team chemistry, the Moda Center erupted in cheers as the team was announced, showing just how excited fans are for the return of women’s basketball to the Rose City.
Portland will look to build momentum when it hosts the Chicago Sky on May 9th at the Moda Center for the regular-season home opener.

ESPN has generally been very careful to cover the saga involving NFL reporter Dianna Russini and New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel. But TNT Sports’ Inside the NBA production crew wasn’t afraid to go there in its first season with the Worldwide Leader.
After the Detroit Pistons beat the Orlando Magic in Game 7 of their first-round playoff series on Sunday, Inside the NBA followed on ESPN (the game was on ABC). At the end of the program, Inside the NBA aired its “Gone Fishing” segment, which mocks teams eliminated from the playoffs. The “Gone Fishing” graphics always show stars from the team that has been eliminated, and they frequently include notable figures from the sports and pop culture worlds relating to that team’s city.
Well, the Boston Celtics were eliminated from the NBA Playoffs in a Game 7 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night. And the Inside the NBA “Gone Fishing” graphic included Celtics stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Bill Simmons, John Krasinski, Mark Wahlberg, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in Good Will Hunting form… and Russini and Vrabel.
Usually, the Inside the NBA crew isn’t afraid to speak its mind. But Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson didn’t know what to do with this one.
“You guys are…” Barkley said, likely referring to the production crew that put the graphic together.
“Our buddy Bill Simmons is in there, John Krasinski, Mark Wahlberg,” Johnson said.
“Who are the two people at the front?” Smith said, surely trying to bait Barkley or Shaq into addressing it. “I don’t know them.”
“Stop it,” Barkley responded. “Stop it.”
“Ben Affleck and Matt Damon on there, Tatum and Brown,” Johnson continued. “That’s all I see on that boat. I don’t see anything else.”
UD scored 153 points over the weekend, winning by a 44-point margin.
For the second straight year, Jadyn Haywood was named Track Performer of the Year for her double victory performance. She defended her A-10 title in both the 100m and 200m. Haywood ran 11.60 in the 100m and 24.08 to win the gold in the 200m, the spokesperson said.

According to multiple reports in Italy, former Referee Designator Gianluca Rocchi was allegedly caught on wiretap telling VAR supervisor Andrea Gervasoni that ‘they’ no longer wanted to see a particular referee. Yet, exactly who Rocchi was referring to remains unclear.
A probe into alleged sports fraud in Italy remains ongoing, with five individuals connected to the refereeing profession currently under investigation.
Among them is Serie A and Serie B Designator Rocchi, who suspended himself earlier this week.

According to both sources, Rocchi was caught on wiretap in April 2025 telling Gervasoni, who is also under investigation: “They don’t want to see him anymore.”
During the same conversation, Rocchi also mentioned the name “Giorgio”, leading investigators to believe that the ex-Referee Designator referred to Inter’s Referee Manager Giorgio Schenone.
The Milan Prosecutors did try to precisely identify who “they” referred to, obtaining authorisation from the investigating judge for additional weeks of wiretaps on certain targets.

However, in early summer 2025, the judge brought the surveillance to an end, rejecting a request for a further extension after the additional wiretaps failed to produce any new evidence.
Currently, there are five people under investigation, but none from clubs.

Continuing on its commitment to make golf more accessible and affordable for kids, Bank of America announced the return of "Golf with Us." Children, ages 6-18, are invited to enroll in Golf with Us to access tee times for $5 or less to thousands of courses across Bank of America’s 97 markets through a free one-year membership to Youth on Course.
In its inaugural year, Bank of America’s Golf with Us drew nearly 100,000 youth participants from every state, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico, with members logging more than 100,000 rounds of golf nationwide. Of those members, more than 22,000 were girls including many first-time golfers. This year, the Bank hopes to enroll 150,000 kids in Golf with Us.
Last year, more than 187 kids from the Treasure Coast took advantage of the offer and played 1,772 rounds.

Orlando Magic starting forward Franz Wagner has been listed as out for Sunday’s Game 7 vs the Detroit Pistons.
He suffered a right calf injury back on Monday during Game 4 and missed Game 5 and Game 6. He will now miss a third straight playoff game after missing 48 games in the regular season.

The Seattle Mariners have announced that they will honor legend Randy Johnson with his own statue at T-Mobile Park next year
“Randy, on behalf of the Seattle Mariners organization, your teammates, and generations of fans—thank you for your talent, your passion, your competitiveness, and your unforgettable impact on this franchise,” said Seattle Mariners chairman & managing partner John Stantonduring today’s ceremony at T-Mobile Park. “Your legacy will forever tower over this ballpark. In your honor, in 2027 the Mariners will erect a statue honoring your history with the team.”
Johnson will join Dave Niehaus (2011), Ken Griffey Jr. (2017), Edgar Martinez (2021), and Ichiro Suzuki (2026) as Mariners legends to be immortalized with a statue at T-Mobile Park.
Johnson’s #51 jersey was retired by the Mariners in a special pregame ceremony on Saturday.
He came to Seattle in 1989 in a trade with the Montreal Expos. Known as the “Big Unit,” he had his breakout season in 1993 when he went 19-8 with 3.24 ERA and the first of his six 300+ strikeout seasons.
Johnson remains among the all-time franchise leaders in strikeouts (2nd) and wins, starts and innings pitched (3rd), among other categories.
He was inducted into the Mariners Hall of Fame in 2012 and the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015 following a 22-year career in the MLB that ended in 2009.

Guests planning on attending the 152nd Kentucky Derby May 2 should pack a coat – and maybe a poncho – to prepare for colder-than-average temperatures during the race, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service in Louisville.
Much like last year, the 2026 Kentucky Derby is expected to be mostly cloudy with a chance of light rain, but the day is supposed to be colder than recent years, according to historical weather data recorded by NWS. In 2025, Louisville reached a high of 65 degrees on Derby day, with historical data showing Louisville saw a high of 83 degrees on Derby day in 2024.
NWS predicts May 2 temperatures will reach a high near 56 degrees, with a low around 38 degrees. Temperatures are likely to drop significantly by the post time of the race, which is scheduled for 6:57 p.m.
NWS meteorologist Mark Jarvis previously told The Courier Journal low temperatures in the region could cause frost to form – a rare event in Kentucky after May 1 that could indicate shifting weather patterns.

While being poked with needles for bloodwork or hooked up to different machines tracking the cancer in his body, Dick Vitale's mind is elsewhere.
As much as the phone calls delivering a cancer diagnosis — the most recent one coming in April — have rocked him, or the doctor's visits filled with chemotherapy and immunotherapy have left the 86-year-old feeling feverish and tired, he's thinking about the children that shouldn't have to go through this.
Sometimes he thinks about the little girl who's a Courageous Kid alum — the name of the children honored during his annual gala, who have experienced pediatric cancer — when she was 9. Now, she's cancer-free and a teacher.
A lot of the time, he thinks about Payton Wright from Lakewood Ranch, who inspired his pediatric cancer research efforts. In 2006, she was diagnosed with brain cancer at age 4. She had intense rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. The sickness paralyzed her before she died a year later. On the car ride home from her funeral, Vitale told his wife, Lorraine, she would not die in vain.
"I'm obsessed more than ever because I have to see what I go through in terms of scans and blood work," Vitale told The Herald-Tribune. "All kinds of blood work and scans to see where I'm going, progress, and all that. I can't imagine 7-, 8-year-old kids."
The long-time ESPN sports commentator held his 21st annual Dick Vitale Gala on Friday, May 1 at the Ritz-Carlton in Sarasota. The gala is dedicated to pediatric cancer research in collaboration with the V Foundation, a non-profit organization named after N.C. State head coach Jim Valvano, who died in 1993 due to glandular cancer.
Since 2006, the gala has raised over $100 million. Every year, sports figures are honored. The 2026 class included UConn women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma, Michigan State men's basketball coach Tom Izzo, and Houston men's basketball coach Kelvin Sampson.
Vitale, who has melanoma in his lung and liver, delayed his third immunotherapy treatment until after the gala. He didn't want the side effects to impact his speech, the voice the sports world knows for its energy and emotion.
"It's going to be a battle," Vitale said through tears, "But I'm going to win that battle. I swear to you. I'm gonna win that battle. I'm going to fight."
On Friday, he talked about his parents and his mom's encouragement to pursue coaching past the high-school level and outside of small-town New Jersey, despite numerous rejections. His mom told Vitale he had a personality, spirit, and passion that needed to be shared. He recalled some of his favorite memories from past galas and his fundraising goals for the night, all of it in an attempt to inspire the kids and the people around them to donate.
The honorees echoed Vitale's call to donate, praising the commentator in the process. Auriemma said Vitale is unique, someone who can galvanize others in the way few can. And while it's hard to measure how many lives he's affected by calling games, Auriemma saw the tangible evidence of the lives he's touched through cancer research at the gala.
"He kind of created a persona that was synonymous with college basketball, and that would have been a huge thing for him to do," Auriemma said. "And then he took all that and brought the same passion of calling games, getting the fans riled up, and getting all the kids going crazy — he takes it, brings it to an event like this."
When Sampson was coaching at Oklahoma, Vitale visited his house to speak to fans and donors. Vitale told Sampson about the gala, which was still in its early years, and invited him to come. So, he did.
While listening to a story about a little boy battling cancer, Sampson cried in the audience. At every school he's coached at since, Sampson has been a member of Coaches vs. Cancer, a collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches devoted to cancer awareness and research.
"They fell in love with the game because of the way Dick talked, his energy behind the microphone," Sampson said, later adding, "They just like the way that bald-headed guy talks that makes me want to listen to him. But over the years, instead of listening to his shtick, they started listening to what he had to say."
And over the years, Vitale has done a lot of talking, but to conserve energy on Friday, attendees also made sure he did a lot of hearing.
So, a written message from Emily Ayers, a Courageous Kid member, was shared aloud to begin the gala. She was diagnosed with leukemia in 2016 at 7 years old. Vitale had already read it and shared it. But he waved to a now-teenage, cancer-free Ayers when she stood up, and the moderator began.
"I can't even begin to explain what you mean to me, us kids, and so many people," Ayers' message said. "I know you have yet another battle yourself. I just want you to know that all of us kids are supporting you along the way...I always say that in order to achieve something, you have to have a team behind you that supports and loves you. That’s exactly what you and the V Foundation are. Now it’s our turn..."

Athar+, Abu Dhabi’s first purpose-driven hub dedicated to accelerating social impact, announced 15 social enterprises as the winners of the ‘Impact Makers Challenge | AED 1 Million Grant’. The initiative, held as part of the Abu Dhabi Global Entrepreneurship Festival 2026, aims to accelerate the growth of social enterprises and high-impact ventures, reinforcing Athar+ ’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and impact-driven entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The announcement took place during the Abu Dhabi Global Entrepreneurship Festival 2026, a flagship platform that brought together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and innovators from around the world to explore opportunities for collaboration and sustainable growth.
The initiative was designed to identify and support ventures that are addressing pressing social priorities through innovative, scalable solutions. Through this initiative, participants went through a pitching stage for shortlisted participants following evaluation rounds led by Athar+, an initiative of the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, and supported by Majra – the National CSR Fund.
In collaboration with the Emirates Youth Council for Entrepreneurship, this initiative was organised to empower youth social entrepreneurs, enable them to benefit from shared experiences, inspire the next generation, and strengthen the social entrepreneurship ecosystem.
His Excellency Salem AlShamsi, Executive Director of Social Incubation and Contracting at the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, said, “We believe that the growth of social enterprises is key to driving community development. Through Athar+, we are enabling purpose-driven entrepreneurs to scale solutions that directly addresses community priorities and aligned with Abu Dhabi’s social priorities. By providing tools and initiatives such as this grant, we are ensuring that innovation has a tangible, lasting impact on the community of Abu Dhabi.”
The winners were evaluated and selected based on criteria including innovation, scalability, sustainability, and measurable social impact.
Following a highly competitive national final in Dubai, Dev Bhoda and Joshua Koshy have been selected to represent the UAE at the Red Bull Basement World Final in San Francisco, standing out among some of the emirate’s most promising young innovators.
When the Red Bull Basement programme invited students and first-time founders from across the UAE to submit their next-generation ideas in this renowned annual competition, hundreds of teams responded, reflecting the country’s rapidly growing reputation as a global hub for innovation, entrepreneurship and AI-driven technologies. After a rigorous selection process, the top 8 finalists were invited to present their concepts at a live national final in The Gate DIFC, where innovation took centre stage in a truly unique format.
Fierce Competition
Hundreds of submissions were narrowed down to a select group of standout finalists, each presenting innovative solutions to real-world challenges, from AI-powered platforms to sustainability-driven technologies. Every entry showcased the depth of talent and entrepreneurial ambition emerging across the UAE.

SightSpec AI (Karim Rashad): Utilizes Vision Language Models (VLMs) to automate visual defect detection within software requirement specifications for autonomous vehicles.
AeroAqua Dynamics (Ahmed Mohamed): Features an AI-driven kinetic building facade that significantly reduces cooling costs while simultaneously harvesting fresh water from atmospheric humidity.
Oasis (Stanislav Merkulov): An AI-powered agricultural system designed to enable sustainable food production in desert environments by optimizing irrigation and plant survival rates.
Pulse AI (Ghaeth Mousto): A comprehensive AI platform for construction operations that automates document workflows and analyzes tenders to improve transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
SVPIENS (Charis Jain): A wearable EMG-based performance system that tracks real-time muscle activation to help athletes optimize their training and prevent injuries.
AXON (Astha Chauhan): Combines Quantum-inspired orchestration with upcycled energy storage to reduce AI operational costs by 40% and carbon emissions by 90%.
Vantage Vision Halo (Dev Bhodia and Jushua Koshy): An assistive-navigation headband that utilizes spatial awareness and obstacle detection to help visually impaired users navigate complex environments independently.
SpeakForge (Mariam Mahmoud): An AI-powered speaking trainer that provides real-time feedback on clarity, structure, and confidence to help users improve their presentation skills in a single session.
After careful deliberation, the national judging panel selected Dev Bhodia and Jushua Koshy for their idea, Vantage Vision Halo, recognising its innovation, scalability and potential real-world impact.
Bhodia and Koshy said, “We’re honestly overwhelmed – coming through from a simple university idea to winning Red Bull Basement UAE feels surreal, but also like real validation that our product can make a difference in today’s market. The mentorship, being selected from hundreds of applicants, and meeting so many inspiring people who shared their journeys has helped us sharpen our vision and believe even more in what we’re building. To other young entrepreneurs, if you have an idea you truly believe in, put it out there and apply – you never know where it might take you. Now we’re focused on learning even more, making the most of the support around us, and representing the UAE proudly on the global stage.”

They will go on to represent the UAE at the Red Bull Basement World Final in the USA, joining teams from over 40 countries in an immersive global experience where they will present their ideas to an international panel of judges, investors and industry leaders.
Red Bull Basement, in collaboration with global partners Microsoft, AMD and Red Bull Ventures, and supported locally by DET, MONIIFY and DIFC Innovation Hub continues to provide a platform for the next generation of innovators, equipping them with the skills, exposure and support needed to build the businesses of tomorrow.

The company was founded by Aviv Nahum, a veteran of Unit 81, and Amir Boldo, a veteran of Unit 49, both seasoned entrepreneurs with prior exits.
Insider threat has never been a solved problem. Despite decades of investment in DLP, UEBA, and behavior analytics, organizations still cannot reliably detect, investigate, or stop risk that originates from inside their own walls. Now the problem is about to get orders of magnitude harder.
